Adrian Chong 3 and 9 I do those things the most even though I am a solo fighter when I do get with a group I do as much as I can to make sure that the strongest robot survives
#11 Do not camp and fire your zenit at the back when your team is down four beacons to one and the blue bar is depleting fast. Sacrifice your bot and go help your teammates out capturing the beacons back.
hmmm im using 3 ee - gepard ... that i dont need to direct combat but still full power attack enemy :P ... well its more effective than stay home and shoot ...zenit or nocrium blah blah
THIS VIDEO IS TIMELESS!!! Although first posted 1 year and 8 months ago, these 10 basic steps still hold true today! Even with all the dozens and dozens of new robots & weapons, this video is an invaluable tool! I've been taking out quite a few newer Falcons simply because they are not being utilized to their full potential. And beacons, beacons, beacons. Beacon control = Beacon time. It's easier, and more fun, if your squad gets the first 3 beacons. Then go for damage & kills while your beacon time continues to increase. But watch it in the last 1 to 2 minutes of the battle, as I've lost too many games by 5 seconds or less at the very end by losing beacon time. I truly enjoy playing with one particular clan mate. I'm the "beaconboy" and he is "Mr Damage" so we compliment one another!!! Finally, if I'm going after a beacon with a dash bot but I can see a fellow teammate is headed for trouble, I'll change course & strategy. Together we can take them out & then I'll get my beacon. Have fun!!! Squad with clanmates!!! My clans motto is "Great Clans are formed by having great people; we are an EXCELLENT CLAN"!!!
I'm glad you have come back to this video and realized how many of the things will still hold true to this day. You'd also be surprised at how many still don't do these things in this video either 🙂
Tip #11 - BALANCE YOUR HANGER! Make sure that you have both closerange and longrange weapons, fast and strong robots, energy and physical shields/weapons. It gives you an opportunity to adapt your strategy to game situation. Thanks for advices, Adrian! They are very useful. When the game gets boring, use tip #10 and the last one!
I started playing the game 3 months after this video was released. Crazy how much time has passed and how changed things are in 2021. Still loving it thou.
How can anyone give this a thumbs down. When I started playing I was surprised they didn't have a real tutorial at start.Anyone remember getting shot at by teammates when you started.
LOL I was one of those players. I remember first dropping in on Springfield map in a Destrier and thought it was free for all. I shot at the nearest robot near me wondering why they didn't die but then I saw red names on the other end of the map and realized I was shooting at my own teammates haha. I also thought the beacons gave me extra health or something so I ran to it then saw it change blue. I kinda just figured it out because then I saw red beacons on the other team. It's a good thing I use to play Quake Capture The Flag before otherwise I wouldn't have grasped the concept of beacons until much later.
# ROK lol I remember first dropping into Springfield as destrier and running away from teammate's and shooting at them. I basically started wondering around the map like a tourist lol. For a very long time I thought newer robots will make me stronger so I kept getting bots like Patton and or Vityaz, with level 1 weapons. And then I saw a guy. Pretty much shredded me with a thunder and I though "wow that's op imma get one". I got the thunder and start shooting people from 500 meter away making about 0 damage LOL, took me a long time to learn thunder is not a snipe weapon..
Sherlock William LOL that's exactly what I thought. I thought the bigger the robot, the better it was which is why I ended up with the Natasha. I remember I couldn't get the Fury because it was too much gold. Maybe this is why we see so many Natashas out there as well - they all think this.
# ROK surprisingly I have not shot at my teammates from beginning. But what did was worse.I believed that doing 0 damage was good.I did my first 15 battle with 0 damage and only beacons.
Thanks! Now I win more frequently because 1. I capture beacons with my robots (especially kumiho) 2. I use my dashes for corner shoots 3. I dash behind the nearest obstacles when I'm being attacked by enemy robots
WarGhost lol same here my team is sometimes, "SOMETIMES" good but "MOST" of the time all they wanna do is kill sure that's good for Team death match but for Domination or king of hill it's annoying
Tip #11. If you have molots or punishers on your robot and if the ammo is low. Always waste that small amount of ammo and let your guns reload while in cover. If you don't do it the enemy will rush at you and destroy you while you are reloading.
