War Robots Test Server [2.5.0] - NEW Improved Doc (including gameplay)

War Robots. In this video, I wanted to feature my gameplay from the Test Server [2.5.0] using the new and improved Doc robot from the Wild Bunch. As many of you may know, the Doc isn't exactly competitive in it's current state so the Developers are working on a buff. In this weekend's test server the Doc's speed was changed from 45km/h to 51km/h and it's Quick Draw ability received a slight nerf as it went from a cool down of 14 secs to 15 secs. The biggest improvement though was the change in special ability animation as that time was cut down to 0.5 secs. I think with those three changes, the Doc was made far more effective. However... the cool down time needs to be reduced to possibly 10 secs to help improve it's effectiveness when using weapons with a shorter cool down time such as the Orkan and Taran. Many might argue it may make it too powerful and this could potentially happen. However, in my opinion as it stands, I do find the Doc slightly too weak and I don't think increasing it's HP would be the answer as it would technically be entering into heavy robot status.
Below I have created time stamps of the different builds which I tested for the Doc. These builds I consider to be the more popular ones for this robot once it is released.

It feels like Pix made a wrong sales strategy here, as in given these buffs were implemented before/during the Christmas event, more ppl would feel like actually buying snowflake to get their hands on one of the "cowboys".

I think you're right. They were too much in a rush to release these. So many players keep demanding new robots but now they can see how long it takes to actually balance something in the game. I'm just wondering if this is one way they are planning on releasing robots faster (by using Special Events) but it allows them to tweak and adjust better since it buys them time.

ItsMarsx Doc is pretty sweet and for a while I was running Tarans/ Orkans, but now with the new Dash bots and new weapons, Doc is just too fragile now gor any 350 and under range. Pix should do a buff of an armor plate like Lance to help last a little longer.

I'm actually liking where the Doc is going now. I still feel the cool down needs to be reduced slightly only because this bot does not have a shield. If it doesn't have a shield then it needs to be balanced in other areas. In this case it would be firepower but in order to deliver that it needs to be able to switch fast.

I mentioned in my feedback to test it at 10 seconds just to see. If it's too powerful then we at least know the middle ground is between 10 and 15 seconds.

Adrian, I won this bot during the promotion and have run it with several set-ups as you did. I was surprised at how well you did on the open terrain of canyon as my Doc (currently level 8) get's eaten alive at close range. I ran 2 level 10 Punisher MK2's and 2 Level 10 Hydras as a suppressor in support role and he lasts well on open maps like Springfield where you can use some cover on the left flank to hit the right side center beacon. On more congested maps however, even running Orkan/Taran combos in Gold/Diamond league play, he just doesn't hold up like a Galahad unfortunately and i am presently reluctant to spend the 5M and later 9M in silver to take him to level 10 with the majority of my current Diamond III league hangar. One other thing to mention is that the # of Aphids on the battlefield has dramatically risen due to the current promotion (easy to win on Gold chests) and I find that the aphid really suppresses Doc on many maps. As mentioned, I feel that a shortly quick draw cool down and perhaps a smidge more speed like 55 kph at max would enable him to really bring the heat while avoiding the aphids that are all over the map currently.

So far I think the Doc Orkan is the strongest build. I need to play this bot more to master it. What I do know is that sometimes my Quick Draw doesn't work but I think it's because my Quick Draw button is too small.

did they improve match making cause, i been meeting lots of gepard groups, they were basically gold farming in low tier. now they are in high tier... they are lvl 4 gepards with lvl 12 weapons ...

I believe they are running tests. If you are starting to see them more and more then they might even be making the transition but not announcing it.

Can anyone help.After i got the test server it keeps on saying a new version is available and ask me to update even when im on 2.5.0 version(latest)

Because that isn't the latest test server (the one I tested is shown as 2.5.0.211). The other reason why is because test servers only run on weekends which means if you try during the week it will say the message you are reading. You can not access the test servers until you have the latest test server email invite from Developers.

There is no need to if you've already applied unless you feel they won't see your application form. More often than not if you're in their email list then you're there to stay and will receive future email invites.

With the new currency added to the new refer a friend update, should i save my gold to buy Doc or Butch? I currently have enough money to get a Jesse, but since he's a light bot i dont want it to die that fast without dealing some damage.

