fun thing to note, they took the heirloom packs off the website/market early, lowered the price for future packs, and gave every player who purchased on at full price an additional 2.3k plat when the community complained about the price; if there are monetization issues DE is *usually* willing to listen to the players with a very slight bias towards the founders (originally beta players who payed 60-100 to play the game in closed beta as they practically saved the company)
I can’t tell if this is a rant about destiny or a love video for warframe lol but warframe did wake me up and so did light fall still in the hopping faze I know d2 can get better
if you file a civil complaint about the monetary situation, you will get a response. if sufficient are civil and reasonable, they will budge, they removed an entire gambling mechanic because they had one person spending too much and it worried them about their wellbeing. so civilly go "oi! this is a bit shit!" and they will go "is it? oh bugger it is!"
Rebecca (Warframe's previous community manager, now creative director) said in one of the devstreams that its completely fine if you feel burnt out or just bored with the game. She literally said its cool to take a break from the game and go play other stuff. If that doesnt prove the devs are on the playerbases' side, I dont know what does
"You aren't forced to open your wallet... But you will" is the most perfect way to explain Warframe in a nutshell. I love this game to death and I know that any money that I spend is at least going to some sort of content I will play.
Exactly. Considering I can farm plat on pc, after 4k hours in WF Ive given them around $250 since 2018....All of it was log-in plat discounts but either way, its for support.
my only line with buying things with money in warframe is the ridiculous prices for prime acess, i cant justify paying what in my money would the equivalente of a pre order deluxe edition of a full blown game on a character, a skin, acessories and a little plat... but the day the decide to sell the acessories packs from the prime acess separatly with a more afordable price? yup.
@@Mephistofeles They do. Ingame market console only shows the combined pack but if you pull up warframe‘s store page on steam, the accessories pack is there for a third of the price of the full prime access. Still very expensive though, 45€ in my region vs the 22 that prime accessories used to cost a couple years back.
Man, I loved destiny, the original one. I played the absolute hell out of it, I skipped weeks of school because I was too damn addicted to it. Breaking the metaphorical chains that game had on me was arguably the best decision of my life, once I started playing other games I realized just how abusive destiny was towards me, the game didn't respect my time and threw my countless hours of effort into the dirt every time a new DLC would come out, the game was more of a job than a game. Whereas with warframe I can leave for 3 years, come back and I'm still where I left off.
I was a vanilla Destiny player as well. A massive Bungie fan, and when I found out they were making their own IP, I was psyched. I played all the way through til The Witch Queen, had to give it up. Like you, I realized that Bungie didnt care about my time, just my wallet. For awhile, I wandered through the mmo landscape, looking for my next main title to obsess over. Took me a while, but I finally found Warframe and havent looked back. It is my go-to anytime someone asks me what game to play. It has everything. It is the only live-service game I will play, DE has the best monetization of any live-service game. Like Mischief said, "You arent forced to open your wallet, but you will." Ive spent a couple hundred already on the game and that is entirely to show my support. They deserve it.
To be absolutely honest if you left WF for 3 years youre gonna be left out from things, and you do have to catch up too. Imagine not having any tenet/kuva/incarnon weapon and galvanized mods
@@Iluvatar196 True, but none of that takes all that long to get. I was one of those people that took a 3 year break, I came back around when they did the weapon overhaul update took me about 40 hours to do and unlock pretty much anything worthwhile released over those 3 years. Galvanized mods are super easy to get. I play at most about 2 weeks a year now, and I've never fallen very behind.
Two reasons Warfarm is the better game. The devs saw people had found a way to exploit movement and instead of nerfing it (or making it a paid thing somehow), they buffed it and told everyone how to do it. Now we have the most awesome movement in any game ever. And second, they saw some dude spending ridiculous amounts on one of the cash shop systems and removed it and reworked it so people weren't throwing too much money away. Watch the interview where he talks about it and you will see this company actually wants to make a fun game. These 2 things alone make me love this game.
I was hooked from day 1 of fhe PlayStation 4 launch. It was so fun even with all the flaws. Now 10 years later I still play on and off for a month or two straight at a time. And the best part is I love the game so much every year I wasnt playing (a few years straight before 2020) I still came in and bought plat and bundles on occasion. I was also hooked to destiny for a long time. Stopped after the first month of D2 and came back for shadowkeep to the first month of witch queen. Bungie as a company and how they operate overall made me stop playing almost permanently. I still come back for raid rings and nothing else. I hope that company collapses.
If there is lots fun, money will automatically follow. Never have I felt forced to buy anything in Warframe, I give them only for items I feel like purchasing from time to time, unlike Destiny where I have often payed 6 months in advance for next years dlc collection without even knowing much about its contents. It doesn't feel good to do so, and it makes you stingy on buying anything else from the cash shop. I love both games, but I wish Bungie would relax a bit and concentrate on the fun part of their game instead of profit scheming.
Yeah it was a machine that you could roll a specific thing on a horrible rng. You could buy real money items to put in to make the chance better. They saw some dude spend thousands on it and freaked out and put the item off the store and changed the machine so it works better to stop people doing that. This one thing is something that most "AAA" titles are putting in on purpose and these guys removed it. That is why the game is good, they care..@@Tydorstus
@@Tydorstus yeah there was a pet color and fur pattern randomizer for early kubrows that was $0.65 per roll, the community told them not to do it but i guess DE figured it wouldn't be too big an issue seeing as the price was so low and its just the fur/color pattern that wasn't like you were buying power. And then 0ne guy spent $100 dollars in a very short amount of time, and DE realized the community was right, refunded the guy his money, and removed the randomizer. and during a recent developer discussion stream one guy suggested they ad an option to pay for skipping the story content or something like that, and the rest of the team laughed at him and said no.
