I am so happy to see you make a video for this game. I have been watching ICBM Raptor2's videos on the game as much as your ArmA videos so it's a treat to see this covered by you.
This and GTA IV LCPD FR are some of my favorite stuff you have had lately. It's very interesting ,especially with your commentary! Keep 'em coming, Devil!
Hey Man, I just picked up 'Wargame - Air Land Battle'. I just wanted to say thanks for the video you put up its been ages since I was excited to go out a buy a video game!.
SEAD is pretty crazy in the matches I have played so far. I have just decided to load up on Strela MT-LBs for Pact, but that forces a trade off on overall capability so some of my units may survive long enough to make a positive gain for your side. This game is pretty awesome, since it actually makes you think through your actions. In most RTS games, you can rush a position and be fine. In W:AB, you need to soften up positions with air/arty support, just like in real life. Thanks for the vids!
A few times you would have benefited from selecting attack and clicking a little behind the enemy forces, (Attack move) letting your troops move up and shoot any target within their FOV, also for maximum firepower, select a bunch of troops right click to move but hold down the RMB and drag your mouse to creat a line abreast formation, and then selecting attack move once their all lined up will concentrate their firepower forward to maximum effect. Good video, these tips will improve
i know this is late but you can press and hold ctrl for clickinh per 4 units from the reinforcment bar, and many people i know who play this call the units like your workin out. so if you have 1 group of tanks and there are 3 of them in the group, some people go: 'i got 1 set and 3 reps' or 'i got 3 stacks of 4 boxes'. but anyway nice game.
One thing I hate about this game Is logistics, When your FOB runs out of supplies that's It and when your logistic trucks also run out you can't send them out of the map to resupply.
No not biased media, just facts, the abrams has top of the line firing systems (can take out most other tanks before they can even see it), top of the line armor. Everything on it is sophisticated and up to date, it out-classes every tank out there. And you cant compare the loss rate as the challenger 2 hasnt seen as much action (the brits have lost challenger's though btw). Anyway the abram's that were lost were due to IEDs, not tank vs tank.
This takes place in the 80s, so there's no Challenger 2, but there is the Challenger 1, which is an absolute beast of a tank. The armor's better than any of NATOs other MBTs, and it's priced between the Abrams and Leopard MBTs, so it's a great option for your frontline in a NATO deck.
True True. They also weren't very good at controlling points because they would capture a point and then lose it that night. And both armies were told not to back down. And it wasn't one German army it was two.
Ran through a bunch of your videos and enjoy them a lot, especially the Arma teamplay. This game looks great. If you like RTS's, Company of Heroes is worth checking out.
I know the story of Stalingrad and I wasn't knocking down tanks or anything like that. But in many cases when Germany was not able to use their tanks effectively (if at all) that's when they suffered their worst defeats. Like D-day, there was a Panzer division not far from the beaches but because Hitler was asleep and his servants too afraid to wake him, the panzer division never received order to reinforce Normandy and the D-day invasion succeeded.
godzilla691138MW3 but i dont like what stats they give some of the units like calling a firefly a tank hunter unable to shoot infantry and calling the vickers a tank when it was an MG
You're mostly right but on the Gulf war thing. The Abrams mostly competed with the Iraqi's Republican guard, which were Elite troops and far from pushovers and their most powerful tanks were T-72's maybe not on par with an Abrams but again far from pushovers. What mainly won the war though was the usage of GPS to hit the Iraqi's from the desert where they would least expect, instead of the highways which were reinforced.
From what I've read it wasn't just the russian army. It was the women and children fighting as well. Also another thing I read was the one of the German armies was surrounded and cut off from their supply chain. And yes they barely held the city...without help from anyone else.
Actually no, I got that from the autobiography of a US tank commander. These were not forced out of action, they were destroyed. All of them, including the one Challenger I mentioned. As in, no longer capable of combat operations due to excessive damage and had to be abandoned. Also, I know what forced out of action is.