I would get the Doc first out of all of them. The Butch is nice but very map dependent. The Doc performs better on all maps.

These are good changes, esp. the speed increase. Adrian, did you ever find the weapon buttons arrangement a little confusing during game play? I mean, shouldn't the active weapons' buttons always be placed on top and the inactive/reloading weapons a the bottom?! Reason being most people play on phones with their right thumb and with the active weapons' buttons placed at the bottom and being blocked by the thumb is an annoyance. You can't see how many shots left (for Taran, Molot, Punisher, etc) or how long before they are ready again.

It will vary depending on how valuable your feedback is. In the past I have received up to 400 gold if I remember and a few days premium like 2 days or something. It's been a while since I've received that though.

Theres something i dont understand pls answer, the damage stat on lets say the trident, for example its 2500, is that per each rocket or for all 3? Pls answer

That would be per rocket not for all 3. At level 1 the Trident does 2401 dmg per shell. According to their site there are 3 shells so that would be 2401 x 3 or 7203 dmg if you had 3 on a Fury. Hope that helps.

emilio mohanna each rocket with huge splash damage radius. All weapons damage is per individual shot, bullet, or missile each. Some wpns fire more than one shot at a time like Magnums(2) or Tarans(4).

Correct me if I'm wrong here. I think you have changed your mind on the western bots. I insisted that having the same weapons on the Doc or Butch is most effective setup but you said you would prefer different ranges in the swap. I am most impressed by how you can fire 4 Tulumbas altogether and bring the enemy bot to like half its health and inflict critical damage.

GĦOŞT RIDER The reason why I said different ranges is because at the time the cool down was too long. Now it actually makes sense because of the Quick Draw actually being "quick". It makes a huge difference when it comes to composition.

The Doc is a lot like the Fujin. I tend to lean towards Orkans, Tarans and Tulumbas. As for what I would personally run it depends on what's out there. If I find plasma rips through shields then the Taran build is appealing to me. If not that then the Orkan build.

Sumit Adhikari You can only win the Jesse, Doc and Butch during special events. We just had the Birthday Special Event last week but that has ended now so you can't get the Doc anymore. The next event the Doc will then become available.

You must be referring to the prototype weapons we were testing on the test server a while back. There was blue and red trebs I think but for different ranges. I don't think those weapons will make it to the live server as the feedback seemed relatively negative.

There's a good chance I would yes. However... I see it currently like a Rog but with more firepower. I like the Orkan build but even the Tulumbas one is deadly.

I would go for Orkans. Get at least 2 then after that save for the 5th hangar slot or if you feel your lineup needs speed then maybe the Galahad after.

for those who play with a Leo : one thunder and 3 magnums.. change one Magnum for a punisher and take on a fujin or carnage or anything else with a ancine shield. even when it hides you can shoot the aura's reach and blow it away in 5seconds from 500 meter. try it..

Vortex 2917 since i changed one Magnum to a punisher i get the feeling i cut right trough the ancile shields.. also while approaching witch i had less when i used the 3 magnums iso 2+punisher (lvl 10)

A Thunder will blow away the shield quickly even from a long distance because the ancile shield is such a big target. By the time you get into effective range the Thunder will be all charged up. A few shots along the way will keep that shield down. Magnums are energy weapons and aren't affected by the shield. Ditch the Punisher.

I use the Leo between my Griffin pins/tulumbas and Griffin EP mag/taran to overcome the 500/300m and on paper the punisher isn't that bad. (I don't have another EP mag yet) Another question; how come I go up against all lvl 10 and 11 + 70% 5 mechs filled with ore robots like Fury/Zeus or Fury/trident, Galahad/EP mag,orkan or taran. Lancelot/thunder, orkan or taran.. While i play with 2 griffin lvl 6 weapons lvl 8 to 9 (just one thunder lvl 10 and punisher lvl 10) Do I need to upgrade my mechs firsth or keep upgrading my weapons? Ps: i just bought Orkans and aphids but aren't on a bot yet and are still lvl 5 maybe they take that already in account..

