Fun fact: The FCM (the first tank Dollar takes out in this video) used to be a Reserve Vehicle for France, but it was *so bad* that it actively prevented people from starting the French tree, so it was removed, and later added back in as an optional vehicle. Dollar is playing true French Hardmode to using it first.

I went back and spaded all 3 of the removed French vehicles and i can confirm it was cancer. That APCR bounced off the weakest armor at point-blank range😂 My friend/squadmate was laughing his a** off watching me.

Half true. When France was first added all reserve tanks were usable including FCM, granted they were hard to use and overall bad tanks but were still usable. It was removed when Gajin implemented standarized penetration calculations for all shells. Then penetration gone so bad as we see it today and then they were removed. Same as Ha-go in Japanese tree.

It was so bad it only got hits. And to think it is buffed now...the cone of horror and many broken keyboards. 😂Phly his video on it is hilarious when it was bad. Well,'was'...I feel justified bringing Phly up because i was one of the first people who nagged him about Dollar Plays in every video he made back then. 😆💪🤜👏🤝👍

people who grinded france and japan the f2p way are heroes. if it wasn't for the FL10 and Chi Nu 2 i would still be at reserves for those nations.

you find grinding france f2p hard? you weren't there when it was released thats for sure wrong armor values, wrong pen values, bad br rating... i became a better player just by playing france cause it was so hard

@@Matt.71after the penetration and shell changes the Vehicles were on the tech tree because they were actually playable, Only after the changes they removed them, they were not hard to play at all

My two nations' grind . Japan for the Type 99, France for the pain but so much different types of tanks, that it is fun anyway. Hard, but rewarding.

Fun fact: when France got added, Sa18 gun (that is on FCM and early H35) had APHE as well. In 2019, when Gaijin switched from historical pen values to DeMarr formula, that APHE got a huge nerf (before, it was barely useable anyway with about 29mm of pen), to i believe about 13 mm of pen and fuze sensitivity remained at around 15 mm (yes, the pen was lower than fuze sensitivity). Shortly after, APHE got removed.

De Marre was the worst thing they did to the game. It absolutely destroyed German SPAA and 20/37mm unhistorically. They had HVAP for AT dual role use, in game it doesn't even model the cermet cores.

@@DOLLARplays I remember Phly played it just before it was removed and i checked in his video, it was even worse. FIller was 1.5g of TNT with fuse sensitivity of 25 mm with 13mm of pen at 10 meters 0 degree angle and at 10 meters and 60 degrees it had whooping 4mm of penetration

unplayable no, but is it really all that fun? I installed for cool jets and maybe some tanks on the side, to get there I'd have to spend 6-7 months playing when those are what's advertised as the main game, kinda misleading but not a big issue, bigger issue is how unfun the modes are that give you boosters, it's like cock and ball torture for 15 minutes so your grind is .1% easier ESPECIALLY as a new player, the tank one you spawn in against heavy armored ai and your spawn is 3 of their firing lines on the map I normally get(I wish I'd get a different one, once I got a different map) and the air one is just annoying cause of how far away they spawn, for no fuckin reason, 'new enemies have spawned" it's cool announcer dude, it'll take em 10 minutes to get here.@@alexmurphy6574

I think being a long grind makes it what it is. If there wasn't progression u had to die for, people would get bored and leave until new vehicles were added. No incentives to play it more after unlocking and spading for some.

Having been gone from the game for 8 years and recently coming back, it was like playing the game for the first time. I have been free to play and mostly on the Swedish tech tree, which didn't exist back when I played, so it's nearly the same experience as this series, except my scores are terrible. I did buy the SAV because... I suck at the game and I want to feel the power fantasy, don't judge me. :P One of the greatest joys of playing War Thunder again has genuinely been this channel. Your humor and the amount of editing you put in makes it watchable even if you don't play WT. I don't generally sub to one game channels because when my ADD ass wants to move on to the next game it will just be there forever. But I have no doubt I will watch you even if I stop playing. The content is just that good. How do you even manage to find all the memes? Incredible. Hope you have a nice vacation with your family and you eat good, fill up on sleep and happy memories. :)

back when i started grinding the french tech tree, H.35 was the stock tank, it had 35mm pen APCR as its only shell... needless to say it was even more painful that now. what saved me was getting lucky enough to get a b1 bis talisman from one of the crates you sometimes get after a battle. that carried me through the entirety of tier 2 and tier 3 until i unlocked m4a4 sa50.
