To put things into a correct perspective, it's not the fault of the small team that worked on it. It's the fault of the management which did not believe in the project. From the research I did and the info I found they didn't want to allocate the proper / efficient amount of people and resources to the project because they plainly thought it's not gonna make them as much money as their other titles like COD, WoW Etc.... And so they drastically cut the budget and the amount of people working on it, which resulted in art being outsourced to a company in Malaysia or the Philippines I can't remember now which it was and the rest of the promises not fulfilled.
@@GameplayRealm101 my gosh those the management don’t know they need reclaim their reputation? The blizzard weapons are his reputation and wasted it for whatever reason
The problem is not really the guy doing it but the guy above him accepting or refusing the work at the end. And the size of the team as well as the bugdet both in time and money.
They should really just license all their work out for money and let fans do stuff with it. Maybe sell a program that allows all licenses for any work derived from ownership of that program. After that they should fire all blizzard developers.
This is why I wish trademark/copyright BS wasn't as strict. Passion always drives better products than purely profit driven motives. That game is damn near 20 years fuckin old, they had more than enough time to profit off their creation. Time to open things up for fans. Whether or not fans want to do it for donations, commissions, whatever let willing bodies do the work. Blizzard really should just be paying these people themselves and officially sanctioning stuff like this. It would literally be cheaper than them trying to get some lazy dev team to do it anyways. It's obvious a lot of the current Blizzard devs don't enjoy being there. They take fan favorite characters and take a steaming dump on them. Or forget they exist entirely. So they can show preference to their newly created characters and lore instead which nobody gives a flying fuck about. Even in a perfect world where Bobby kotik himself decided to allow the work on a proper WC3 reforged game, and potentially the other two games as well... it wouldn't be getting made by people that care about the franchise. It'd be getting made by the people that want to censor a funny dryad joke or turn a portrait of a woman into a fruitbowl.
I disagree with the copyright suggestion. It basically discourages innovation and new IPs, but allows older IPs with a base to decide the direction of the brand like a union or committee.
That's a first problem. This man done all this work just with enthusiasm. The regular workers in the indy or not idny companies works only for money. If a company have a lack of money, then workers will done their job equal to payment. That's why we got what we got
While the scenery InsaneMonster has created is beautiful, the fact is that not every step should trigger a cinematic, and non-important cinematics shouldn't be stretched and long. For example, in the horde tutorial level golem is hands down a great cinematic. I would leave it in game as is, and probably up the stats on that golem so that it would feel like a mini-boss encounter and would require micro in order to save your units. But many previous cinematics are time-stretched beyond their function, like arriving at the camp. Also there's so much camera rotation and panning and waiting. When Medivh flies above Thrall it only shows how Thrall turns his head, a wider shot with the crow would be great. Then there's so much waiting after all the lines. My point is cinematics can be overdone and it's bad when Blizzard lies to you and doesn't do them at all, but when they're overdone and overstretched and some of them directed non-optimally, it's also not ideal. Of course I love IM's work so that's intended to be a constructive criticism.
Now why couldn’t of Blizzard go with this extremely impressive build. It’s far, far better in every conceivable way. Hats off to the moders who made this art. Fight the power! 👍🥰
Modder, there's one person. It's not a game company with a ton of resources, it's a single person with a hobby and a job they have to fulfill 5 days a week.
Overall these are fantastic, the extra camera work alone really gives the characters personality and makes it feel like you are a part of the story. However, offering a bit criticism, a number of the re-reforged scenes feel weirdly drawn out or don't fit the mood. As an example the ending Hearthglen scene starts off great with a close up of Arthas and his army being pinned down and overrun. But then Uther arrives, kills a few ghouls, and then the rest of the army slowly approaches or just stands there. It almost immediately took any urgency away from the scene which is a shame because I think the setup was nice and intense. (Also Jaina randomly being there before Uther and his army is odd but I'm not sure if that is an in-game change that was made so I won't include it as a nitpick) Again I want to say that the majority of these changes are major improvements and I am really looking forward to seeing more of these. I'm just offering criticism in areas I think could be further improved. Edited: I just read that this video showcased an early version so maybe what I just wrote isn't relevant anymore but I'll keep this opinion posted anyways.
The worst thing that Blizzard keep doing over and over, is ruining their older content. Like, we could have just called reforged bad and be done with it, but hey forced you to replace the original and now you can't even get the original. Just why?
Because EULA. They lost out on DoTA so in order to ensure that doesn't happen again they need to own anything you create for that game. Hence the new terms and conditions in the EULA. But they can't force new terms and conditions onto the old game that people own already and were still playing so they discontinue the old game/servers and force everyone into the new system.
