Hey kightmare Ive been playing around with a certain helmith ability you dont like, for gauss, though Id like to know what you think about its effectiveness. So as we know thermal sunder works as a cc armor strip, however certain enemies like demolists are not that great to use with and its a stationary cc. Compared to that Sow doesnt give you the armor strip but it does increase your survivability by being mobile at all times and working for almost all enemies, if you were to compare them, what do you think is more convenient to use.
@@Xul-Xata simple: it does nothing. I wish I was joking, but practically speaking armor is pointless past a certain point, and unless you're nidus or inaros then armor won't help you Unless you mean the enemy armor, in which case ehhhhh......that depends on both armor and the enemy type
We started playing Waframe 2 weeks ago. This is kinda a lot and confusing at first, but it helps our squad so so much. Thanks for your informative videos!
As a player for 7 years I highly respect you over other players that give guides this is direct information that will take a long time for anyone to figure out and your going to help a big part of the community respect to you Tenno
Love seeing how many people are complaining about the math. This video isn't the exact way you're supposed to play. This video is specifically for those who want to know the numbers behind the mods in the game to understand EXACTLY how they're modding. For those of you not at steel path yet don't stress yourself over the numbers and math. Throw together a build that makes you happy and makes the game fun and if you're struggling then ask a friend or looking for a modding basics video. This video is for the extremists who wanna min max and melt high level end game enemies. Learn if you're curious, if you don't wanna get too complex then that's also fine. No need to be at each others necks tenno!
To put it simply, "Multiply don't Add". Slap all those multiply mods, add your two elementals for each faction and chose the utility mod of your preference.
Super nice video man. I don’t know why everyone is implying this is hard to understand, structured very well and really clear. TL;DR mods with same description are additive, mods with a different description are multiplicative. Non-elemental mods scale off of their modded base damage. Really really simple
Well structured, explained well and there were some things to learn for every level of player in the game. Can see this took some time to make, the effort is noticeable. Well done!
Stuff I already knew, but I appreciate that you put together such an informative video in such a digestible way. This game took me a long time to understand and I wish this info was so easily available when I had started out.
As someone playing since Excalibur prime release, I’m so glad about the contents of this video. Serration and Heavy Caliber has been the mandatory mods for too long and DE finally changed that. Now veteran players still wining about faction mods are living in the past. These damage changes are for the best.
I'm back after a fairly long hiatus and I have forgotten so much stuff. I was a relatively casual player before hand but I am no where near able to kick out this much damage. There's so much to do. To get a certain mod I have to do a full itinerary to plan out all the things I need to do before I can even grind for it. it's so confusing. lol. Feel like it's going to take me years to get good at this game.
Wow... you actually took time of your life to explain ALL this shit... and there will still be people that will say that what you are saying doesn't make sense... AND you will still give 0 fucks about that... this doesn't mean much but friend... you got all my respect.
What I got from this video was I don't necessarily need to add serration to my gun to do damage as long as I play to the guns strength and add different multipliers and exploit enemy weaknesses to melt anything in my way got it.
Anyone getting trough basic math classes should be able to learn from this. And then, as a newcomer feel bad to use basic faction mods. Everyday the Stickynote of goals and tips on my monitor keep growing. :D
Great video! Very indepth. I already knew most of this but its nice to refresh my memory and get me thinking about the implications of how every component interacts.
I loved the video I have been watching you for years!!! This was very helpful keep up the good work frame! Also when will u make ur next Garuda video build update? I am a Garuda main. And I was wondering what u would do to her now a days.
Actually, headshot gives you 2x (3x now after buff patch), but if you crit on a headshot, it gives you the base 2x HS multiply by another bonus 2x which is a hidden mechanic.
Just wow! Just when I thought I really understood how to mod, calculate dmg, etc., I watch this video and realize I don't have a clue :D Thank you as always. Amazing video with amazing info and very well explained.
I have been playing this game since day 1 and I still don't fully understand the damage formulas. It baffles me that above all this is a GAME and they made it so unnecessarily complex in so many aspects, it is insane the idea that this was too much didn't cross their minds and the worst thing is that they could, at the very least, specify SOME of this in the tooltips ingame but they dont smh
Physical damage mods should apply that physical damage type even if it's not on the weapon. This would make them much more viable and is in keeping with the whole idea of modding weapons.
Physical damage has a logic behind it. It is bound to the physical properties of the bullet, arrow, beam, shape or whatever. Imagine if you had a simple hand knife which pierces and slashes and you try to use it for blunt damage. The same is if you use a hammer, you can bash someone's head in, but if you try to slash someone's wrist, you'd have a hard time. On the other hand, elemental damage is simply a property which can be anything... like magic. :)
I’ll just take your word on the mod combinations for now. I’ll have to take time later to do the math on my own combinations. I guess I still have some upgrades to make on certain mods to see what kind of damage output I can get from experimenting with different mods. I’m still new
I clicked on this video because when i saw the title i thought to myself “how in the world do you explain something so easy to understand without making it sound condescendingly obvious” i have learned u do just that…
You have 121k followers for a reason. I have been getting the tip from you for years and I think I may be pregnant. You, GH squad and Faceless B are the best. But you are my favorite. If it wasn't for people like you thousands of people wouldn't be paying the game anymore. Thank you. This was a love letter. ZuuuuuuKriBE
Normally, this guy's videos aren't really my thing, but if there is one thing I will ALWAYS go to knightmareframe for, it's tips on doing fuckin nutty damage. great video.
