*the beneficent emperor give us this opportunity to prove ourselves… to show the heretics no mercy… and show them the might of the imperium…. ¡May the emperor by proud!*
A song has never captured the feeling of overwhelming odds you have to face just to live, until Jesper Kyd decided to blow our minds. You could say doom rivals it, but Doom's soundtrack is more towards being the unstoppable force massacring its way through hordes. This one shows the struggle and fight you're thrown into, that instead of being the unstoppable force, you're trying to stop it.
There is no Doom Slayer in Warhammer 40,000, after all. The galaxy would likely be a much safer place if there was. Instead, his eternal crusade falls into _our_ shoulders: the Astra Militarum... If the enemies of man dare wish to harm those we love and care so dearly, they'll have to sift through _OUR_ bodies first!
This tune is an absolute banger, perfect for getting you hyped up for a map finale. It plays during the Forge restart mission. I actually managed to solo that finale as a Zealot... The organs, pits full of molten metal, my character cursing any heretics in range... Absolutely peak 40k. 👌
"May the Emperor guide my shots. May my weapon serve as his holy instrument to deliver justice unto the unworthy. May the very fire of the Emperor's fury cut down his adversaries where they stand. May I be the vessel of the Emperor's vengeance and deliver terrible retribution unto his foes. May the burning light of my weapon be imbued with the wrath of the Emperor himself, and may his enemies know no peace or refuge as long as I draw breath. *For the God Emperor!"*
I'm so happy to discover that the Warhammer 40K Mechanicus soundtrack created a way to "hear" the world of Warhammer 40K. I hope the next Warhammer 40k series sounds like this too. It sounds incredible. I love this track.
These are words I tend to echo into my fellow Helldivers while eradicating Automatons in the name of all those who gave their lives fighting the Necrons.