I believe it's going to be changing. What it is now I think is only the first phase. This weekend I noticed the new League System which they didn't mention. That new League System could flip everything on it's head when that gets implemented. By the looks of it (I don't know this for sure), in order to progress to the next level, you have to earn a certain level of trophies similar to daily tasks being completed. Once you are in that league, I would imagine they then only match players up within that league but use the winning percentage as guidance. If this is true, you will most likely not have any sort of seal clubbing and players would be grouped more by skill/activity levels.
If only that were true. Tanking has become a real problem in the game now. Players lowering their rating so that they can fight weak opponents. Currently on Android, the top clan has a player with 10000 trophies by using this method. He also wins all the player competitions. It's far worse than the old "seal clubbing" days.
I remember watching this during 2017. I played in late 2014 and was pretty young and didn’t understand much, this video helped a lot when I first saw it and despite me struggling to fight against newer metas it’s still a fun game. This video definitely improved my skill though. Probably the best video you have in my opinion
Congrats, Adrian! In the update, they added a "News" section and this video was just placed in its own section. Technically, War Robots is sponsoring your channel!
Thanks for taking the time to make beginner's video! It really helped me sharpen my game and figure out what I was doing wrong early on. To combine your points 1 and 4, I can't count the number of times folks have either left a beacon uncapped or just stood next to a red beacon. More folks should watch your videos! Mid diamond now and moving up. Thanks again!
Well, found this old video of yours Adrian and it brought back lots of old memories of the bots and weapons and the totally different layouts that we had back then, now we have drones beside us, new bots and titans like scorpion, nodens ravana etc with tonnes of new modules and currencies being released, makes me want to go back to the old war robots :)
I believe when this video came out we had other OP builds in the game like the Ancilot. Just in general, anything run in numbers can appear OP most times.
i try to catch enemy from behind with my carnage & if i can not do damage then i try to attract attention of enemie's robots & keep them busy so others can get beacons & reach enemy spawning area.
Gamer EXPERT Pro Gamer no friend i am not. i am from Pakistan but you can say that i have blood like mangolians. by the way i am pathan. mangolia, afghanistan, uzbikstan, tajikstan & countries like these have pathan's blood.
Gamer EXPERT Pro Gamer friend as i said i am pathan & that means i am khan too.its same. basically khan's or pathans were nomadic warriors but with time they settled down in different areas. mangolia, afghanistan & countries near these countries have pathans or khans. one can not be a khan without being a pathan.
I think many newer players could benefit from a more in depth discussion of number 6. It's not just knowing your weapons types but also other bots strengths and weaknesses. Having the discipline to pick your battles, only engage when you have the advantage and retreat when you are at a disadvantage is the key to the game after beacons. In the lower and mid levels there aren't (or at least weren't when I was there not that long, but before the new MM) shields and everything can damage each other as long as you are in range. Once you start to regularly see Galahad, Carnage, Rhino, Lance, etc with shields you really have to understand how your weapons work against particular shields. For a while I was running 2 different Griffin. One had Orkans and Magnums and the other had Tarans and Aphids. My hope was I would be better prepared to damage anything I came across. For example the Aphids could damage a Rhino and the Tarans would ignore energy shields. In theory this sounds good but a lot of time I found only one set of weapons being effective just wasn't enough. It had the potential to work if you were skilled enough and time was unlimited but it's not in this game. Recently I've switched to the more traditional Tarans/Mags and slightly less traditional Orkans/Aphids. I've been avoiding bots I can't readily damage and my kills and average damage has spiked and is still going up. I'm living longer while able to play more aggressively, and being much more help to my team. It really seems simple but until I experimented some I just hadn't realized it .
sqnkk lol, what I love to say is that there's a fine line between being courageous and being rash:) based from my experience, Awareness is the number one thing every experienced player will have, and very, very, very important.
