We hope you enjoy this objective look at both games, and have a lovely festive time. We'd also like to thank our sponsor NordVPN for greenlighting this advert. Check out their holiday season deal. Go to nordvpn.com/squirevpn to get a 2-year plan plus 1 additional month with a huge discount. We hope you don't mind a pre-roll, but such adverts have allowed us to start paying some money toward our regular voice actors for their efforts, which is brilliant.
Imagine being Squire's neighbour, just looking out the window to see your neighbour in blond wig and a smoking jacket, getting garrotted by a clown during one of his December BBQ parties..
In WoWP, the default controls are mouse and ailerons. No rudder control. So if you’re facing a plane with higher maneuverability (say a P-40 vs a Ki-43) then you’re screwed even against bots. I got my start in War Thunder, so I know how to properly use rudder control and have survived against more maneuverable planes. Even so, my win rate is still trash.
As a WOWP player I can confirm that I never even thought about the mid-air parking brake was unrealistic. Which oddly enough makes this video all the more realistic. Happy holidays guys!
I mean, airbrakes exist, but not many planes have them as they are mainly intended for dive bombers, so they dont exceed their maximum speed in a dive. Stukas, SBDs, Helldivers and Me 410s come to mind. But none of them stop on the spot, and you just bleed speed and therefore maneuverability.
To be honest, with the amount of paper vehicles (not to mention the occasional fake) in Wargaming's other "World of" titles, I'm surprised that World of Warplanes is not filled to the brim with Lufwaffe's magical paper planes yet.
@@apex_blue I know that the pancake is real. I'm just wondering why we haven't seen any more absurd paper projects in WoWP (like the swept wing Me 262 or the Fugaku) yet.
@@apex_blue The Flying Pancake (V173) was real and flew, but it was only a wooden proof-of-concept model for the one that's in WoWP, the XF5U "Flying Flapjack".
Yeah, if only every youtuber put a little more into their sponsorship than a droning voice listing the supposed advantages of their sponsors there'd be much less temptation to skip the segment.
or the spawn to be further back than it currently is, like in Arcade where fighters spawns in the air in FRONT of the bombers, not on the airfield BEHIND the bomber spawn. the spawn would need to be behind enough that we'd reach the airfield when most fighters already left the ground
I love seeing this "older" types of videos on the channel, they're more... unique. Also helps a lot of reducing the stress of grinding by publicly making fun of WT issues we've all been into the last decade (holy Snail that went fast).... well, almost a decade.
3:57 I did a speech about the Lancaster and came across the Manchester while doing some research and its amazing when you don't put in the government specs and instead use the Merlin
TheIntrepidVA needs an Academy Award for his stellar voicework in all of Squire's videos as well as the Germans. The production quality is insane, I laughed from start to finish and I've never touched WoWP ever.
i was a world of tanks "pro player" when i started playing warthunder i realized i was a piece of garbage that didnt understand a shit about tanks thank the snail i found warthunder
6:05 Oh dear, I though the German pilot had a fool-proof plan. I guess he forgot to check his ammo in those guns before engaging the American plane. LOL
Well... WoWp is VERY arcade, but i can but quite fun (IMO). I like to play this to "relax" especially when I get tired of WoT. And free gold form chests.
@@Anon-qy7ln Pretty sure the only benefit left is the free gold/prem one can get for WoT by playing WoWP. Before the gampelay rework (when it was still a 15v15 like WoT) I used to play WoWP for like 1 or 2 battles every morning for 30 days free premium every like 40 days. Go in, clean out the bots, get a dozen medals, go to school. And cuss whenever a player appears on the enemy team. Haven't played either since SU-130P
Awesome video as always I love the VA you guys have for the American you have in all your videos and honestly the British banter is top notch as always.
You don't need airplanes Inorder to fly just a good placed rocket and then you could take out bombs with your shovel. Wait does that man have a shovel. Gets hit entire tail falls off
You gotta admit, Wargaming despite not making realistic games manages to retain alot of player base because they don't try to make it actively a Suffer Thunder. That worked for them in WoT, WoWS but I have no idea why it didn't work for them in WoWP. Personally, I think its because people don't intuitively know about tank and ship mechanics so they can't contest it but they actively know that its wrong for planes intuitively so its not as fun. Plus without energy fighting, it purely becomes a fight of pure stats. Oh yeah, I forgot. Regardless, I love the fact that WT and WoW are the exact inversions of each other. WT - Single Spawn = Air Battles WT - Multi Spawn = Land Battles & Naval Battles WoW - Single Spawn = Land Battles & Naval Battles WoWP - Multi Spawn = Air Battles.