Wait what? Are you kidding me!? -Doc's ability was good on 14 seconds for it's "Raw" state. But going much more higher in it's 1st buffed state!? 15 seconds!? -The HP, I don't mind about if it's in 145k but it's ability has to be shortened to like 11-12. -Speed is of course normal to all medium bots as we know (Rogatka could be the best example for the fastest med bot.) What's your thought and what buff is really needed for Doc, Adrian? Because I find him very good.

But I also wanted to see Butch in it's prime: -He is still useless/less-competitive on silver-gold tiers as the Wild West bots are known as silver tier bots. -Butch was the only bot that need so many buffs due to it's disadvantages. Doc & Jesse are doing good, hope the Wild West bots/The American bots will turn to it's prime state.

Icarūs HuntzŪ butch is actually quite powerful, if you saw the live stream his ablity was shortened to 20 seconds which means 4 max trebuchet every 25 or so secs

I do know about his buffs, the only thing I focus about him is his stats, not his ability cool down (Yes, I do actually care about it.) But you've to try him out and see what his good and not good at. That's why he is still in his raw stat. But thx for your opinion of Butch, I also like those bots from now on! Good luck mate!

Icarūs HuntzŪ For the Doc I mentioned in my feedback they should test the cool down time at 10 seconds. If it's too powerful then they know the middle-ground must be between 10 seconds and 15 seconds. As for the Butch, I had to really think about how to balance that bot. You will see what I have to say in tomorrow's video (I will have it in the video description).

Alright guys guess who would win. A Fujin lvl 10 with 3 Lvl 10 orkans or A lvl 10 Doc with 4 Lvl 10 orkans? Answer: A Fujin because I played the Fujin (Same level) vs the doc (Same level too) with same Lvl weapons and the Fujin had a shield so it would buy so time for the doc to wear the shield down.But while he's doing that Fujin is causing too my damage.Same with the doc corner shooting the Fujin can shoot and splash damage.Also with different weapons like the tarans you can shoot but a Lvl 10 Fujin has a top speed of 40 so it will take damage but it will run to cover I know this because I play the Fujin with 3 Lvl 10 orkans vs doc with 4 Lvl 10 orkans

The Doc has bow claimed the title for fastest overall medium bot with 51 km/h, 1 km/h faster than a Galahad, makes up for low health. Still think it wont be able to be a knifer though, Carnage Thunders and PDBs will shred this bot without a problem

That's why I think the cool down time needs to be reduced in order for it to be balanced. It would be able to switch weapons and carry a big payload but at the expense of lower HP and a more exposed bot. In a way it reminds me of a Carnage and Fujin. Deadly when caught off guard but easy to bring down.

Adrian Chong Yes, a Lancelot took half ypur health down before you even finished unloading your first set of Orkans, and that was at 150m, for a Doc to be a knifer, it needs more health and better cooldown times, right now I still dont see a place for the Doc, its a mid ranger but the Fury and Carnage out-class it in nearly every way and Im not sure the Doc will be able to compete

Hard to say. If there's a few of these in a group with say Tarans that's a lot of damage being delivered in a short time. I don't even think shielded bots would stand much of a chance. However... that only becomes a factor if they lower their cool down times.

Adrian Chong Keep in mind Brit Bots are more common than the Wild West so far, so seeing a group of these equipped with Tarans would be rare, TBH if I saw a group of Stalker running at me I would be a afraid, a group of anything is hard to deal with, let alone a group of Doc's. But I think a Fury Trident would be able to suppress the Doc's for long enough for the enemy team to find a way to kill the group easily

Frog240000 [WWR] I would get the Rhino first. After that get the Carnage then get the Fujin.

Adrian Chong in general. like on a griffin or Galahad or even Lancelot. I realise the orkan needs to load but it probably does more damage in the 3 second it take to unload.. so yeah in general.

In general you need both :) Tarans do a lot of damage when out in the open but if you're in a small confined area like if there is a spawn raid about to happen then the Orkan is the best since it delivers that damage so quickly and with splash.

Adrian Chong thanks, yeah i understand. it's true that with the taran you hit your target more in the open while with the orkan you need to be sure your aim is right and sometimes the left hits and the right doesn't as much (closeby or in the air) and this totally changes when you got one pinned to the wall.

Orkans are important because it's a Rhino and Lancelot's worst nightmare. Anything with a physical shield can't block Orkans.