A couple of extra tips for heavy bombardment types. 1) Know the *minimum* range of certain weapons. Don't fire off Zenit or Noricum at a bot right up in your grill and expect to hit them. Keep your focus and shoot missiles where they are needed. If you can't hit the guy harassing you and can't get away either, just ignore him. 2) Don't shoot where they are, shoot where they will be when the shot reaches them. Especially true with plunging weapons like Zenit and Noricum. You need to lead your shot and fire at the edge of the box if they are moving. 3) Cycle fire with slower weapons. If your bot has two Zenit, fire one first then hit continuous fire at the right time so they are sending a continuous stream of hot explosive death.
Great video as always & congratulations on the collaboration with Pixonic! I was redirected here from the new in-game news feed. Just getting started myself and I appreciate the number of extra hours out of the game you spend on the production value of your videos, always top notch!
Hey man! Nice video... All very good points. One I might add is to not be afraid to backtrack. You don't have to keep going forward sometimes covering your teammates is best. Also, do you ever need any royalty free music? I produce EDM and trap. Looking to collab with more channels. :)
Great video but you can't have fun anymore with the way the match making is ,,,,,it's balls to the wall mlg sweat fest just to win three matches for the day
Match making will be changing very soon. Android just got their update and it now has the new League System although I believe they ran into some issues so have turned some features off while they fix it. iOS will be following soon within the next couple of days. Over the next couple of weeks once that League System starts filtering through the game match making will start to change once again.
lol this is always a funny comment. Ever watch those tournament games where everyone has to use Hangar X - same hangar, same robots, same weapons, same level equipment? Ever wonder why Champion League players are always in the top 8? I don't think it's because of pay2win because in those tournaments not even that will save them :)
@@adrianchong of course is funny for you you don't understand how free to play player are suffering from pay to win peoples. Plus you have everything mk2 on that pixonic account and your always having fun with those mk2 😕
@@cracker9877 I actually DO understand because my MAIN/Own Account started like everyone else. I have 3 accounts btw. One is the account I have owned for the past 7 years. This account I do put money into it but I ALSO have a Baby Account which I started from scratch and took from Recruit League to Champion League. I did this when players told me it was not possible and they wanted me to "prove it" - so I did. I can tell you right now, if everyone in the game had MK2 equipment, the match making would still be horrendous because there's a very big difference between top players vs those who play casually. The difference is in battlefield awareness. I have lost so many games on my own account because players don't go for beacons or if they do, you have 4-5 guys running to the same beacon. Do you honestly think if they had maxed equipment they wouldn't be doing that? They are doing those things by habit and you can't change that. This is why I have said above. If all of these players who are complaining about pay2win, how come they don't enter tournaments where no paying is needed? How come they don't compete? The reason why is because they know they will get steamrolled and they know that there will be no more excuses left. Because at that point, they can't blame things on a pay2win hangar, they can't blame it on lag etc because everyone is fighting on fair grounds.
@@adrianchong Here is why I call This game pay to win I have play this game over 3 years and I don't even have one single mk2 stuff modules are too expensive upgrades weapons and robots ARE WAY TO EXPENSIVES what else oh yeah one dude with all mk2 everything got 16 kills killing those poor free-to-play player. This dude changes the whole round and The new battle pass sucks its moly for pay to win PLAYER 30mins of boost and 10 keys for free to play holy what is pixonic doing with those poor free to play player This game was so much fun back in the days Now you need money to win. Oh yeah when did I ask tournaments. Rematch system is broken lags are crazy clans are so annoying you can't do anything THEY ALL HAVE MK2 STUFF BOOM WE LOST IN 3 MINUTES. GREEDY PIXONIC AND RU-vidRS😞 damm This game changed a lot because Those facking Greedy WR TEAM
@@adrianchong this is just form my opinion too. Personally I go up against many max players with meta weapons and bots. I only have a low level hawk with random things I got from crates and a typhoon with some tartans, a grifin and Natasha. And yes I do understand that this game takes a bit of skill too. I was just talking about my experience with ftp
Omg after watching this I just realised I already knew all of this like it was basic knowledge to me because all of the tips here are what I do when I play the game :D
Great video! I really enjoy how you're teaching beginner tips and trick. From someone that play for 2 years, your tip can help them succeed in the game just like you did!
