your demonstration videos are extremely helpful... i really like the way u give both the full speed tempo, and how u break it down slowly... thanks for posting.

These videos are helpful for some people im sure. I wish youtube was around when i was learning how to play! BUT you have a recording of your song LISTEN to the parts and figure them out. Thats gonna make you learn alot and be a better player. Nates drums sound really good on these videos too!!!

Great break down... I'm planning to buy a kit and learn. It would be nice to play more than strings, even if I'm not as proficieng as a dedicated drummer. My brain and body need the exercise. Great video.

Hey I just picked up drumming and I love it, and the song i want to learn more than any other is "Wizard" by Black Sabbath, if you could make a vid on that im sure not only I but many other viewers would greatly appreciate it, please and thank you, also great lessons!

THANKS... a very good lesson. I like that you break down the lines... and do the measures slower ... to reinforce the rhythms.

Also, in place of a Metronome, for someone playing a non-percussion instrument, a loop station is even better - it not only keeps time but teaches you to play more precisely and within chordal structures, etc.

I'm not a drummer, but I love drums, I love great drumming & drummers and I love Black Sabbath. You've provided some great information and it's very well presented...in less time than the length of 'War Pigs'! Very cool, thanks for the info.

I stand corrected since I just went over the bass line, it is *technically* 6/8 during the intro... but more of a 3/4 waltz feel actually... funny I never thought about War Pigs as a Waltz, but it starts out as one. Hah!. I can imagine playing this song in a Beer Garden in Germany, now... lol

I agree on the covers, the more I learn, the more originals I write. :) The problem with Tabs and most RU-vid video covers is that 99% of them are wrong!!! They are great to get the gist of the song (also watch the original artist live!), but if you want to play it correctly, get your techniques down and develop your ear. I agree about the 'perfection' thing too - I program drum tracks and intentionally put in 'mistakes' and different volumes (like a real drummer) to make them sound human!

Why do you have your met subdivided into 16th notes when so much of the piece is in a triple feel?

curious why the beginning wasn't demonstrated. Especially since it is in 6/8.

You're a great teacher and I love your stuff but you dropped the ball on the break down of the intro feel @1:43, cuz you didn't do it slow enough, or break it down at the end of the video, it's driving me nuts trying to figure it out on the replay.

Awesome playing but too bad you just didn't play the drum track all the way through without skipping sections... that would have been a useful backing track since all of them out there suck, I guess I'll have to make one... ;)

Skipped the 6/8 time intro completely, which is what makes the song.

...and no, hopefully like this guy says, noone counts... but you have all of these newbies that have access to RU-vid that are still requesting Tablature for playing guitar... they don't understand that music isn't about a chart, it's about feel. Period.