You should know, the Heirloom was a mistake, in the 28/10 devstream they said sorry, they admitted that the heirloom where a letdown in the tennocon and they will change the next time. Thats what i really like about warframe, they are really close to the player base
Also, it is worth noting that theyve also adjusted the heirloom bundle to have a straight £60 of plat in it, meaning that you're effectively getting the skins and halo for free included. But even so DE said "this still aint it, we're sorry, we'll do better next time if we do another heirloom set" The only reason they haven't changed it further is because it becomes very complicated to refund that many people. So all they can do is make the bundle more worthwhile.
@@Desdemona-XI The bundle ALSO contained 6 Regal Aya, which can be used to buy old Prime Access packs from Prime Resurgence at Varzia's shop, a big chunk of platinum, and some really cool and unique skins. Honestly, I don't think the Heirloom collection was that terribly overpriced at all, considering all the stuff you got from it.
@@Desdemona-XI Way back when, Reb and the gang actually sat down in a devstream and asked "Hey, how do you guys want us to handle the Prime Vault?" with a notepad at the ready and everything. While Regal Aya is a bit of a mixed bag (I prefer the old system myself), it's refreshing to actually hear a group of team leads going "You don't like this? Okay, _tell us how we can fix it."_ as opposed to the usual "You don't like this? Well, _we do._ Stuff it." or "Oh, that bug that makes absolutely no sense was completely intended and doesn't need to be fixed." (coughGenshinImpactcough).
Bungie: Eh it's not worth the resources to make a new area just for a seasonal update. DE: Welp might as well drop an entire new destination with this tileset we made for a single mission
One thing you missed is that when Destiny came out with the tagline "Play your way" every week Bungie was saying, "Not like that." And patching everything out. Meanwhile. DE sees people using a particular weapon to Helicopter across the maps and says, "Hey that's cool, but let's make it easier and smoother for you," and added the Parkour system.
Mm, the Parkor system, quite possibly the best movement system I've ever seen, I've lost several hours just racing around PoE and Venus just to have an excuse to abuse it and do some silly stuff, doing so with a giant laser canon (the Opticore) is just the cherry on top
Well, regarding the "parkour system" you mentioned, with the whiplicopter stuff... they didn't really add the parkour system to the game, more like, completelly revamped the system with alot of stuff that players actually created with the previous system, but better, like turning the whiplicopter into the bullet jump.
But we won't talk about how they constantly nerfed stuff that people enjoyed and still to this day crowd control is worthless and the game is just nuke the room as fast as possible.😂 DE are far from competent but at least they try, Bungie are dogs and the entire company besides people doing Art and Music( whom already got laid off i think😂😂) deserve to get fired.
There's also a huge list of examples of DE being one of the best devs in terms of respect to their players. When pets were first added to the game they had a way to spend a small amount of plat to get the right skin and it was very random. They found out one guy did it like a hundred times and they realized they more or less made a slot machine and removed the feature in less then a week. Another time they reduced the skin of a weapon that looked very similar to a cheaper weapon skin and gave players their platinum back. They've also removed paid revives and other old mechanics that were predatory in the games super early years. They've always been very open about any mistakes they make and genuine listen to feedback and address it as much as possible.
another thing to add on the pets, kubrow skins were broken on launch and the bug affected less than 500 ppl and they not only patched it within hours, they refunded and compensated the players who were affected and let them keep their pets, some bugs do take a long time to fix but they get most patched out so incredibly fast
I think my best interaction with them was I got a weapon and I was searching through the shop to get the right display for it, as in the way how the warframe wears it, unfortunately I purchased the wrong one because it was for kitanas not hammers and I had a hammer, I was in full panic, 😅 I figured I'd just ask nicely if they can reverse the plat and take back the purchase, I explained in an email to customer service what happened 1am in the night and when I logged in the next day around 9am, I got my plat back and they removed the purchase, not only was that really fast, but I genuinely didn't expect any company to even give it back without a hassle or even reply, because I've asked gaming companies before for similar changes and got zero response, especially mmos
Ditto i did this with a menu theme. Looked balls ugly and they gave me my plat back when i asked. I've also spent hundred in game so @@michaelrichards5340 🤷
_"I spent all my starter plat on revives in a mission I had a hard time with because I never bothered learning how the game's systems worked. This is all your fault."_ It was always annoying and insulting to read comments like this from people.
@@Thalanox I would say the way to learn to play Warframe is more like playing Diablo or Path of Exile where you need to open up a guide in your phone while you play the game. These type of gameplay is really hard for new gamers since the game will not hold your hands during gameplay. I too drop this game after playing it for around a week but as I get to know more game variety I can appreciate this type of game more
8:49 update the heirloom skin issue has been fixed. it is no longer a time exclusive that goes away forever. but now stays in the in game shop. the price has been downed to 20$ i believe. it can also be bought with the in game currency allowing players who are good or even bad traders to be able to get them for a decent amount of platinum.
You might be thinking of the Ember heirloom skin, that one is here to stay and is affordable. The Mag and Frost heirloom skins are exclusive 10 year anniversary skins and will not be coming back.
Moved to warframe from destiny around a year ago. I like the variety it offers, the gameplay is fun and simple, and you can jump in and out of the game at any time and don't feel "left behind".
