I read about Alexander Pokryshkin because I thought the MiG-3 had potential. I searched the internet for MiG-3 aces, to read up on their opinions and insights. After reading Pokryshkin's advice, my MiG-3-15 was finally competitive in the game. If Gaijin is trying to nerf Pokryshkin's P-39 for the sake of Russian bias, well, comrade Pokryshkin had that problem in real life. 😅 The next plane he liked after the MiG-3 was the P-39. He kept his regiment equipped with P-39s long after his superiors thought he should switch to a Russian-made plane. It was one of several reasons they looked for ways to accuse him of insubordination or disloyalty. Switching to the La-5, at an early stage of its development, might have actually nerfed his whole regiment.
Pokryshkin's P-39's Nerf isnt what you would think. Its down to the AP round. The Russians never asked nor received the AP round. Its half the ammo belt that doesnt really do much and really limits the aircrafts damage output!
A 4.0 plane at 3.0 - it got me from never touching the Soviet tree all the way to the MiG-9 together with the K one at rank 2. A friend gifted it to me because it told her how much I enjoy the K version and that I love its design. I can't thank her enough for this, it's lots of fun and stupidly overpowered. Add to this that you usually play weaker players... yeah, it's a seal clubber only held back by the incompetence of Soviet team - you can't carry every match and I already lost in this thing 2 or 3 times after getting 8+ kills.
Thats really kind of your friend! Friendship is a really great thing to have in life! I should know, i have a female friend i've known since i was 3... We are both now 23! This plane really is great, always loved it. But its a shame they keep finding some way to hamper it. In this case, a unhistorical 37mm belt
Yes indeed, I agree with everything you say. The full HE belts were so satisfying... and now they are gone. If Gaijin knows that this one is OP, they could as well improve its BR: I'd love to see it at 4.0, it would be more adequete for its performance and you would get some more challenging battles.
@@steffent.6477 I used to be the same, but i recommend binding the 37mm to left mouse and 50cal to right mouse. it helps to be able to only see its bullet
