I‘m German/Norwegian. This music scares me.. it’s making me want to live in a log cabin in a cold forest.. ready to raid whatever place possible; instead of going to the office every day. 😆
@@PiracyandDumbbells my dream would be a small goat farm on a hill beside a fjord or the sea, with chickens and ducks. Growing a big garden and grain field would keep me busy.
Half Danish/Native American. And I actually do live in an old rock house/log cabin home in the mountains of Ozark, MO. I only raid those whom come of illicit intensions. 🤙😊
Im half Japanese and German/Scottish and i totally feel Nordic when Listen to that beautiful Voice of Einar even when im not xD Greets from that little Isle of Japan ✌️
If you have Scottish ancestry, there is a good chance that you have Scandinavian heritage from there... As the Vikings did travel to Scottland, even settled there.
@@bobmalibaliyahmarley1551 Scottish isn't Nordic and they've done DNA test's of the entire country, they're entirely Celtic aka R1-Haplop Group. The Vikings where defeated and they only temporarily settled in the Islands where no one lived, Scots lived Exclusively in the Highlands (never occupied, defeated everyone from Hadrian's 9th and 7th Legions, the Anglo-Saxons thereafter (whish is where they get the Saltire Flag), the Vikings thereafter (which is where the Thistle becomes the national symbol) then the Norman English. However they did take the Islands of Orkney and Shetland from the Vikings and colonised many parts of Scandinavia (Scandinavia is like half Celtic people of this, DNA tests prove, Iceland is Entirely Scottish infact, not a drop of Viking). Also FYI Germanic = Half Celtic/Scandinavian (they're made up of the two groups) and Austria is entirely Celtic, Swiss so on so forth, further north you get in Germany towards Denmark the more Scandinavian.
@@NGCS-ej4lz Do you even know Scottish history at all? Or about DNA? To say Iceland is entirely Scottish is inaccurate. Yes, many Scots and Irish women were taken to Iceland, both as wives and as Thralls (Slaves) but it wasn't settled entirely by Scots lol. The Norse settled Iceland. Clan MacNeil, the Clan I belong to via my maternal grandmother, has Norse DNA. They did a Clan wide DNA study a few years ago, look it up. The Clan has a lot of Norse makeup. And to say no one lived in the western Isles before the Vikings is another error since, uh, have you ever heard of the Norse-Gaels? They were a mixture of Norse and Gaelic cultures which could only have happened if Gaels lived in the Isles before the Norse came. Somerled, the great ancestor of Clan MacDonald and Clan MacDougall, was Norse paternally. We know this because the Chiefs of Clan Donald, the direct descendants of Somerled, have Norse DNA. Frankly you're wrong. Very wrong. Its true to say Scotland isn't Nordic, that's true enough, but to say all Scottish people are one hundred percent Celtic isn't. The lowlanders especially would have Anglo Saxon ancestry (therefore Germanic ancestry) given the Kingdom of Northumbria conquered lands there and settled people there. So yes, people in Scotland DO have 'Viking' DNA, particularly around the Isles. Its inaccurate to say they don't when DNA tests show they do. My own family has it as I've mentioned. The Kingdom of the Isles, which was a vassal State to the Kingdom of Norway from roughly 840s to the 13th century, was inhabited by both Norse and Gaels. Its like you want to make it seem the Norse didn't invade, conquer, and mix with the Scottish people, but it was the other way around, that Scots and Celts conquered them? I've never heard of Scots colonizing parts of Scandinavia, I guess Norway, Denmark, Sweden, and Finland must be keeping that under wraps? Seriously dude, you're way off. Scotland was never a homogenous country, hell even the Highlanders and Lowlanders were different culturally, linguistically, and even religiously for centuries and going back further you had the Picts, Scots of Dalriada, the Britons, the Angles, and yes, the Norse. Even the Romans left DNA behind (go see the DNA study of Dumfries) Also the Swiss and Austrians are a mixture of Germanic, Celtic, and Roman settlers. Many different people settled there over time and mixed together. I know because, again, I'm descended from the Swiss and have done my research on Germanic countries. German speaking Swiss are descended from Germanic Alemanni, Celtic tribes, and Romans, just like their French speaking counterparts. You should go back and research more before posting. You're trying to strip Icelanders and others of their Norse heritage which isn't right, to replace it with some sort of pseudohistorical Celtic ideas which are simply not true.
Listening to this song while cooking, I realized that when we live fully from our heart, mind, soul and intent, life becomes one big powerful natural ritual💪🏻❤️
My mom used to love this music. She passed away last year, after 10 months of battling cancer. This is the first time I had the strength to listen to this again. It reminded me that she wasn't just the weak woman cancer turned her into. She used to be an incredibly strong and brave woman too.
Sooo sorry 😣my mom also passed away from cancer ,she was also a strong and brave woman, they are at better place now,but I know how you feel .I miss her so much after all this year. She died 5 years ago.She was too young too go.Wardruna is a really great band

I was a Wardruna fan before I knew Vikings. Now I am fan of both and was delighted to hear their music in the show. Those were often the most memorable scenes.
I actually read that the guy in charge of the score for vikings was extremely unhappy with it. Then he met Einar and found the sound he didn't know he was looking for :)

The lyrics of this song are based on one of the books of Edda: Völuspá, which means "Prophecy of the Seeress" ("Volva" in Old Norse = "witch", "seeress", "wise woman"; hence "voluspa" = "prophecy of a Volva")
After watching this and the Last Kingdom led me to look into my ancestors! What I found was amazing leading me into the culture because we had found that there was a tales Of Vikings in my history! It was exciting! You never know what you’ll find !!!
Это были яростные оборотни в бою, Русские их называли рубаки. Видимость викингов, повергала врагов в шок, оставалось только рубить, удар викинга примерно в трое сильней человека, топором сносил дерево в некоторых случаях.
“Lo, there do I see my father. Lo, there do I see my mother, and my sisters, and my brothers. Lo, there do I see the line of my people, Back to the beginning! Lo, they do call to me. They bid me take my place among them, In the halls of Valhalla! Where the brave may live forever!”

I have actually read the Voluspa (my favorite translation is the one by J.R.R. Tolkien included in his translation of The Legend of Sigurd and Gudrun as The Prophecy of the Sybil) and I highly recommend it.
@@MagicApple03 you are welcome. Many people are aware that Professor Tolkien wrote The Lord of the Rings but not everyone is aware of his scholarly works and translations. I sort of took my LOTR fascination beyond the usual things like going to conventions and dressing up as his characters...I spent 15 years hanging out with a Finn and trying to learn the language that Tolkien used as the basis for Elvish. The actors who play Halfdan and Harald on Vikings are from Finland too...their accents take a bit of getting used to!
I realized I listened to this so much on repeat that I knew exactly when 18 minutes have passed, judging by the intro part, and so I would plan my activities in 18 min intervals without realizing it at all at some point. Good times
@@zaerdna Scandinavians are Germanic...just like English, Germans etc! Europe is split into mostly a few peoples, Celtic, Germanic, Meds, Slavic, Baltic peoples all of which seem to orginate from the indo european tribes that came from the caucasus regions.
