During BlizzCon 2018 we got live gameplay demos of the Warcraft 3 Culling of Stratholme mission. It began with a fully animated cutscene. At launch, we got something much different. #ign
@@0A01amir it's not that they're blind, it's what many fans wanted (I'll never understand why though... If you wanted to play the original campaign with better graphics, you could open the old maps in the new game)
Venom Rules All that was just the excuse Blizzard used. There is absolutely no excuse not to include a remastered and classic version in such a package.
Nah, 3 people who do this for no money but for their own passion do a lot better job. Meanwhile, if you have ever read a book, this was bound to happen with all large corporations.
Wow, it's almost as if that's exactly what it's supposed to be. I hate defending Blizzard, but honestly what were you expecting? It's just remastered WC3, its not supposed to be WC4.
@@iamishin7675 Sane people were expecting much better terrain quality, at least SOME lightning improvements, better animations, cutscenes like in 2018 footage, better visual effects and other QOL improvements. What people got are just OK models of Units. That's it. Blizzard are just pathetic at this point.
Makes sense. Reminds me of the time when Samsung released that ridiculous folding smart phone and I showed them how disappointed I was by throwing my Samsung TV out of the window.
Way worst than you may thought actually, Blizzcon are the true definition of Reforged while release version graphics seems lesser than PS2 which is laughable.
Lets hope that the backlash from this would force Blizzard to act, but knowing the leadership at Activision-Blizzard they will likely not react in any way and just conclude that "gamers must really hate RTS games these days....lets not make another RTS game ever again".... The sad matter of fact is that Reforged team was too small and didnt have enough resources to pull this off, most of Blizzard staff is working at WoW expansions, Diablo IV, Overwatch 2 or other unannounced games....but really it seems they have no more sense of pride/quality control that they used to have
this is the issue with Heroes of the Storm. reducing the team and abandoning custom games and the HGC was a killer for the game. it's not dead but i dont see HotS growing much. Just a cash grab in the end.
@@spiderbrood3391 true, but then again I understand plans can change during development. But ultimately they should have never tried to do something like that if they were not absolutely sure they could pull it off within the time they had. And atleast inform the community/players better than they did, because the only place they mentioned about this was at Blizzcon
WoW Classic has the same issue, small underfunded team, basically a skeleton crew. Meanwhile the game makes millions and millions of dollars just from monthly subs... Servers that can't handle 4 focking raids in the same place, for example buffing Onyxia in Orgrimmar on sunday takes anywahere between 10 and 20 minutes, in 2020. Truly a shame to see what became of a once great company like Blizzard.
An absolute scam. They kept it in beta for months under the illusion of major development, when actually all the game had was a new HD texture pack. It’s basically the original renamed and sold for £25/$30 which is double the price it should be. Stripped of features, no mods and a limited multiplayer so it doesn’t cost them much money to maintain going forward. I can’t believe people actually bum this company still.
Let's be honest now. It all went down the hill, from a quality point-of-view, when they expanded to the new "markets" in East and south-east Asia. Cheap products but with poor quality, like so many things from that region. No offense intended, but I know my _Made in PRC_ plastics and how much they last.
That's a typical Blizzard tactics. We've seen it many times from Blizzard. Every small feature or DLC (they call it an expansion, and sell it for like $25-30). Nothing new to me
There is one theory thet they are actuely blizzard empolys Edit: they didnt plan to actualy remaster game Edit 2: they wanted to cower up actual gameplay
This is insulting, I would at least expect some mind blowing graphical upgrade on this to bring back old memories but wtf? Even took the look of the cutscenes. Blizzard get it together 😒
Resident Evil 2 was remake not a remaster. A remaster is when an existing game has its visuals updated. A remake is when you recreate an existing game from scratch.
It doesnt even take that much extra effort to animate the ingame models to talk and emote. Their polycounts are akready high enough to mimic the Blizzcon cutscene. They are literally standing there moving their mouths and emoting with their arms. Animators could wipe that up in a week or 2.
@@MegalongMusic i dont fully adrestend your question but i will try to answer it Ign dont like bad press but hate being responsiblo for there content in eys of game publishers And they didnt crate this comperison video
This just killed any desire I had to get this game. I was seriously looking forward to it, too. I loved WC3. Was going to get it this weekend. What's the point if it's just a texture overhaul.
Do you know what is even worse? The original Warcraft III doesn't exist. It forces you to update your client to Reforged. You can play it without buying Reforged if you have the orignal keys but you're essentially playing Reforged with original models with all the problems and missing features Reforged has.
@@arkasii It's still not the original client. It's just Reforged with "Classic" graphics which are still a downgrade from original client as you don't have access to lighting or shadows in "Classic" Reforged which makes graphics much flatter looking than they used to be. And it's missing several features that original client has. Also it has changed the balancing in RoC campaign as Reforged works all together with TFT balancing.
OMG, I just realized what was bothering me all this time, they just took Hero of the Storm assets and used them for Warcraft 3 reforged release, the 2018 was a redo but they scrap it and went with what assets they have in possession for a quick turnaround. That was why it looked so familiar to me.
Yes, and they updated the EULA so anything you make in the map maker is their property and they don’t have to credit you. They made it so that DOTA could never happen again, and most gamemodes that borrow from other IPs will be taken down through their copyright system. They are a truly scummy company I hope Bethesda doesn’t follow in their footsteps.
On the plus side it's quite easy to find a free disc file for the original Warcraft III online if you know where to look. Who said digital piracy is a bad thing?
Funny how no one is including the 2019 Blizzcon where they walked back all the 2018 changes. 2018 Blizzcon new changes. 2019 Blizzcon due to player feedback (I suspect lack of pre-orders) no new changes. 2020 Blizzard released the product based on pre-order interest.
The answer is simple really. Leading to the end of 2018 blizzard's stock dropped by almost 30%. As a result of poor performance, they fired 800 employees. This in turn, led to a huge budget slash on the WC3:Reforged project and they could no longer make the changes that were promised. Now they blamed it on the consumers feedback.
@@kleash Sorry that is not it. Warcraft III: Reforged was done by the same Malaysian game developer who created the Starcraft reforged. I suspect Blizzard slashed the budget because there was no interest past Blizzcon. Low pre-orders and overall negative feedback from the WC3 player community.
@@Dularr Well my feedback after the announcement was pretty darn positive and I'm an old school wc3 player. As Pete Stillwell has said, WC3:R was meant to be an overhaul of the game while SC:R was more of just a HD remaster.
Was actually going to buy it despite all the hate until I saw this. How can they so blatantly try to scam so many people? Especially Warcraft 3 fans, the original fanbase. Its a slap in the face..