It would be amazing if ARMA 3 allowed wars to be the scale of this game... imagine just thousands of people all simultaneously fighting on the battlefield together ordered by a single general who has a top down view of everything
The Challenger II, Leopard 2, and the Abrams are all excellent tanks. Most of the Abrams' design, and idea came from the Leopard 2. They both use the same gun, same stabilizer for the gun, and many of the same electronics. They are all sleek and sexy tanks as well. But, I wouldn't say one is better than the other. It's like candy. They all have their own "flavor". Though they all look alike, and are made to do the same things, they have their own characteristics.
Holy shit, talk about in depth RTS game.. This is one of those games I'd love to watch, but wouldn't really ever play. So cool to watch u play it though
A-10 was originally given the nickname Thunderbolt 2 in honor of the P-47 due to the A-10s ruggedness and fire power. But of course the men of the USM gave it its own nickname Warthog
your vid was very very very nice and good and if you don't mind we want more war thunder it's pretty good when we see a pro just like you play it and give us a good story ,,, Thanks in Advance.
So with the planes, I'm assuming the runways aren't on the map right haha.... That would take up half the board. Do they just appear from off screen? When they refuel do they go back off screen again. I can't see relaistically them landing in a field.
If you got that info from wikipedia forced out of action = does not mean that it was destroyed but left combat due to damaged control systems, weapons, wounded etc.
You get it on steam its currently in its 2nd beta and will be out around may 22nd but if you buy it now you get into the beta and that's what you are seeing.
It's not a ridiculous design. The Abrams was based off the Leopard 2, uses the same gun as the Leopard 2, and some of the same armor. Also ALL tanks consume ass-tons of fuel. The reason the US military says they don't want any more tanks is because they already have enough tanks in service, and when an Abrams gets knocked out they can repair it for much cheaper than what you can build one for. The government wants to keep making tanks because of jobs, not because it's a bad design.
I don't think you can say the Leo outclasses the modern Abrams models by very much right now. The armor protection and mobility of the tanks are similar, and while the Leo is getting a longer gun, they would still bounce APFSDS shells off each other all day long. For urban combat, the Leo is definitely better because of less weak spots, but the TUSK is solving some of those problems. I'd like to see these two tanks fight side by side for a comparison sometime to see how big the difference is.
They had like a 75% off Steam sale for the first one when I got it, they should have a sale down the road. $40 isn't bad, better than $60 buying something for PS or XBox, I think its one of the best RTS games out there. If you're into RTS then go ahead, just remember the game is quite realistic. The "ArmA" of RTS games if you will. I WOULD buy it if I had $40 to spend. Having some friends to play with on TS or something makes it more fun.
what you do is make like 1/3 of your army heavily armored op tanks like the Abrams then the other 2/3 you make into long range artillery along with some AA so what ends up happening is will the tank are up there taking a bunch of damage being bullet magnets you artillery is making giant craters where the enemy once stood and its also important to spread you artillery and AA out in a kinda you form around the tanks thats what i do it it works 83% of the time
What kind of system requirments does this game have (ballpark estimate). I can barely play war thunder but this looks like it would need a better processor at least.
As a 19K, I respect the M1A2. Though, I personally have to agree with the other person, I must say that there is no comparison between the two. Unless the two see combat matching each other, it's useless to argue over it. They both have pros and cons. There is no sure fire way to say who would win unless you pin them against each other. Which wont happen. It also depends highly on the crew. A challenger could have a Sabot that could kill an Abrams, but if the crew cant work it.. It's useless.
Depends on what is shooting what. For example most of tanks kill apcs with one shot but it takes much more to kill a heavy tank. Some ATGMs have the capability to kill even the heaviest tanks with 1 shot.
and the Germans did lose more soldiers to frost bite then anything else also i correct myself. Stalingrad held out due to the winter, but Paulus' bombing error did give the Germans a lot of issues