Tell me about it. Took a break from D2 for a while and came back to stuff like Osiris apparently returning to the city, the Traveler had fixed itself, Uldren Sov is back as a Guardian and apparently Calus has a daughter, etc. all of which I found out through cutscenes thrown haphazardly at me while forcing me into missions I had little to no understanding as to what was going on. And afterwards I learned that everything I was working on, as well as content and locations like Mercury were deleted from the game. To say I was pissed was an understatement
@@wizardwolf1020and the fact that losing planets retroactively removes cosmetic drop from said planets. Want that sexy sagira shell? Screw you, you missed out buddy.
Same after playing 4 seasons worth. I got tired of having to spend more money. Moved to warframe where I had a buddy who already at Mr 29, so I got some help as well to getting into it. Best decision I ever made
Don't forget Warframe has epic bangers like We All Lift Together and Sleeping In The Cold Below. Those songs alone told me how much heart and passion is put into the game.
@@ibrokemyownheart4953I'm not going to tell you it gets good after 100 hrs. I got 3k hours in it and the best response I can give you is "it is based on what you call fun." Warframe is a grindy game. We Warframe players find fun in grinding meta weapons and meta Warframes. NGL Digital extremes dropped the ball on new player experience.
As a founder I can say I'm really proud of how far DE has come, after being gone for a couple years ive come back a week ago and I'm blown away by all the additions. This makes me happy to see some many tenno enjoying the game. Now I main my exca prime, it seems some people like seeing it in person, one person kneeled before me, that speaks to me that the game is doing well
The thing about warframe is that there is a lot and i mean a lot of genre in just one game -you have your souls-like rogue-like experience in duviri -you have space battle genre with railjack -you have story missions that could almost rival triple A stories -you have a hunting-nemesis style minigame with the sisters and the liches
@@highfivemistertorque4537 the pro skater part is actually quite well done, I never had a lot of fun with story content for example (I love the story and lore but not the story gameplay except maybe for The New War) but Yareli's quest with those k-driving challenges was surprisingly funny.
What the heck do you mean "almost rival triple A stories"? There's very very few triple A games with as good lore as Warframe. And this is not even much of a compliment to Warframe's story (which is great), it's more of a jab to AAA studios. Very few are focusing on good writing. In the last decade, indies and AA have much better stories in general.
best thing about warframe is how transparent the developers (Digital Extremes) are with the community. they constantly are checking with the actual players to see what they can do to make their game better
@@Valseil well see in the next rotation. but I really do hope that the dispo for that weapon do improve. I do have one riven I use and one spare to sell. lmfao
Well the dude ended up eating his words about the heirloom skins cost because the Ember one that's out now is only 24.99 which is still pretty pricey but way cheaper than last year's tennocon
This is basically my story for how I converted from destiny to warframe. Started playing warframe two months ago, never hated destiny more than I do after playing this masterpiece
I just checked to see how much money I've spent on Warframe over the years. $927.13 USD. I don't regret ANY of it. And I never felt like it was necessary to enjoy the game. I've loved this game for years that whenever the game hands me a discount coupon for the premium currency (a daily log-in reward that you can get randomly, and usually happens at least once every 10-15 days) I open my wallet just because I want to support the game.
I used to say that I will never give money to WF since it is free, but started to see the game after few years of playing with another scope, the devs deliver free dlcs every year just for free and with some grind u can obtain all the prime stuff they offer for money same goes for plats As well, so 10$ every couple of months to support the devs who can actually deliver and listen to the community is totally worth it if u ask me.
Yeah, that is why I love WF and DE. You can get all the prime stuff they offer by simply grinding the Void Relics, then using the Void Relics to then get a chance which you can optimize the chances of getting what you want very easily and then you build the Prime stuff and simply wait. You can even grind for every single frame in the game without paying a single penny. I have 0 plat and I'm MR 17 and some really good stuff. Got a loadout that essentially allows me to do Archon Hunts, of course I can't do them solo but. Better than dying right off the start!
@@jacksonbloodmoon3787The best part is that the two best weapons for one shotting Archons are VERY easy to get and free. You just have to… you know… play the game
this and also protip just buy some plat whenever you get the 60% or 75% off platinum and save it, I got so much plats for less then a triple a game that I can just buy whatever I want without worrying about impulse buying at full price
yep, its a show that F2P/ cheap games can be sustainable withut fleecing their players but by makign players want to reward the game for the time they spent. A player with more than a thousand hours will likely have opened his wallet at some point, and actually likely felt GOOD about it.
And withdrawal because warframe is a game you get burnt out on them go back to, haven’t touched destiny since callus was the only raid boss with his crum chalice on his throne
Its kinda insane how far Warframe has come over the years. I still remember when they added the first open world and it blew me away. Now theres all the quests, duviri, deimos, fortuna, zariman etc etc. Just wild how much content they have added. And youre totally right, you dont have to spend any money in Warframe but because the game is so fun it almost makes you want to spend money more. Finally, I really appreciate that the premium currency is the same currency you trade with other players, it really lets you get almost everything by just playing the game.
Oh yea, I starting playing around Plains of Eidalon and was blown away at the idea of Orb Vallis when that first dropped De said “fuck it, fungus moon, half-way in the wall spaceship, what’s on the other side of that wall? A whole new game mode You want a spaceship you can fight with? Railjack. How about a basement to the people on the fungus moon? You want a story about the operator if they didn’t get void powers? Sure, it’s on the house”
Man. I remember when sentients were actually terrifying to fight. And the Eidolons were something you needed a properly set up tag team of dudes to take down quickly. Good times.
I started playing around the time wisp released after seeing my older cousin play it during the first few years it was around. I was honestly amazed by how much I can do.
Another thing about warframe i the community itself. They are so bloody nice, even willing to spend three hours of their time to help a newby out. The only downside is the fact that players who bring op nuke frames into a game that instantly kills everything in their path, leaving nothing for the little guys.