I agree to all of these tips. Although in most servers I join into, my team is absolutely HORRIBLE. They just STAND AROUND. Most of the time, I did most of the work.
A big one missed that falls under cover. Weapons systems, if you are standing behind cover with say a Taran/Magnum Griffin.... and you are using your right sided weapons while covering your left half.... turn off your weapons on your left half instead of shooting the wall. Or if you have a bot like a Fujin that has a Punisher, a Storm and an Orkan. Shut off the Orkans, don't be shooting them at something more than 300 meters away. Also, use the Punisher/Storm to knock down an enemies energy shields first, then unload your Orkans on them. Things like that. I don't see very many people at all using their Right Mouse button, they are either firing all their weapons at once or nothing.
Hello Adrian. I really like your videos and tips. I have a question and I'm not sure if you've been asked this before...Do you max power up your bots and weapons with the aid of personal monetary funds and if so, how much have you invested of your hard earned cash into this game?
I have put money into this game but that was more to support my RU-vid channel. For example if I was making a Griffin video then I might buy gold to buy skins for it. About 70% of what I have was actually earned through playing - I've been playing for well over 2 years now. My tip for any new player is to not use Gold to speed up their upgrades unless it's for level 11 or level 12. Also don't spend Gold on buying Workshop Points.
My tips is: 1. Get the greatest build possible-dont get be crazy and just put different weapons on your robot the damage is split to different kinds like long/mid/short range, energy, and quick killing.try to think to build a robot that has the same type like pinata and orkan=quick killing, taran and magnum=energy piercer, and trebuchets=long range/energy piecer too 2.know what is the greatest ability for the robots-be sure to know the greatest abilities of your robots like Ex. •kumiho Low health Fast-try to avoid enemies have high powered weapons like orkans shocktrain or exodus(i know there is more).more Examples Falcon •jump-use the 'fangs out' ability of the falcon to engaged high damage from enemies but dont much use it... Use it normally 3.dont be mad-anger might lead you to exaggerate to destroy yout other robots quick try to be focused to all thing. (Thats it migth edit to this if i have more) bye
Hey as per ur tip #3 & 4, we should help our team mates & be aware of what our team is doing and try to help, but without knowing what is team mates energy level and at the speed these robots move, it is difficult to help. I would request to increase speed and display health level of team mates as well
That's something a lot of players have been requesting - being able to see the hp of your teammates. What I really mean by that is... if you see your entire team is in long range, it might not be a good idea to bring out your long range. Or... if you have a valuable Fury Trident on your team which is helping to keep the other team back, try to protect it.
I seriously LOVE your accent! Like saying “Bay-ta play-as” or “bee-cuns, bee-cuns, bee-cuns”! Not an insult or anything, but I just love the accent and how you pronounce these words.
hey Adrian I just purchased two carnage in the first I have thunders level 10 each and on the other I'm having kang dae so should i get trebuchet or tridents
Adrian is there anyway to join your clan on WWR? Im searhing for an active one but all the clans in the list are unactive. I want to play as premades more often so u can communicate. Instead of getting matched up with lonewolves..
Adrian do you mostly play with your clan or a mix of clan and randoms? In tip 4 you sacrifice a bot to work down the ancile for teammates. That is something I try to do as well, although I'm hesitant to sacrifice a bot because often with less than a full clan squad the pilots you're trying to help don't seem to understand or just don't care. It is so frustrating trying to work with someone who is completely oblivious.
In that particular clip I believe I was with clan mates. As for your question though it really depends. When I'm trying to get footage of a particular build or very specific footage I prefer to go solo because it gives a better representation of what most players would encounter. However if I was in a game and my teammates had Fury Tridents and I could see them struggling with an Ancilot and that Ancilot became a threat I would have done the same thing.