@@kamma44 Yeah but they do nothing with it. Create a ladder based on the best games made and then pay the best mapmakers and port the best ones to apps (in a blizzard app store) or make a full game out of it. They're sitting on tons of potentially multibillion dollar genres. You almost want them to be greedier but they're too dumb to be that greedy and now we get them playing catch up in the app store for missing out on tricking toddlers to adolescents out of their money by manipulating their dopamine. Like be greedy, you have a whole community of people already trying to make your work better. You succeeded. You were the gamer's gaming company. You have it all, stop screwing it up.
The first problem is in money. This man done all this work just with enthusiasm. The regular workers in the indy or not idny companies works only for money. If a company have a lack of money, then workers will done their job equal to payment. That's why we got what we got. And that is a cruel true, which many people ignored, when talking about fan-made projects
It's amazing how much better this game is when the story is given respect and love. Look at these differences? Hearthglen was one of my favorite missions in WC3 because it was a turning point in the story where you see the cracks forming. In the re-reforged, there is so much more detail! They even have the villagers, who have eaten the plagued grain, appear kinda sick in the background while the footman addresses Arthas + co. That level of storytelling is so good it's infuriating. Blizzard didn't just drop the ball, they kicked it and laughed while people cried. Edit for context: I am so angry about the damage they have done to this that I can't even get all of my thoughts out or spell.
I don't know, I still kind of like the original cartoon version better than both upgrades. WC was never meant to be taken too seriously and the cartoon style emphasized that, but when you bring things closer to looking realistic it just takes away that ability to see it as nothing but a fantasy. (I don't know if I'm explaining this right, but it makes sense in my head). but with that said, I do still like the Re-Reforged look better, you can feel the love and effort put into the remake.
I disagree, mainly because I don't understand the point of WC being "nothing but a fantasy" (if I understand correctly). For example game's cinematics were always serious and dark, and they are one of the most iconic features of this franchise.
@@МолчаливыйКлинок It's just a personal feeling, I grew up on the cartoon and the cgi of old so I'm mainly projecting my nostalgia with my distaste for modern gamming.
@@AlexanderKirkpatrick agree. i personally love the cartoony graphics of W3. i wouldn't mind the realistic and detailed update if it weren't for the fact that the characters now look like from a generic mobile mmo ad :// (also creating detailed designs for EVERY single character in a game that lets you control a lot of individual units is not a good idea)
hey, big companies, here's a little secret: your products are still alive because of we fans, if it depended on you they would be dead and you'd be forgotten.
This Understandable Cinematic Re-Reforged Warcraft 3 is much better than Reforged Warcraft 3 with a broken scripts sentences and not showing cinematic parts. Do you guys agree what I’m saying?
К сожалению, официальной даты релиза у него пока нет. Работа продвигается медленно, но верно. На этом этапе вы можете принять участие в прологе и всей человеческой истории.
57:00 I don't care either way, but the Jaina's Meeting interlude rework is aesthetically high-IQ - he put the comedic gag to the beginning (showcasing the Reforged golem), and teleported Jaina and Antonidas to a secluded library because the topic is touchy. 01:02:44 On the other hand, it pains me to see him turn Thalassian Elves... black. But hey, all Americans are Blizzard-tier in this regard. - Adûnâi
Reforged initially planned to use animations pretty close to motion captured cutscenes, things they do for world of warcraft in cutscenes like jaina summoning the kultiran fleet. But the thing is that the amount of cutscenes you'd need to do in war3 to accommodate for everything in the game would be larger in quantity then several wow expansions. Obviously that wasn't a good choice because it spends too much resources on something that wasn't as important, yet ReReforged uses a mix of new and classical cutscene creation method and marries it to do improvements on the retail product. Quite clever.
To think the guy is working for free, and Blizzard can claim his project as actual canon anytime... (tbh he didn't polish the models, didn't create alternative skins to differentiate between talking generic units and didn't create new animations to show different emotions, so to my senses it's still not up to the enormous standards that Blizzard initially put in the Blizzcon showcase, but it's a 11/10 job nonetheless)
One passionate fan vs. greedy multi-billion company with zero love for their game. W3 Reforged is what happens if you ONLY do your work for MONEY and nothing else. This happens when you don't care about your fandom, your customers. I spit on face of those Activision executives who let this happen.
In my best dreams Blizzard (after merge with MicroSoft) would do Re-Reforged by themeselves or, much better, with the help of passionate community. I'm sure they just have to do it not for money, but to regain reputaion and gamers' faith. Unfortunately, I don't think this is the case, but at least we have such fans, who can create great things to the games they do love. Also, I hope Blizzard will resurrect HotS (MOBA) with help of MS, but still a lot of doubts.
