Yep. I'm new to the game and have been watching a lot of battle reports and a few store games and the weirdness a lot of warmachine players have not wanting scenery almost turned me off to the game. Someone tried to explain it to me as Mk2 had some goofy rules regarding height and cover or something so most players don't want to bother with scenery. I love utilizing scenery and tactics in my game To me it's pointless to just mob all your forced together and have a big clusterfuck in the middle of the board. Oh, and don't get me started on the scenarios where you have two capture points in the middle of the board within charge range of each other.
I agree it's visually appealing. I can understand using flat pieces due to price, easier to play with miniatures not wanting to stand. The visual appeal should not be understated in the miniatures hobby though. It's the difference of just using pogs(see Warhammer Diskwars) and painting expensive miniatures, it's the same gameplay. You can get just bases and rules, even the units cards & still play these games.. but people don't collect, and show off their pogs(except when they did.)
wow today i was just thinking about getting into this game and you channle came up, I have to say I love how you narrate the game in a "play by play" way but show the whole game, I will watch more of your games thanks!
Always enjoy your battle reports. I can figure out more about how to play from watching your videos than I can from reading the rule book. Thanks for all the work you put into them.
These and MWG are one of the few WM videos I can check, because I can actually see the minis, the rolls and learn the game a bit better. Also your voice really soothing it makes the video perfect to relax.
Pure outstanding video! I love how the flow is. Fast, efficient, and precise. I wish more battle review videos were like yours. Keep up the awesome work!
I am confused as to why you sent in the devastator to die from red line then charge with the mechanics? Wouldn't it have made more sense to move the mechanics up to try and repair the devastator, then move the devastator up to rain of death??
Do you sell the war gamer girl dice boxes you use in your video? If not do you have plans to? it would be one more way for your fans to show you some support.
Excellent Battle Report as usual, Miranda.. I don't think Mk III changes did enough to warrant a revisit for me.. but your reports are still the best on the U. Why are the damage boxes now shown as a a realtime video?
Are you going to make a video opinion on MKIII? I have been thinking in getting into warmachine but MKIII just happened and I feel cautious on getting in now.
Cool battle report. I really like to watch you playing, especially Khador since it is my faction as well ;) I would like to share some comments about this battle with you if you do not mind: 1. List: You have taken a lot of good models for this list. Malakov and Devastator is interesting combination. For a list with 3 warjacks it is good that you've taken machaniks. It is also always good to have some snipers, like Widowmakers Scauts here. But there are also some misses and lacks in the list. Man-O-War Shocktrropers are great, but only if can boost their ARM, otherwise they are not though enough to fulfill their role. Kozlov need some numerous close-combat infantry to fully utilize Fury, Shocktroopers have only 5 attacks, so they are not good enough. So I would advise to drop Shocktroopers and their Kovnik. 2. Round 1: It is good to play aggressively with Devastator, but I do not think that you pushed him too much in first round. If I were in your shoes I would activate the 'jack before Malakov, run 8", than activate Andrei and cast Redline. I do not think you needed that two extra inches in this round, but those 3 hitboxes you lost were essential. Also, you run too fat away from mechaniks. You should try to keep your warjacks in the range of mechaniks all the time, especially if you are going to take alpha strike in you face :P 3. Round 2: At this point you had advantage of 2 points. I think you should focus on scoring more points at this time instead of trying to fight on the whole wide front. I would try to move to one flag and score each round. In my opinion Kozlov feat was wasted here, not that much models benefited from it. You have also sacrificed Devastator almost for nothing. You could do two things to save it: use mechaniks first and repair, or at least drop redline. There is no point for exchanging such warjack for few infantry models. I also do not understand why would you use TS to move back Deciminator: free strike from warbeast is not a cool thing, instead you could engage few more models. Shocktroopers should not move without Shield Wall. Running them like this is simply giving them away for free, not even trading them for a thing. I also do not understand why would you keep Jugg in the forest instead of keeping it behind Shocktroopers - that would be much better position to charge next round. 4. Round 3: I think that at this point the game was already lost, but I would not move back with Kozlov. He is great fighter, and he is even more safe in melee, so maybe it was better idea to charge something? I love to watch your battle reports. Keep going. For the Motherland! :)
Yeah what this guy said. You gave away too many points for nothing in return. In previous videos from you I've not seen such play. Were you sandbagging for your guest? ;-)
While the beast missed the throw for killbox issues, I was under the impression only power attacks against friendly models was slam. Is this incorrect on my part? Holy Hand Grenade of Menoth still in?!?! :P
Love it!! Tanith + reeves is like my fav combo right now. Also now whenever ive been running reeves and i shoot a high armored Affliction target i just roll the to hit dice and a different colored column dice at the same time. If it hits you just put one point on the column if it doesn't you just ignore the column die. I mean i doesn't save tons of time but it saves some.
Yeah... the rolls stayed separate more for clarity in the video than anything else. I do the same thing ONLY against ARM 19 plus. Against ARM 18, you still roll damage, because boxcars does 2 points. I'm not totally certain it's super great, but it plays a huge mind game on your opponent, and sometimes that's worth it!