Ngl, that's me once I get a Frost. I started playing on Switch, then moved to Xbox, and now have it on PC. On both Switch and Xbox, I very quickly had to abandon guilds because once I had a Frost (and once a Frost Prime), I steamrolled every mission, especially as I somehow (I don't recall how) managed to get my hands on a Hek shotgun with some corrupted mods. I kept getting messages and invites the moment I logged o nfrom friends and guildies. Little less on Xbox since I had to start anew.
To me it comes down to a single word: ambition, Digital Extremes for all their faults genuinely seem to have a restlessness and madness indicative of a creative team that just won't settle, they wanna try, they wanna latch to an idea and push it as far as it'll go (this leads to a very scattered vision and the games quality very much varies because of it) but they still manage to make a product that feels utterly bespoke and human, Bungie however seems really content and comfortable with where they are and where they're going, you get occasional glimpses of greatness every once in a while but its alot of purpose made tepidness and out right draconian greed in between.
@muranmana2355 because there genuinely is, few years ago i had a chance to talk to [DE]Rebecca in game, show her and another DE staff member around my orbiter and they were genuinely nice people who enjoyed playing the very game they create, I've been given absolutely no reason to hate any part of the past 10 years playing this game
Which honestly sucks because their ambition reels us in definitely, because it's totally deserved, however, it's what forced them to publish it themselves because absolutely nobody wanted to take the risk in investing in their product. So many shareholder weirdos like to play the safe game which in turn affects the quality of our games
My way of summing it up is that Warframe feels like the game its creators *wanted* to make. It's full of weird, unpolished, experimental stuff, and it's undeniably janky... ... but equally undeniable is the passion that goes into everything they put in. The little details and flourishes that make it clear that they're not just doing the bare minimum to get paid, they actually care about what they're making.
On the cosmetic pricing thing. They offered an ember version that has the skin, some armor, a cape, and some in game currency for $25. They also gave the ability to buy it with the aforementioned in game currency. So they actually listened.
I played warframe for 5-6 years and have never met a negative person. I met a guy that was later my friend and basically taught me everything about warframe. He even gave me a free prime Revenent and 100 plat to get me started. The warframe community is on another level.
Yeah people that can do that can very much likely afford to. I remember when new war came out, I didn't have a necramech so I was asking for parts in the trade chat. Only for someone to just straight up gift me a necramech for absolutely nothing and I literally almost cried because of it. I'm MR 19 and I'm doing a little grinding so I can give my friends some of their favorite prime frames as gifts
The biggest plus in my opinion is warframe gives players even their own ingame home & personality style. & Investing is a free choice instead of forced.
I think it's great to offer those higher tiers with platinum included but there should be a bundle without any inflation from that kind of stuff. Just let people buy the skins themselves
@@Mischiefs yeah me and several other RU-vidrs (Gambled, Sajin Kahn Alt, and Nova Umbral) discussed this and our biggest problem is lack of individual skin purchasing, and Regal Aya being in the packs since veterans (who already own everything) are getting a useless currency. It’s good for me because I own little of the prime cosmetics, but for everyone else it’s a huge negative.
@@Mischiefs it's also safe to assume we are getting more of these Signas in the future. I wouldn't bet on them dropping before the Heirloom packs go away but I would bet on them coming next year for sure. I trust DE to make these types of packs better in the future as they did with Regal Aya packs. DE is so transparent and community oriented it's amazing.
@@Mischiefs The fact that there's so much backlash to the Heirloom skins makes me feel more hopeful for the WF community, because if Bungie did something like that in Destiny it would just be accepted as the status quo. The things DE gets huge backlash for are the things that Destiny players have accepted as normal.
Bro what??? Same problem with Warframe. People think its the best thing to the grace the earth. You can not criticize the game without white knights calling you everything in the book.
I'm brazilian and I joined your channel precisely because I started playing warframe and your game test video appeared to me. It was really funny to see that their reactions were the same as mine when I opened the game. "This is all free? Really? Where's the catch? How can this be so good without being abusive?" And yes, I've already spent a good amount of money on the game and I feel like it wasn't a waste, something I felt in other games with predatory and abusive practices. Sorry for my bad english... haha
Good to hear you've seen the light. And on the note of the heirloom skins, DE has already acknowledged that the pricing was not great and while they can't change the price of the current heirloom package, they will make changes for the next heirloom set...at tennocon next year. So take that how you will.
Master Founder and 10yr player with 16k+ hrs in Warframe. You'll spend money on warframe if you truly love the game because you'll want to keep the company in business and the devs devving.
As a seasoned veteran since The House of Wolves, Warframe saved me from the sin and vice of Destiny 2 before it had released - never looked back, never feared of missing out. Utterly purifying.
What I love about Warframe is the community. I have not met a single negative/mean person when I play. You can always ask for help with a mission, and a player/veteran will help you. If you're lucky they'll even give you cool rare items. If you have questions for anything, someone will have an answer for you. Edit: Yes yes, there are some toxic players in Warframe. That's just an unwanted feature in any game. Overall, you'll have more positive experiences than negative
@@unhappybacon3292 People used to troll squad members like crazy with the rift a year or so after he launched. DE stopped it to some extent but a lot of people will just leave when they see a limbo. Only time a squad really matters is tri/quad-caping eidolons, but one really needs a bespoke squad to do that well. Just loading in with a three other volts doesn't tend to go very well, lol
@mfallen6894 I've played with random who used Limbo before, but I haven't encountered one that trolled :P And yeah, you don't have to run with a squad. That's entirely up to you if want to solo or not. From my experience, when started playing, I had little experience in anything, and I kept dying during my solos. So I joined squads, and they were always very helpful and kind. I got the items I wanted a lot faster too.
