If it isn’t WC3 isn’t getting an update, would love to see WC1 or 2 get a remaster to bring them up to be like WC3; new cinematics, character interactions. If they do a massive WC3 update/new campaign I hope we get WoW expansion recap campaigns. Imagine reliving the story of the expansions through the RTS. Pipe dream I know but one can hope
They will make it so that Warcraft 1 and 2 will launch in 15 minutes after you run the executable instead of immidiently like they did with Diablo 2: Resurrected.
To all Warcraft 3 lovers, I suggest a fanmade custom campaign It is called Warcraft Re Reforged I promise you, you will be surprised by how good it is, there are trailers if you want, but experiencing it is better than the trailers.
They probably aren't going to be able to walk back all of the changes that REALLY pissed everyone off, like laying waste to all the custom maps, but this is their chance to at least try to progress the RTS game. Who knows, maybe they'll actually give us graphical updates and cutscenes that don't look like D-grade student projects.
Just to TLDR my other message, and to highlight the important potential misunderstanding here. The version number 2.0.0.22230 is referencial. 2002 (WC3's release year) 22 (how many years WC3 has been out for) 30 (how many years the Warcraft franchise has been out for) Not impossible for them to use this clearly anniversary inspired number, but that's what my other post discusses. Just need to point out what too many people are missing. This may just be ARG marketing for the anniversary.
I'll be interested if they do a storyline from wc1 up to Legion (maybe?). Drop the space goats (even though I know it won't happen), and the wind chimes, and we're Gucci.
The change to the version number was one of two things in my mind, a mistake by someone unfamiliar with WC3's version numbering system, or an intentional ploy to get people's attention and get them talking and ramping excitement for something that might just be "hey, we finally got round to finishing everything we promised". Why? Because a genuine 2.0 would be something so significant that there is no way it would be free. It would be a new product that will have a shelf price, or some one of the newer more obnoxious business models. Not only that, by a WC 4 would be it's own product, not some messy bolt on to a game that is still contentious. So why 2.0? Well, "2.0" isn't the important thing here, "2.0.0.22230" is important. 2002 (the year of release of WC3), 22 (how many years WC3 has been out for) 30 (how many years Warcraft franchise has been out for). This is not an actual planned patch number nor is it a goof. It's an attempt at ARG marketing. Its an attention grab. A "hey, look over here, this product will be involved in the anniversary" statement. This in mind, that doesn't mean there wont be a WC4 announce, it just wont be something that affects WC3:R, it'll be its own thing if it does happen. Reforge itself may well get an update, most likely the new VO and cinematics that were promised originally, and hopefully completely new models that are made in-house this time instead of being outsourced to some unimpassioned third party developer. Not much of a selling point, I agree, but ideas like new campaigns based around WoW lore, alternative post WC3 reality telling a different story from WoW are just too wishful in my eyes, and far too much work for a divisive remaster. That said, using the WC3:R product to tell the entirety of the EXISTING Warcraft RTS, starting with either the Orc or Human campaign from WC1, _is_ something I can see happening, and I can see that triggering a version flip _and_ us getting it for free, but future campaigns from the rest of WC1 and WC2 will absolutely be charged for _if_ the free campaign garners enough positivity.
With the current state of World of Warcraft, getting warcraft 3 instead or even warcraft I or Warcraft II is certainly positive for those that miss the core of what warcraft was. (warcraft I and II are sadly a bit too old school to play these days, so a remake would be nice.)
@@ResmeAlex I would be happy if they just update the graphics, optimize the game, add cutscenes and a new optional UI, like the one showcased in the demo. Additionally, I would like an overhauled menu and a few reworked missions.
@@HawkknightXC88 Excuse you? They were supposed to be similar to the ones we have in WoW, and what did we get? some generic asian mmo looking trash. The fact that they OUTSOURCED the models aswell just speaks volumes of their QA.
I would rather see some restoration of Wow zones, so they can remind again the zones before or during warcraft 3. So much efforts put in reforging W3, leaving Azeroth outdated...
This is actually what we don't need, or vast majority don't want this. Wc3 is iconic and has the biggest community of all Warcrafts. It would be nice to have the first two parts remastered as well, of course, but it is not a big thing.
So is Warcraft 4 going to be a continuation after the World Soul Saga or some sort of RTS adaptation of the story of World of Warcraft Vanilla? If so, is Warcraft 5 going to be an adaptation of the story of Burning Crusade and Warcraft 6 is an adaptation of Wrath of the Lich King?
As long as WoW is still alive there won't be a Warcraft 4 since the main lore continues in WoW. Period. Not only that but RTS gaming is kinda dead now or at least somewhat... undead.
Reforged was not as bad as people whined about. Where there things worse than the OG? For sure, like the Illidan & Arthas fights. Otherwise it was just fine. I got to play the game yet again for the 500th time and with better graphics. Buttttt if they are making it even better than of course i'm all game and will for sure snatch it up and waste more of my life in the WC universe.
"Something new, but not. You'll love it!" That's bait. To further drive home the point, look what they are doing in WoW, selling players a reskinned ground mount for the anniversary. $90, more than the price of the game itself, for a ground-only mount. Stop being paypigs! Blizzard fans deserve better than this!
Oh yeah, great news... Because the last WC3 remake was so good eh? Jesus fucking christ. Also, by the time the released WC3, Blizz was by no means a small indie company, lol. They were already pretty big by then, due to the massive success that was diablo 2 years prior.
id Software, Bungie, Rockstar, Epic Games and Blizzard. All tiny indie studios, lmao Indie studios weren't a thing until... 2008? Fez, world of goo, castle crashers, etc. Those were actual indies.
Maybe they can even make it finally playable, WASD camera controls instead of that arrowkey crap. Or atleast having ESC as the menu button and not F10.
