Warhammer 40,000 Combat Patrol Magazine - Release News & Subscription Changes! 

What sometimes people aren’t realising….with combat patrol specifically, the older combat patrols rules don’t disappear when the new one arrives. They’re all still available on the WHC site. So the fact these come with the older (and better) combat patrols is no difference to anyone entering the hobby via this magazine series. So it’s win:win for all, new and experienced players.

Would be nice if they boosted the paint issues to 3 pots, with this many schemes might be limited with 31 paints

I'm finding that there's schism between GW want's us to play and what people want to do.

I would not object to adding drukhari to the selection. The combat patrol is already a great boxset. Another way to get boats would be great though

As long it contains the old Combat Patrols okay-isch changes for me as follows (I'm absolutely fine as it was announced): - The Water Pot instead of the Mug for subs - Another free model for subs (I own 2 copies of that version of the Campion and it is just usable in 40k as part of the Company Heroes unit, the 2023 event exclusive Commissar’s Duty for example) - Genestealers instead of the Broodcoven for premium subs (I'm going to buy the upcoming Killteam where the Broodcoven is included and Genestealers are just name giving to the faction but over all the Broodcoven is fine just for the magazine) - Wraithblades/-guard or Rangers or Vorsair Voidscarred or the Falcon tank instead of Howling Banshees (just possibilities within the same price point) - A CSM Lord (the one from Blackstone Fortress or the new one) instead of the Master of Possession, due to the fact fact that the MoP is in the new Combat Patrol for CSM (HQ for HQ change) - Acolyte Iconward & the Abominant instead of the Atalan Jackals, due to the fact that the Jackals are in the new CP for GSC (two medium sprues out, two small sprues in. Also they are nice visual addition to the Hybrits and the Aberrants) - The Terminator Chaplin instead of the Chaplin on Bike (it's just more thematic as a Terminator force - but I'm fine with the one on the bike, due to not having that model in my collection yet) - Jain Zar instead of the Autarch (HQ for HQ with respect to the Howling Banshees in the premium sub) - Cadian Castellan instead of the Commissar - A Defiler instead of the Maulerfiend (I prefer the Maulerfiend) The rest hopefully stays the same. Regards from Germany with the hope that this magazine also comes to us, like Conquest, Imperium and Stormbringer did.

I hope people enjoy the subscription. Im out for this one...this is the least value saving of all off the hachette/warhammer partnerships to date, and theres too many bits i dont collect in the series. Plus scaling back on GW stuff as a player as their prices are simply far too high. Going to concentrate on other rulesets for a bit...skirmish stuff and bolt action konflict 47 and maybe inifinity.

I disagree with the GSC one, both the reddit and our local WH group received that as a "well, could be worse" Box. Most of the GSC players allready had 1 or 2 of the boxes and the new one is a good addition, because the units are good (maybe the Alphus not so much but well). Other Combat Patrols have been way worse, especially Space Marines, CSM and... urgh Sisters. Oh and yes the value is obviously worse, but that is something we were all expecting... sadly the shrinkflation is continueing.

I feel its just a bad idea for a magazine, like these are already avaliable, the special units aren't that amazing. The saving is good but not amazing and why wait the course of 18 months when you could get it all now. I'm gutted I missed out on Imperium, they should've just gone with something similar to that but different factions. I'm gonna cancel my subscription to Combat Patrol, while waiting I've collected most from ebay for way cheaper than the magazine or boxes.

The cynic in me says they'll be a price increase, I really hope I'm worng. If this crept up to £10.99 it would mean me not subscribed. We'll see, but at least there should be clarification in the near future. It's great news that this is going ahead.
