Ward Kimball's loyal, respectable cricket played some important role in my childhood. I cannot be more grateful for this artist creating him with such an angelic voice to boot. Ward may have not liked how he turned out (which I understand as an artist) but I would not like Jiminy any other way, to be honest.
I will never forget the time I was able to see Ward Kimball in person. In the early 2000s my family and I were seeing a movie at the El Capitan theater and here was this elderly man sitting in the seat in front of me. My parents recognized him, and saw that he was wearing special hat that stated that he was an important Disney animator. We didn’t talk to him, but my parents told me who he was and how lucky we were to have him sit so close to us. I didn’t understand who he was at the time, but later I learned that it was Ward Kimball. I’m so happy I had that opportunity and hearing all the facts they mention at 10:44, considering I unknowingly became an animator myself and I love animating birds. I sometimes wonder if there was some kind of connection between Ward and I during that brief moment when we met that made me who I am today. Big thumbs up!👍 👍

Ward Kimball created Casey Jr the circus locomotive for Dumbo. Do you think you can make a video on that character? I love Casey Jr so much, he's my most favorite cartoon character ever!
Jiminy was a playing against type character for Ward Kimball, because he normally animated goofy, silly, and energetic characters, other than a few small moments Jiminy is nothing like those characters.