Adrian, which of these bots of my lineup would you chose to be replaced with a medium-long range bot: Lancelot Tarans/Thunder, PDB Galahad, PDB Griffin, DB Griffin and Griffin Orkans/Aphids??? Thanks, bro!!!
I think maybe the Plasma Griffin. You have a pretty solid lineup so it might just come down to personal preference. If you find it hard to play the Death Button builds then maybe one of those Griffins.
not sure if I agree with that Natasha but it is a good distraction for enemies to focus on you while your teammates shoot them. but the smart ones will ignore you and fire their plasma guns on the teammates around you
I did not know the sign, for me this bar was the bots the team had to fight. living and learning. Thanks Adrian for the tips !!! I'm Brazilian and I'm going to use your tips well !!! eu não sabia do sinal, para mim esse barra era dos bots que o time tinha para lutar. vivendo e aprendendo. valeu Adrian pelas dicas!!! sou brasileiro vou usar bem suas dicas!!!
Wow, some of the tips has never gotten into my mind or it's new to me lol and hey! I've a good hangar here. . .I'll be saving up gold for Orkan now tho haha I used it for Aphid. -Lead Brawler/Plasma Rhino (As usual, still a fan of this brute). -Lead Support/RDB Griffin (Support) -Main Support/Ranger Leo (Support/Trident/CRV Pins) - Main Brawler Carnage (Finally got my favourite bot of all times, very OP) Most of the weapons are level 7 and I'm starting to advance it to 8, bots are 1 step down from the weapon level.
Another tip: put Shields on jumping mechs. What you can do is use the shield and when they reload you jump over them, shoot them then hide behind your shield. Pretty effective if you practice.
omg yes, if I could make videos I would have made one like this for WR months ago. 70% of the matches I go into are never good fights, or BEACONS!!!!! Seriously 90% of the times my team wins or looses is because of beacons. Thank you so much for making this video, maybe now the game can be 200x more enjoyable to play :)
Nice! So many have asked me to redo this video but I don't think they understand that many of these tips still apply. I tried to think of tips that can carry the player through no matter the meta.
What I would like to see is the ability to communicate via squad/ command levels kind of like cod only the squad leader which will consist of two robots so they can coordinate a usefull strike and the comand will coordinate the squad leaders but a person has to prove and earn these ranks to become commander of a platoon of robot's and be voted out if they have a certain looking street survival of the fittest what do you think?
All good tips for a new player. It seems basic, but I've lost a lot of games because people don't have a clue and just run and gun without any idea what's going on OR quit early in the game and leave you to fight a loosing game.
I had to learn all this while playing. none of it I didn't know besides the beacon bar. I wish other players were team players, hope everyone watches this 👍
Teamwork is really important, but when you have a suicide robot like your natasha, i only see them as decoys that has no sense, BUT for you, you protect other people is a good thing Other people don’t care about teamwork, and just like what i said, the suicide robots (anciles and ecu) sometimes they just wander around, they don’t even capture beacons or maybe protect the attacking teammate!
Adrian I need your opinion on my hanger I don't know what to run and I would like your input on what bots and weapons I should use. I have all the silver bots and have rhino, carnage and Fujin I also have all the silver weapons, a Zeus, 2 orkans, 4 magnums, a trabuchet and 3 tarans What should I run using them?
If I had to build my hangar from scratch based on what I see in the game currently, I would personally build 4 Griffins. - Griffin Tulumbas/Pins - Griffin Orkan/Pinatas - Griffin Taran/Magnums - Griffin Taran/Magnums I noticed you have 2 Orkans which is a very good thing. Maybe run a Rhino Orkan/Magnum if you want to make use of your Rhino.
Now as long as I've been playing this game that was the best message of help for any new beginners I have ever heard before.. Thanks for that info, I did subscribe & look forward to your next clip. SspX🕷🛠🤖
I think at this point the Fury Trident is the better pick but I would caution anyone who wants to build one at this point in the game. Tridents aren't that effective against the Dash robot we've been testing plus the Fury in general won't do well on the new map. Just based on what I'm seeing from test servers I would be more inclined to build a Carnage Zeus.