I watch the Warframe Devstreams and they MAKE me want to give them money. They’re just so lovable and in tune with the community. I don’t frequently do it, but I’ll buy the usual $5 platinum pack or new $6-8 packs that come with hella good stuff. Plus, platinum is EARNABLE! (Or tradable I should say)

Destiny is pay to win Warframe is pay to get stuff faster but everything is obtainable in Warframe without spending a dime. For instance almost everything in Warframe is tradable so it's very easy to make the currency which you use to buy things with just by trading with another player the open market alone is what puts Warframe ahead of any other free-to-play game out there
Ever since they began their bare minimum effort content that's beyond drip fed and lack luster every week I really began playing so little of the game just because everything else is so much better and tempting. Been playing Warframe for almost a year. Tried Destiny 2 first but uninstalled it after a few days. Thought that it felt like your typical FPS. But never reached end-game though. Being said, Warframe hooked me so bad. Love the combat, movement, and customization. But what surprised me is the art-direction, world-building, lore, and story. I love video game lores, and did not expect a looter to invest on their lore and story-telling. I decided to spend just to support the devs. I felt like I was getting more than what I give. I'm petty rhough so majority of the funds went to fashion frame. 😂 I know I'll eventually burn-out but playing LSGs often needs a few breaks. That's why I'm not rushing it. And Warframe is just suitable for someone to just hop back in after taking months or years of breaks. Hope Warframe thrives for more years to come. I also hope Destiny will get the care that it deserves.
I played for about a year before my first major break from the game. Been playing since 2015 and I've taken quite a few 3-6mo breaks once burn-out set in. Even when you miss the big fall expansion it usually doesn't take more than a week or two to catch back up.
One thing that i think is impressive on warframe is that they put Discount coupons on the daily login rewards, you can buy the game's most expensive platinum bundle with up to 75% off Discount, and it can happen around once on every 1-2 weeks
The final love letter that told me DE is the company to cherish is one of their most recent moves. They had discussed a paid story skip in one of their devstreams with immediate backlash from the live chat, even acknowledging it mid topic. After a little bit of thinking, they instead opted to try and streamline the story progression and tossed the paid skip out the window. That there is respect for their community.
Honestly, seeing this vid makes me really happy that you're enjoying the Warframe experience ^^ I had to drop out of Destiny 2 towards the end of the Black Armoury, and seeing all these horror stories makes me see how much of a blessing in disguise it was
I have been a Warframe and Destiny fan for a long time, the only reason I haven't played much Warframe in the past few years is because I have been spending to much time playing Destiny. After Lightfall, my love for Destiny is kinda crushed so to say. (Like most players) Just the start of this week I decided to boot up Warframe again, and the first thing the game greets me with is a 75% platinum discount. A nice welcome back gift. Something Destiny has never done for me. I bought platinum, obviously, with the money I would have used to buy Final Shape. I enjoy playing Warframe and so I enjoy spending money on it. I am probably never going to go back to Destiny, I will break my addiction to it.
The heirloom sets were like a pseudo founders pack. A limited time offer that isn't coming back. They are currently adding new signa that are in line with syandana prices. One was even available through the new whispers in the wall event.
Warframe's new tutorial is actually pretty good! I was returning after 5 years. So I decided to do the tutorial to reactivate my muscle memories and whatnot. And to my surprise, it was much more polished, and it was a mission at the same time. It was so smooth and very well designed. My problem was, after the tutorial ended, and I was greeted with a clusterfuck of information on the navigation panel. Alerts back then used to be a small square screen 😂 now it is an entire wall of text. Took me weeks to get back up to speed. I had to manually sieve through all the updates notes on the wiki, to figure out the chronology, and also asking around in the warframe forums. Slowly but surely I got the bigger picture. Now I am able to set my own goals on what I wanna do next. Now, all this is from a returning vet. I can't imagine the horrors a new player would face 😂 I hope DE would incorporate a system that will push new players in a general direction to progress. No need for handholding, just a tiny push in a specific direction. So they dont feel lost in space. I understand they cant possibly teach everything. But at the very least, set arbitary goals that'll make players progress smoothly in the early game. At least up to the Natah quest. By then, players would already be invested, and probably learn to use the wiki for more information.
WF is kinda like real life you need to figure it out on your own and set some small goals that will lead to a bigger one. Patience is basically what you'll need.
As Baylan Skoll said: "One must destroy in order to create" Unfortunately that meant destroying my love for Destiny 2 via Lightfall so that I could love an actually good game
If you like Warframe. Please give the First Descendant a chance. It's not on par with the likes of Warframe or Destiny 2 because it is still on beta. But so far, it's pretty good.
@@Rollbrand370I tried the open beta for it and it was one of the worst mmo-lite experiences I've endured. Hopefully the game gets delayed for another year because there's no way it'll be successful in its current state if I'm honest
100hrs into the game, I got a 50% Platinum coupon for my daily login bonus. I used it to buy some Plat for $12 AUD. I click into the store and find a cool weapon to buy, because why not? I see the "Buy the blueprint with in-game credits" button on the same page. I buy the blueprint, set it to craft overnight, and I go to bed. Warframes store convinced me to not spend the Premium Currency I had already paid for, saving it for another day.
I've been playing this game for over 7 years. I'm basically out of shit to do. But every time I see people getting into the game, it makes me smile. Anytime someone I know says "I just got into Warframe, wana join me?" I will literally make time to do it.
