I am living for this series, and loving this long-form almost podcast of a video. Please please please do long videos of the battles with unit maps like in the old White Dwarfs!
"Lewis is marge" The Yogscast has lost a employee due to an unfortunate accident causing the permanent removal of Duncan Jones. No further details are available

Great stuff - another awesome painting session to watch whilst also doing some painting of my own. Love the look of Mike's Tyranids, it's how I like painting them with a white undercoat and then plenty of washes etc to build up the organic look. Nice to see some customisation being thrown into the mix as well with these forces, especially Barry's Astra Militarum - very cool indeed.
Barry's cadians look awesome with the boonies. I never played this or collected it but looking at his amry I'd love to start colleting, painting and playing!
Do not use Dettol, it creates this impossible to get off sort of slimey gunk, use methylated spirits, it makes the paint into dust instead of sticky gunk and its much easier to remove and doesn't stink out your house/office.
Hoot Hoot Gamer It doesnt, if you do it right, you have to get the paint off with a toothbrush then was it with cold water otherwise the water+dettol+paint will raperino together
Gotta love infantry-heavy guardsmen. Back in 6th I used to play a guard army just for fun, and one of the things I did was drop a full platoon of 5 Infantry Squads + Their Platoon Command Squad, Put them all on one huge Warhammer Fantasy movement tray and march them forward like a Napoleonic battalion. Yes they died constantly if the enemy dropped enough templates but if even half of them reached the enemy then even Terminators would drown in Lasgun fire more often than not.
Absolutely loving this series. I've just came back to the game myself, not played since 4th ed. Building 1,000 points of Guard myself, literally been painting and building with these videos on
As for the tyranid model, paint it a bleached bone colour, wash it with agrax earthshade or a fleshy colour, then either do a green edge / blotch towards the top for a poison effect, OR dab it with a blood effect inconsistently up and down the sword.
Its like "Oh yeah my 500pts is 2 space marines and a tire with a chainsword lying on it" Then "Well my 500pts is 345 guardsmen and a armored column of 12 leman russ"
Games Workshop's answer to the wolf issue was that "there are no wolves on Fenris" Because all the wolves are actually space marines that matured a bit too far and so all the furs are actually people skin
I'm loving the way they are swithing up people appearing in these videos, why so much hate? At the end of the day, they are all a part of the yogscast whether it be in other yogscast series or just people who work mainly in the office. Why bother watching these videos if you are just gonna complain?!!!! Makes me laugh how people comment so much negativity yet they click on the video and watch it.... 😑😑😑😂
Joschua Brinkmann thats funny because it seems like you have a completely empty and meaningless life, telling people to "pitty" them and spreading hate about a bunch of people who are just hanging out and chatting on a video.... I think that many people should and will *pity* you on your lack of kindness and the lack of knowledge to the fact that saying stuff like that just paints you out to be a dick 😂😂😂 stop and think before you comment
The whole Peta thing with GW was brilliant when it was all happening they put out a fur painting tutorial just to piss them off: ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-OadKdLf30qQ.html Also Blood Angels do not need blood they're just a bit aggressive and overkill allot (also known as being bloodthirsty)
as someone who also removed the paint from entire armies of warhammer minis... metho (methylated Spirits) works best, even better in an ultrasonic, 15 mins and the paint falls off like a skin under tap water, and doesnt melt plastic/pewter (dunno about resin though) every model went back to looking like it did when i clipped it off the sprue
Oh my god! I remember back in primary school a friend getting into Warhammer and he showed me a box of some figures and was like "These things are the best!" I never remembered the name of them and occasionally tried to find what they were, I thought they were like... lizards or something. 14 years later... Tyranids, I finally know they are Tyranids. I can die now.
I always found that spraying the back base spray before you assemble them, to be the easiest way of making sure you get all the nooks and crannies. Just what I used to do. ...back when I had free time. ;(
Some stats you mentioned have been FAQ for example the ghostkeel is no longer -2 to hit and only -1 even with drones near by. I have one and didnt even get to use it before that nerf came out. Great video and look forward to the battles. Been doing some painting of my own while watching. For the Greater Good
No I am hoping someone does chaos. We have two space marine players, two tau, two imperial guard, one necron and one tyranid so far. Hopefully more people will join with other races or some of the extras will change. Maybe some eldar, dark eldar, sisters, chaos, Inquisition or mass deamon army. IDK anything then what we have.
Quick tip- Methylated spirits work much better than dettol, literally after 20 mins of soaking the paint comes right off, and it doesnt cause any damage to plastics, resins or metal models
As things stand right now guard are actually one of the top armies, leman russes can now put out a devastating number of shots and regimental doctrines are pretty crazy.
For example, Duncan is excited about his razorback (costs 100 points) firing 12 strength (actually 6) shots, when a russ punisher (150 points) fires 40 strength 5 shots.
He gets hate? From where? I only see him on High Rollers, on Hat Films occasionally and of course his own channel. What channels is he getting hate on?
Oh snap more Tau! Sweet, and the Farsight Enclaves to boot!? God, maybe this'll make me get to painting mine XD Can't let turps outdo me! Also I was not expecting all the god damn Yogscast to be so good at painting!
My dad used to work for games Workshop and i remember going to a games day where the HQ is. Friggin huge amount of figures and models and such. Shame it's so pricey now.
I don't know if you have time, but you might do a quick skirmish, with very low point armies, just to go over the basic rules. An Intro to 40k if you will.
I'm honestly surprised nobody did Ultramarines. Seriously, they're the core of the space marines and they're the only ones with a primarch to throw into the battle! (I may be biased because of my brother)
So this "One-eye" Tyranid guy is basically the equivalent of Kazrak One-Eye of the Beastmen in Warhammer Fantasy Battles? Games Workshop once again amaze me with their level of originality between their games...
No it's not. It's hard to make special characters for the Tyranids because they are a mindless horde. So they have to instead have basically "legendarily strong" ones that become infamous. Old One Eye is probably the oldest Tyranid actively fighting in the galaxy as it has a insanely powerful regeneration mutation. So while it's own hive fleet got destroyed it's still wandering around murdering thousands. Kazrak was only one eyed to give him a rival with Todbringer. Beyond that he was just "Grimgor for the Beastmen"
From what I remember, Kazrak was poked in the face by Todbringer to give him his nickname. One-eye was shot in the face, as they mention. The similarity in how they got their characteristic seem too big to make it a coincidence.
Hey being that guy again. Sigmar has got a lot better. The Generals handbook is basically a yearly rules update responding to feedback from the customers. Also if you like 8th ed 40k thats based loosely on the latest Sigmar rules.
I'm sorry but you are wrong, sigmar is still shit and 8th edition while still more like sigmar it is mainly 7th edition with a small change in forms like the fixed WS , sigmar's main issue too is that there is that all that nice fluff of fantasy has been poured down the drain. The yearly updates of the general's handbook is excellent but it is one of the ONLY and I mean only redeeming factor of Sigmar, plus with the rise of the warhammer community and the actual competitive implementation of FAQs the need for live updates on the central rules like the general handbooks is receding.
I live really close to Warhammer world. It's changed a lot now. The shop is bigger and there is a forgeworld shop on site now which is pretty cool. Only problem is they charge you to get into the gallery now which is a bit of a piss take.
This episode of 40K painting is much better than the last one more miniatures more chatting more group chat more painting and less story telling even though its interesting i know im late im just new to games night