I like to think of how it works in risk of rain, items that are the same scale together but different items are multiplicative to each other and exponentially increase your damage
do more damage.......by doing a couple thosand runs in the steel path to get the arcanes and having 9 forma in the weapon. not quite the advice I was hoping for. at least I know my math was correct though!!!
A couple thousand runs...absolutely not. I've gotten up to nine Primary Merciless arcanes from a single survival and most weapons can be optimised with less than five forma. Not to mention, you can probably get a rank five arcane for fifty to sixty plat.
@@etherdreamz747 my point is if your already at the point where you're getting 9 arcanes from steel path survival it's kinda redundant info. I'm coming at this from the opinion that the type of people who works click on a "do more damage" vid are the players that can't kill stuff at all and still struggling in the standard star chart.
@@BuzzaB77 I had no problem killing things when I started Steel Path either. The only real difference is that you add raw damage to your build in place of the arcane, if you know which faction you need to mod for.
It definitely doesn't take thousands of runs to get all the arcanes. It's random, but all supposedly an equal drop chance. If you're active, the acolytes will spawn and if you kill them, they drop an arcane 100% of the time. I didn't even finish the star chart on Steel Path and never will. Some are complete bullshit.
@@brucenatelee yeah exaggerated I know but the point was most people clicking on a vid called "do more damage" will be struggling in some fundamental way. If your already doing steel path to the point where you can get 21 of the same relics already, then you ain't struggling for damage!
I’m so confused. I don’t have half this stuff unlocked and I’m stuck on Jupiter because I can’t complete missions “my level.” All my guns become pea shooters later on no matter how I mod them
i had the same problem then realised that it also has to do with some of the guns you pick, i used the strun up to deimos and thed drakgoon up to neptune and then the fulmin from then on, since if modded properly its simply just better. Im stupid and dont understand a lot of the mods just yet despite have over 100 hours in the game, so i just check overframe for good builds
yeah you're pretty much dependent on your weapons at lower levels but it doesn't mean that you can't deal damage, some mods are quite easily obtainable such as serration( a pain to upgrade) , vigilante armaments, hunter ammunition, point strike, vital sense and so on. Some good early weapons that i suggest trying are the hek, baza, dread, a kitgun (my fav combo is catchmoon, haymaker and splat with the pax charge arcane but you can replace splat by something else if you lack the motivation to grind), dex weapons (if you have them), sybaris(if you don't have a clan i beg you to join one that has all the crafts asap), opticor vandal(not really early game but i recommend going with a high level squad to make the grind way easier), rubico, atomos, ignis( the ignis wraith is given for free to new players reaching MR 9 as a tradition so don't get scammed by people trying to sell it to you)
This game has many exponential properties, damage being one of them. Making tiny adjustments has a huge impact on the damage. So if you have all but one of the mods listed in this video, you'll end up doing only about 1% of the damage you actually need.
Im gonna check out the rest of your vids. I wish I found you sooner man. You'd have made the game better for me early on, rather then me forcing to have fun with bland weapons I mod with trash.
@@zephyroth3080 That was when I was a noob, I was in middle school at the time, playing this complicated game, with no guidance, tutorial wasn't explained well for my 8th grade brain, I never had the thought to look something up on RU-vid or whatever, since I didn't own a phone or PC, just an Xbox, I just played to jump around and kill grineer at the time, than I got a phone as a gift a year layer and went ham on the game, once having the ability to simply search something up and grind it. I had never played a game that had a weapon modding system like warframe at the time, closest to weapon modding was call of duty, but that's just like 1-3 attachments.
@@reap06 I bought grendel when he first came out with %75 off, but I did do his missions to help a friend last week, I had a bugged mirage and used it to my advantage, when ever I cloned, it placed a single one down, and worked like a sandbag that made the enemies target it. I might have a clip. I'll link it sometime this week if I have one.
I would be careful about buying frames in the future because Sevagoth is fairly easy to farm. Trust me, take your time and don't rush because I've seen many people who regret doing that.
@@etherdreamz747 ahhh yeah 10 bucks is rlly not gonna break the bank. I just needed a frame to peak my interest cause the 3 u can choose frm in the begining are trash imo. Eawily worth the 10 bucks for a player that wont reach the farming area for sevagoth in some time. Thx for the advice tho. Im using nidus now and ohhhh man am i having a blast. Between nidus and sevagoth illnvr hace to make a purchase again. Loads of stuff to do on the game
@@slickthegoat5578 I'm assuming you like frames that are very hard to kill. If that's the case, I strongly suggest Revenant. He's not very fun to play (in my opinion) but his second ability is basically god mode. Rhino isn't as tanky as Revenant but also has the damage boost you can make use of.
@@etherdreamz747 some ppl do it for the instant capacity and it can be worth it depending on the circumstance maybe you don’t wanna wait for it to build who knows
Im a casual player that doesnt even have steel path yet. you dont really have to know the math. he's done it for you so you can understand the concept of how the damage types work together. Basically you can use this info to reduce diminishing returns on mods by not having three of them that do the same thing.
long story short, don't put too much of the same multiplier on your weapons, dont mod for extra IPS as they don't increase DOT. if you're using a primary arcane to increase base damage there is almost no purpose to using a base damage mod.
Really good video! I think you could extend your content to showcase new weapons, explain any synergies they may have with other guns, warframes. It would be interesting to watch. Have a nice day!