My friendlist is full of people that announced they were new and needed help, hours I spent with each and every one helping them farm for whatever frame they wanted, some frames I hadn't even had, never discouraged them by saying it was a bad frame, if it's what they wanted it's what they'll get. Most have all but forgotten the game by this point, hovering around MR3-5, but some have even surpassed me which brings me joy knowing that I could have been the Space Ninja they needed to really get into the game.
One of the things I love so much about the game is that it's so easy to pick up you can just play it or go into a hyper autistic focus on it you can sit and play 4 missions and hope off not fall behind or worry about fomo
Really the main issue with Warframe is that after the first starter quest, you have no direction. Until you figure out what you actually want to do, you're kind of stuck without anything to actively do. The game doesn't tel you that it's got a lot of quests to do so you just have to keep playing to see if you'll start to enjoy it
i've found that like Destiny i'm never off youtube attempting to figure out its systems..but hey, at least im not constantly confused about what to do and where to go. Until the last step in a bounty where they throw something at you making you fail the entire thing.
destiny 2: pay 50 bucks every month for 5 hours of content warframe: HAVE A ENTIRE UNIVERCE FOR FREE, if you want you can suport the team with purchases but such thing is 100% optional just have fun. I also love of Destiny 1 said they would make 10 years of content... something warframe just completed LMFAO
Warframe still has that spark of creativity, that spark of "We arent gonna abuse the shit out of our players 24/7" not that warframe doesnt have problems, it respects you, your wallet and time a hell of a lot more than most other similar grindy games
@@Mephistofeles i feel its been pretty generous to me, especially when i try to optimise. weekly shit if i even fancy doing it doesnt feel like a chore cuz i can do multiple things whilst i do it and its fun. it helps that the game also has actual difficulty
@@Thereisnogreatersword To be fair, Warframe has difficulty until you reach a certain point. Once you get most of the stuff in the game, you'll be breezing through most missions barring the odd wombo combo specific enemies pull off. The gun Thrax units have a beam attack that deletes you, some of the guys in Venus have really high-damage miniguns, etc. While I'm not a fan of Destiny, I will admit it has a better difficulty curve overall. Outside of me purposefully failing a mission, I haven't failed a mission through actual difficulty in years.
@@Graysmog although it is fun trying to make your fave frame work, especially when it's not very good, pre buff frost as an example. Also whilst destiny 2 has a decent difficulty curve, as someone who put a shit ton of hours into it and has raided frequently, destiny 2 endgame is a mixed bag of piss easy and actually challenging the first three times you do it. At least i can go do an endless mission on warframe to farm and fight in difficult scenarios, perhaps even try to make niche builds work there too such as blending talons breach surge garuda
@@MephistofelesTrue, but at least it never pressured you on when to spend your time on the game. Like it’s gonna take you a long while to reach certain pieces of content in the game, but you have as much time as you want to do it, because that content is not temporary.
I was a vanilla Destiny player. A massive Bungie fan, and when I found out they were making their own IP, I was psyched. I played all the way through til The Witch Queen, had to give it up. I realized that Bungie didnt care about my time, just my wallet. Like you said, "You arent forced to open your wallet, but you will." Ive spent a couple hundred already on the game and that is entirely to show my support. They deserve it.
Ah , warframe..been playing from 2017 Still am on some weekends Never paid a single penny, but still farmed a lot of stuff And played on few weekends per months Trick is gotta know where to farm what and pray to rng gods for the drops 😂
I have almost 2500 hours on Destiny 2 and after playing Warframe for about 500 hours I’ll never be a guardian again. Warframe is what every game should try to be they give you every you could fantasize about doing in a game.
WF also rewards you for taking breaks. don't play for a week or two and when you come back it gives you 50%-75% off your next store purchase, this can be used on plat. idealy you dont buy plat until a 75% off. that is if you ever buy plat vs how fast you can make play via trading....
I'd agree about the heirloom prices. But considering the backlash around it ands the devs response it seems like their actually going to listen and make some big changes if they ever do something like this again. Warframe Devs and Digtial Extremes actually seem to listen to their players regarding what should be in the game or any changes that are needed. Now ofc they arent gonna listen to everything the players say, cause their a company and need to balance player wants with the vision they have for the game. But I think the devs do truly care for the players. Unlike destiny that just want your money.
They do care. I got plenty of grudges for Warframe due to a very, very long period of play, but frankly they are passionate and chill. They inspire trust. Sole problem, they are now under tencent's control ... And those guys are vicious and agressive in term of monetization. They want results, always tenfold superior to previous. So far, DE went under their radar... As for m'y grudges, my deepest problem for a long time was the lack of focus. They tend to have many ideas, but they hardly extend it beyond "demo" / "concept of", they jump to another gallery without properly diggin that gold lying under their feet. But this seems to finally change... Their next big expansion take Roots back into Deimos, and all it's secrets lying underneath... And I can only hope this will be a good Omen for their future. That they will slow down a bit with "creativity", and work on "extenting" what already exist. And there's matter for : Eidolon, Fortuna, Railjack, bosses to rework, archwing to rework... Moving forward, yes, but not by letting the rest failling to dust.
@@sirjazz1268 What big expansion are you talking about? I'm aware of Whispers in the Wall, but I don't think it's a big expansion. Isn't it just a mission set in Deimos' inner chamber? It's pretty big in terms of lore importance, but doesn't look like it in size itself. If anything it looks more of a short prequel to 1999. They're going back to Deimos, but it's just lore wise, have they mentioned anything regarding changes to the actual open world? You're quite right about the need to "rework" or expand on mechanics and concepts they've introduced, but I don't think this is quite it.
@@Triattt I wouldn't be surprised if Whispers in the Walls is like The Sacrifice, a sort of long play mission but not a full fledged campaign like The New War. That's what I'm expecting 1999 to be...more like the New War in length and depth.