Talk to Chris Orr. The templates are still made, as a fundraiser for Canada's WTC teams. The dice were 3 years ago (?), and I haven't seen them for sale since. I've got more templates (measuring sticks 4"-14") and more zones coming soon.
The tokens I use are from Broken Egg Games. DO NOT BUY unless you purchase from a reliable retailer like Discount Games Inc. I kinda wish they didn't look so good.
I've tried ordering from them twice. First one ended with several other people's orders and mine getting messed up - and people got fired. I tried again with their Kickstarter (which is where my tokens are from). I FINALLY got the remainder of what they forgot about a month ago - around 8 months late. Also, had I not been on the one to get on and stay on their case, I never would've gotten it. There was an extra that I got as an apology - but it came without what I was missing to start with. It had to be remade, so to me that shows that they resold product that other people had already paid for. Pretty much, 2 miserable experiences in a row. So, I don't trust BEG for anything. But, DGI does a good job keeping track of their stock, and I've never had problems with them. You can get those tokens there.
The metal tokens I use for fury are made by Broken Egg Games. I wouldn't buy any of their products unless it's in stock from a different distributor, like Discount Games Inc.
So it fun to watch some good battle reports like this one. However just to be sure i think there are little things you tend to forget. For Khador. One of the Big things i saw is that Khazlov Feat works for all friendly models in his control range. so if those Man-O-wars that got hit by Ghetorix should of had plus two more armor. Ghetorix should of kill one in one hit. Unless of course he was out of feat range which was hard to tell. your beginning turn you shot at the Mannikins which have prowl. i think you even mentioned it. but you shot at them anyways when it should of been missed! Argus Charged the decimator should of just been hitting def 5 but no matter still hits. What happen to your tough roll on khazlov! he should still be fighting...maybe. It was displayed really well i like how you guys showed everything. keep learning and just keep getting better at the game show more great reports! I really like seeing purple circle as well it was pretty cool to see.
The math is right on Ghetorix attacking Shocktroopers. Kozlov's feat puts them to ARM 19 with Unyeilding. Scything Touch puts them back down to ARM 17. Ghetorix warping Strength has a P+S 19 Axe, P+S 16 Bite. The Sentry Stone has prowl, the Mannikin Grunts do not. The Argus animus works only on living, so there is no DEF debuff to a warjack. Also, pretty sure we won't forget about Tough on Kozlov... though I did have extra attacks. Don't worry, there is a LOT to this game, and nobody has everything memorized correctly - surely not me! Thanks for the painting compliment!
Post game discussion for this game is on her channel. My channel is a much more general discussion of the New Edition, the battleboxes, and general first impressions. We deliberately left out some more in depth tactics for you to enjoy on this channel!
Nice! Yeah, I'm probably the most competitive one in my meta... but conflicting with me wanting to PG stuff, too. Kinda goes against the nice, polite, and docile stereotype, eh?
Wow, your dice hate you as much as mine hate me. I think that game would have been different if you had even rolled somewhat average. Rough - but fun to watch. Thanks for sharing.
Why do people say this? Confirmation bias for wanting to externalize blame doesn't work in the long run. Anyways, you mentioned it... 38 rolls, 94 dice, here's the stats: 1- 14 - 14.9% 2- 18 - 19.1% 3- 14 - 14.9% 4- 14 - 14.9% 5- 23 - 24.5% 6- 11 - 11.7% average pip shown: 3.50 25 2d6 rolls average 6.32 11 3d6 rolls average 10.73 So, for such a small sample size, there is a bias shown toward 2s and 5s, but hardly deviating far from average, save 5s, which is still only 5.9% above average. I'll be getting my dice later... there's a lot more of them.
My dice: 125 rolls (yay Reeves), 259 dice 1- 54 - 20.8% 2- 43 - 16.6% 3- 53 - 20.5% 4- 43 - 16.6% 5- 33 - 12.7% 6- 33 - 12.7% average pip shown 3.22 84 2d6 rolls average 6.44 18 3d6 rolls average 9.94 If you have any videos of your games, I'd be happy to count them, too. That argument seriously doesn't hold in any game I've counted.
I haven't counted this video yet, and I haven't totaled the previous one in yet... But... between all the videos I roll those dice on her channel and mine + a few extra games I've recorded, here's my running total: 3,546 rolls, average 3.50 1: 632 - 17.8% 2: 577 - 16.3% 3: 560 - 15.8% 4: 565 - 15.9% 5: 578 - 16.3% 6: 634 - 17.9% So, there's a slight bias, but a deviation not exceeding 1.3% is pretty darn balanced for me!
Bet it must feel real great to have your entire army ripped apart while all you can do is sit there and take it. The rules for Fury combined with Warmahordes turn structure is just fantastic isn't it. Nice to see Mk3 didn't really fix anything and that these games still suck.
It's a 50 point game. Game is balanced best at 75. Warmachine so far is pretty well dominating the large events so far In MK3. Stop complaining and play.
Good to see the community is still just insulting people instead of trying to prove why warmahordes is a good game...... I see that didn't change with the new edition
M: ".. these games still suck." j: "Stop complaining and play." jc: "git gud" None of the replies come close to being as insulting as the original comment.