A little bit too much cinematic in my opinion and would have generated a lot of controversy, BUT on the right and proper times , this is a delight, very impressive and amazed to watch. Excellent work!
Not to sound like a shill but I think the extra camera work and fog doesn't really add anything and you could argue that it takes away from the experience of the game by yanking control away from the player, like I'm playing the game I don't want to be interrupted by a cutscene mid-mission
I like most of it, a few odd changes though. Its good more named characters were present in the campaign but it sucks Vol'jin wasn't added, missed opportunity. I thought the elves were pale with blond hair? I may be remembering it wrong though. Aren't they high elves not Night elves? But all up much better than what blizzard did. TBH Blizzard should have remade the game like Starcraft 2 with interactive clicks so a lot more lore and character building could be explored. Unfortunately Blizzard has gone down the toilet with their quality, hopefully they can bounce back.
This is what happens when accountants run creative companies Products get rushed out solely to exploit the consumer Blizzard needs new management. Real devs who love the companies
]Remenber that Blizzard its only a little multi-billion $$$ corporation with very phew thousands of employees, they obviously can't compete with those big powerful single free-lancers in their free time projects.
Omg this is amazing , can you play this game ? Seeing this, I can’t believe Warcraft and StarCraft major IPs have been ignored for candy crush …… I think Microsoft is the only hope. What they did with age of empires was impressive
Hello, you can play it but you need the reforged game. This is a fan made campaign pack so you need to download both of these. So far it is not fully redone, the project still continues.
I really appriciate your hard work brother you are more worthy than billion dollar company who does not care about it's fans and their enjoyment in video games you earned my subscribe for sure brother. ✌🏻🙂
Warcraft deserves so much more than this. The fact that one guy can do better than the whole blizzard team makes me feel bad for having chosen Warcraft as my one and only fantasy world. Nor Harry Potter, nor Lord of the Rings, none fantasy world has amazed me the way warcraft did, and witnessing such a scarcity in resources for such a potential world simply depresses me.
Warcraft III Re-Reforged is what Warcraft III Reforged should have been. This is mind blowing from what a single guy could do, what the entire Blizzard Entertainment company failed to do. Shame on you, Blizzard!
Actualy it is sad that nowdays developers sell half-made games and fan moders comunity do their job and do it a lot better. Never the less this work is just awesome. Re-reforged looks excelent. :)
if you never played w3 before it may be all right, but for me its like they changed all the actors in the movie. Its not enough just to put some green guy in the picture and call it a day, it must be same Thrall but with better graphic, and that guy is no Thrall. I prefer Breaking Bad at 360p than Metastasis 4K
This video made me even more angry towards Blizzard. How can a multi-billion dollar company not do what a fan made with their OWN editor for a couple of weeks or months??? Hope they start loosing money reaaaaally fast these next few years!!! Anyway, superb work, man!
The WC3 gaming community were robbed of what they were promised from Blizzard, so they stood up and said "Fine, we'll do it ourselves", and delivered a better product than Blizzard. Shame on the company, and hail these heroes for their efforts in fixing Blizzard's blunder.
wow just the first one made me realise that having thrall getting out of his hut on his mount is stupid rp wise. Nicely done on the remake to have him walk out and his mount join him
I mean, at this point everybody knows that Warcraft 3: Reforged was a Blizzard spit to their fans, a complete fiasco. But one guy single handedly improving things so much, it's pretty much a big flex for people to realize that they not only made Reforged for pure $wallet collection, but also (with punctual exceptions) they didn't really care to improve it or fix it afterwards since the fans are just capable of doing a faster and better job... being nearly unpaid.
@@GameplayRealm101 sometimes the camera should just change the position instead of fading in. for example 22:45 Senjin comes closer and the camera fades to black and then he's just standing on the same place. it's my small nitpick though, i just feel like the camera fades a bit too much.
I don't know, some of the original camera angles are more dramatic than these new close-ups. Also, I don't know if every single voiced line needs a fade to black and cutscene, fade to black.
If StarCraft strategy game could make more stories, but why Warcraft couldn't do the same? (For those who are not interested in Warcraft RPG games except strategy class games)
From what I know, their excuse was that the WoW is the continuation of Warcraft, that is why. But I bet that the truth is they were worried that if people would play the RTS and would know what would happen faster, story wise, they would lose people on WoW because of the story spoilers and longer grind and by doing so they would lose money as WoW is a subscription game and Warcraft is not ....
Esto Demuestra Que Es Falta De Voluntad Y Trabajo De Blizzard Mejorar Dar Un Mejor Cometido Con Warcraft3. Voy A Comprarlo Solo Por Jugar La Re- Forged