@@Triattt Honestly I think Whispers in the Wall's content model would be a lot similar to Zariman. It'll just be one new tileset, but with excellent content design.
Tbh the fact that Whispers Of The Walls is gonna continue its main story into a new chapter is pretty damn exciting. Just new Story content in general makes me excited even if it's short because you just know something interesting is gonna happen.
I remember playing Warframe when it was in beta, i seen the games potential, but didn't expect this much to happen. I'm glad it's still being supported. ^^
Two Reasons to love DE: When Kubrows were first coming out way back when they monetized it using a gatcha-esc system and the promptly took it out after some dude dropped 20k in it. Real integrity move. The other reason is when Mesa Prime came out people thought her ass was too flat so DE MADE IT BIGGER and called it a buff in the patch notes. Devs in tune with their community for sure
was shocked when I first played Warframe at how free-to-play it is. I asked in the chat where the battle pass was, and they told me it exists, but there's no way to spend money on it. I was also shocked that you get all the expansions for free and that there's an open market where all items in the game can be obtained for free. Warframe is truly a great game.
@@runek100a FP option would be neat, but overall Warframe should just stay TP. Cause for the amount of particles you can put onto a screen, you'll just be flashbanged
As a destiny 1 og from 2013 who played all the way through destiny 2’s first year, I gave up then, and in 2022 I decided to give Warframe a shot. The game I had the audacity to think of as a destiny ripoff for almost a decade, truly was just a better and more fun game with a whopping $0 barrier to entry. I love warframe so much
With Warframe, I always felt like they were striving to do new and more ambitious things. Destiny felt like it's always trying to do the absolute bare minimum to make as much money as possible.... Destiny is always making excuses for why they can't do things, but Warframe is always saying,"well maybe we can do it" and eventually make it happen. ALSO, Warframe servers are way more stable.
Amen to that, brother. D2 servers can't take a lick worth of anything. Your internet veers slightly off course? DISCONNECT. At least with Warframe, even with a shoddy internet connection they can still take a beating.
@@danieltorresgonzalez462 right now, Bungie is getting ddos attacked so we can't play during regular hours, but normally they're already pretty unstable. I think the worst part is that Bungie never compensates the player with ANYTHING when they lose progress because of their server instability or.... Anything really. DE at least gives us some forma or materials when they make changes to something major.
@@danieltorresgonzalez462 Yes. Yes they are. Iirc they're the same servers since the old Halo days, and they don't even want to think about spending the money to ACTUALLY get new and up-to-date servers.
I played alot of the first Destiny, but quickly stopped as soon as Destiny 2 launched. Then started playing Warframe about 3 years ago and never stooped since. Its such an amazing game to casually log on to and there is always something to do. DE devs are passionate about the game, genuinely cares about their playerbase, and consistently add quality content.
heirlooms now being able to be bought with just plat and not being limited time just shows that the feedback from previous heirloom skins have been taken a bit into account
Rhino Prime, Hek shotgun, Lex handgun, and Jat Kittag. Nothing stands in my way. Good luck with your adventure! May your mod drops be golden and your dps be high.
Warframe marketplace trading gave me more of a rush than most of destiny dlcs. Multiple tabs open on my laptop with prices of gear paired with multiple in game tabs looking at the market speed and offers with counter offers. Over pricing, lowballing, bargaining, scamming. All of this just to see what I can obtain and how much I can sell it back for profit. It was beautiful.
Ssethtzeentach PoE market rant vibes. "Don't waste time asking questions, just throw a chisel on the table so they know you're serious... You'll be back... They always come back"
Eh it gets old very quickly. You’ll spend a day in trade chat, and yeah you’ll make plat but its like do you really want to spend your entire day doing this instead of playing the game itself? The thought of that made me quit for a while ngl. Did eventually come back though
As someone who's put over 1300 hours into Warframe across PS4 and PS5, I can say this is one of the only live services games that isn't completely corrupted by greedy business practices. With the occasional scummy exception. And yes, I've spent at least 600 bucks on this game.
I'm 11yrs in(closed beta) and several thousands spent on prime access packs to help keep this game alive and keep the servers free to play I highly agree that atm there are far and few games, devs out there that can match this games level of content, lore, playability all for free unless you want to rush or get fancy things that add 0 benefit to your character so as not to be pay to win
I have both games. Still, I can't believe you cannot play the initial quests from Destiny 2 anymore, because the DEVs simply removed it from the content table. WHY?!?!?!?! For what reason??? And we can't even buy that content anymore either, which is even crazier... at least Warframe keeps all quests, ranging from the more simple ones all the way to the complex narratives.
I covered Destiny lore for years and got into it hard with written logs and all that. Putting it down left me feeling drained but man... pushing it away, was the best thing i ever did. Warframe, Remnant and Valheim have been my top three games since. And I am again happy.
Warframe has better lore and de on occasion has made the lore in a way to either be open ended or can be changed and still play nice with existing lore d2 has 0 of that
Good video, small gripe I have is about the Heirlooms. DE has publically said that they weren't happy with how they implemented the Heirlooms and they're sorry. It's highly unlikely that the prices will go up in them UNLESS they add significantly more value to the package.
Not sure how far into the game you have been, but if you ever find yourself being unable to damge high level enemies, it's always a good idea to loo up enemy weaknesses, mechanics and also how to properly mod weapons. THat is one of the biggest mid-game hurdles for players, and can seem very intmidating to a lot of players. There are many players willing to help out, even youtube videos, never hesitate to ask.
