Some highlights of Warbirds Over Wanaka 2024, held in New Zealand over Easter weekend. Some of the aircraft featured include:
- USAF F-16
- De Havilland Gipsy Moth, Tiger Moth, Dragon Rapide and Mosquito
- Supermarine Spitfire
- P-51D Mustangs
- Goodyear FG-1D Corsair
- Reno racer and record holder Yakovlev Yak-3 Steadfast
- Aero L-39 Albatros flown by the American Eagles formation team
- BAC Strikemasters
- De Havilland Canada Chipmunk
- Hughes 500C
- Hiller UH-12E
- and others I don’t remember right now!
My apologies for the video and sound quality as this was filmed on an iPhone, but hopefully it tides over the hardcore enthusiasts until the professionals release the good stuff!

Wow fantastic footage of Warbirds over Wanaka 2024. On an IPhone 11. I had the privilege in January to get a tour around AVSpecs in Ardmore Auckland and so close to the latest Mossie a beautiful aircraft. Thanks for giving me a look at this air show. You rock

Something the commentator should know: Waco is an abbreviation of 'Weaver Aircraft Company' and is not pronounced 'Way-co' as is Waco Texas, rather it is pronounced 'Wah-co'.

Unfortunately commentators fluctuated between proununciation, but fear not: the full name of the company was stated each time the aircraft flew 👍

Thanks! We were fortunate to have TWO Blunties - Charles Davis’ RNZAF example from Wellington and Brian Hall’s Royal Saudi AF machine from Christchurch (my first time seeing that one).