Though if the XF5U " Flying Pancake" was actually in WarThunder; it would be a monster as its faster than almost any piston plane, good rate of climb, heavily armed and insanely Durable. The real ones unfortunately had substantial engine vibration issues that were never solved but when it came time to dispose of it; they literally had to use a wrecking ball because it was so tough.
its a shame world of warplanes was as neglected as it was since release. theres times when its honeslty more of a blast than warthunder. also the grind is basically non-existant compared to it.
I truly wish there was a YT button to set for specific YT creators, such that, when a new video is published, the new video is placed at the top of the thumbnails. Squire would be my first choice. I keep missing the videos until days after publication.
As a World of Warplanes player, lemme just put in my two cents. WoWP, as all other WG titles, was never meant to have the same amount of "realism" (Gaijin-levels) as WT. It's meant to be a fun and less grindy Air Arcade, and seeing how much fun I've been having with WoWP, it really is. WT has nailed it's air RB, and I'd say WG has nailed air AB. Plus, unlike the other WG titles, the Devs of WoWP aren't greedy and want to duck your money out of your soul! Either cause they've given up or the team is small enough so they don't need to use questionable PR failures. Granted, since the Germans and other nations didn't put into production planes that would fit high tier in WoWP, WG had to use paper planes. So, we get to fly paper planes like the 262 HGIII, I-211, XF-90 etc. It's quite interesting to see how these planes fare against actual successful jets like the Hawker Hunter and the Sabre in a more unrealistic Arcady environment. The grind isn't that bad in WoWP. Granted, you have to research modules like in WT, most stock grinds aren't very painful. Plus, free-xp is plentiful as you grind down lines, making saving up XP to unlock modules if you can't take the stock plane easier. And since WoWP has a much smaller community when compared to WoT/WoWs and especially WT, players aren't generally as toxic (I'm just going to ignore NA server) as you would see in most other big online games. If you are waiting for a WT update to finish installing/have nothing to do, I recommend trying out WoWP! It's just like ace combat, a game where gameplay may not make sense if you try to picture it in real life, but is pretty fun once you get the hang of it. And also, please do not go to any world of warplanes video and comment "War Thunder better". I get it, you prefer the realism of war thunder
"I paid alot of money for her" *laughs in 24/7 grind for a tank only for another 24/7 grind for the SL required to buy it only to grind for the crew cost*
@@SquireComedy It is always nice to work with good people. Keep up the great content. Your Warthunder vs world of Warwhichever are my favorite vids you guys put out.
@@SquireComedy Sound good to me! Had to pop to Wymondham last year. If I would have known, I would have come to see you. Must be better than Ipswich...
as someone who played both, i must say that it was more fun to grind in wowp than warthunder and the repair costs were A LOT cheaper, but i aint moving from war thunder, the only plane that wowp has that war thunder doesnt is the pankake
remember when he said at the begining of every video "free golden birds for warthunder in the description below." Those were the good ole days but the production has been getting better
Did you shoot content in both games using plane models in each engine? That's incredible! As a player of both games, you're spot on with all the jokes, WOWP has no landing, unlimited ammo, almost impossible team killing and bots galore
As a WoWp player i found the video hilarious!! Very well made!! (The German were a nice touch for the Axis pilots and the voice for the Warplanes pilot represents the average player of WoWp) I would like to add that same rules that apply to WT, apply to WoWp as well, but not as extreme ( even though you can climb a lot with fighters, you cant outclimb a Me410 with a Spitfire for example. Also, guns at high tiers melt HPs so fast that the HP is irrelevant in most planes). Lastly, Warplanes is very fun and easy to access and has seen some (noticable) increase in player base the last year or so. My take is give it a try, even though its a Walmart WT, there is great fun to be had!!
There is marathi saying tuz maz Jame na tuuya Vina karmena Meaning well we could never get along yet we could never live without each other This describes our relationship with warthunder
1:58 literally the best part about the whole video and the thuth about the stupidity of german players willing to go down to the deck or chase a bomber for 10 minutes