@@w4rl0ck Or use Xaku and abstain from weapons entirely, his 3 is busted. Some enemies need Armor strip to be dealt with. Acolytes, eidolons and demolysts come to mind, laetum doesn't work all too well on those. It's still a ridiculously powerful gun though.
Been playing Warframe since I got my Founders pack all those years ago. Played Destiny 2 for about three months with friends... and it was very much "oh, this is what Warframe would be like without choices." Never looked back.
The grind for warframe can seem pretty atrocious and I'm not gonna sugarcoat that some of the drop chances for things are terrible, BUT I feel it's soooo much rewarding when you get that 5% drop when nobody else can, instead of buying it on the market. You can play this game however you want to and nobody is going to judge you for it. Everything I do in this game feels rewarding.
i was very on and off with warframe but since getting into the trading it's really opened up the game for me the game really is free even with a little trading can easily get the frames and weapons you want
I haven't played Warframe in a long while, last time I played it was a couple months before the free roam area or areas was added to the game, and every update has reached my ears but never quite got to me. After the weekend of being immensely powerful with glitched weapons, I realized that was one of the few moments I had genuine fun just messing around. This video was enough for me to give it another shot, thanks man
My experience with Destiny 2 is just buying the game, getting halfway through the campaign, Bungie deletes the campaign and makes the game free, I never get a refund or the ability to finish the campaign I paid for. Never played it again. Then I just got into Warframe instead.
As someone who started playing Destiny 1 since week 2, I feel you. I spent around 5k hours in Destiny 1 and 2 and lets not talk about the money I spent on it and that I went trough the "Gen Change" and had to get a PS4 because the PS3 was no longer supported, and latter getting all the all DLC's on pc when I made the change. So yeah, leaving Destiny was like leaving behind a Toxic relationship that lasted 8 fucking years. Now I can proudly say that on November 11 2023 I will be 1 year free of playing Destiny. (And near 2k hours in Warframe)
My main problem of switching from destiny 2 Warframe was how confused i was. And for the longest time i genuinely didn't know why, until 2 days ago when it hit me. Its mot that Warframe is actually confusing at all, its not that destiny is easier to understand (in fact it's quite the opposite at times), its the the fact that upon opening the game for the first time in literal years, i wad ablr to play *EVERY SINGLE* mission, from start ro finish, completely unobstructed by my lack of funding.
the few advantages of destiny is that it has better endgame content in raid as the steel path is just a number tweak instead of challenging mechanics, I like the idea of exotics as being top tier gear but being limited to a single one meaning you cant just load yourself with only best-in-slots, and the existance of a meaningful PvP (though its existance might be the origin of many of its problems) Apart from that: -Mobility is more engaging in warframe (though strand bridges the gap a little) -FAR more powersets in warframe meaning anyone will find something they enjoy playing -Weapons are fare more customizable than the crafting system in destiny allows, and the nature of exotics means you cant really carry more than one gimmicky weapon at a time, leaving the rest as rather generic guns no matter what. -More build diversity. Everyone in destiny has the same base health and you can die quickly pretty much no matter your build (still baffled to this day that, without powers into play, titans arent any more durable than warlocks) if nothign is around to fuel your "tank" build (thats still likely to just get oneshotted sometimes even through your defensive cooldowns), while in warframe becoming a nigh-immortal tank is very possible AND getting shot can even become a benefit. Same for support roles, theya re far more fleshed out and varied in Warframe. -lots of side content offering alternate gameplay in warframe like Railjack or Duviri. -Biggest of all, all content in warframe is free to access barring cosmetics. Destiny will try to get 20 bucks out of you just to access ONE dungeon.
I know this is a while later, but they recently added a new boss with Whispers in the Walls that has a hidden hard mode that has mechanics you have to be aware of, and even the super high end players can't just 1 shot it and run. Took a good few people who made videos about 18-20 minutes to solo it, and it seems to scale with more players. High risk, and the rewards are more of the usual loot it drops, as well as if you solo it you get a cosmetic for your ship everyone can see. I believe there might be plans for more stuff like this, especially because I recently got a survey in game asking me how challenging Warframe's gameplay was. (Too easy, just right, or too challenging.)
Honestly all due respect to destiny exotics, but ngl Most of Warframe weapons can legit make exotics seem like just another gun. Take a look at Ghoul Saw vs. Lament, one is just a sword that is reskin to be a chainsaw and another is a buzz saw THAT YOU CAN BLOODY FUCKING RIDE LIKE A SKATEBOARD INTO BATTLE AND SWING IT HACKING THE LIMITS OFF YOUR ENEMIES AND WITNESS THEIR BLOODY FUCKING BODY PARTS FLY AROUND LIKE ITS A FUCKING HORROR MOVIE SCENE! if you ask me what guns are, warframe exotics equal the tenet or kuva weapons, which can go up to level 40. My Kuva Nukor I dubbed "the cancer ray" is legit a trace rifle on crack and steroids, I legit point at an enemy and just watch them pop like a pimple.
the moment i finished lightfall and they threw a bunch of locked quests at me, i quit. then i found out about warframe having cross save so now i have all my prime gear back on PC from PS4 and i will never touch destiny again most likely lol
Been with Warframe since 2013 and don't regret a damn second of it. I've taken my hiatuses, more than a few caused by destiny 2, but this is a game that I can always come back to and enjoy. A thing that's always a bit of a contentious point with Destiny 2. Not to mention the community's amazing. Sure it has its bad apples, but unlike the Destiny community I haven't had to almost entirely cut it out of my life for my mental health.
On the note of heirloom cosmetics they did say in the latest dev stream that if they continue that program changes will be made to it next year based on the feedback they received this year and they did come out and admit that people were not happy about how they were rolled out.
