Experienced guardsmen aren't going to fawn over astartes every time they see them.

They seem to be the cadian shock troopers, so not crazy that they're not shocked to see Adeptus Astartes.

They're trying to not throw up, space marines stench is horrid. Theres even a lil dialogue at the begining when a soldier says ''those bastards can poison you with their stench alone''

Very much agree, they shouldn't be useless, they are the main fighting force of the Imperium after all

unfortunately the only things the guard have going for them are courage, loyalty, faith and numbers Millions die every day, their numbers are so large the astra militarum likely has no idea just how many men and women they have on frontlines - but they are still the bravest of the humanity

@@holydoggo4822 I just want them to fight like their lives are on the line. Drop some gaunts with the lasguns and maybe a warrior or two when there's heavy weapons about.

This is pretty cannon, though. They are cannon fodder. They fight wars of attrition, not effectiveness.

@@jaketheman1577 There's a difference between that and half of them running around aimlessly, incapable of taking down 1 gaunt, with cover and a squad of Primaris Marines supporting you. I know the Guard is a meat grinder. They're stronger than this though.

@@deepvoid2871 You mean the power-armored dudes? Those are Space Marines of the Ultramarine Chapter. The bug monsters are Tyranids and the regular soldiers are the Imperial Guard. Inquisitors are a whole other can of worms.

​@@RakeandRideExecutions are actually what heal you in the game. In SM1, you had to brutally murder someone to heal. Here, you have medpacks. HOWEVER. You also have three armor bar things. Which I believe execs heal.

@@mathias2277 yeah. gears 4 and 5 were kinda boring tbh - gears 4 was okay but the whole open world style of gears 5 plus the whole male cast taking a backseat to the female lead was kinda lame... I cant even remember her name and i played thru 4 and 5 lmao...

i hope they add some different armor skins - thatd be cool if we could reskin to any color/chapter - of course thatd contradict the characters and story but lol XD idk

That's because starcraft is essentially a warhammer 40k game. Blizzard was contracted by games workshop to make a game and there was something that happened when blizzard had an almost finished game. They decided to change some things and release it as their own

@Crisisdarkness yeah no problem, I've been a starcraft fan for like 18 years, I didn't find out until I got into warhammer earlier this year. I prefer the warhammer universe now that I've gotten into it.

Yeah Tyranids are quite similar to zerg. imo tehy are more dangerous simply because their forces are far more numerous and surround the entire 40k galaxy it would seem - which means they survived possible thousands of years in dark space in between galaxies... the zerg were never that successful but they also started as an infestation within the starcraft galaxy that the protoss and terrans immediately start trying to deal with - where as the tyranids are preformed invading force. Imo the zerg possess greater mutational potential and much more varied kinds of troops and tbh id take them in 1 on 1 fight but the Tyranids are quite dangerous and perhaps the greatest foe in the 40k universe - i forsee the canon uniting many of the races, particular the Tau, Eldar and the Imperials/Space Marines in some kind of tacit alliance until they can rebuff the advances of the tyranid forces.

I'd say that's a bit of harsh judgement when none of the warhammer games has been lore accurate to that. I think all that matters is if the games gives you the feeling of being a super soldier who is better than everyone else.

@@megamente7849 Still, Lore aside, I think it would be kinda hard making a game look serious if his head kept exploding and regrowing. Only time Ive seen that happen was in Men in Black and I cant recommend those scenes as serious😋

World building is actually pretty accurate here, guardsmen die in billions while protecting systems from Tyranids.

Or, it's a custom made series of segments handcrafted to run on this machine. These demos always are- they're so far removed from the real game it's laughable

The framerate is chugging here. Very noticeable drops at times.

That's actually quite doable: _Brutal Legend_ is an RTS game where you contol your army by activly moving around the battlefiend the wayyou would in a 3rd person action game/3rd person shooter. Apply that kind of design to a Space Marine chapter and you're good to go.

While I love warhammer those 2 games are shoe ins for goty, maybe in your personal list that’s the case but you’d have a hard time convincing the majority that this game is going to do more for gaming than totk or baldurs gate besides being excellent fan service for warhammer fans me included

yeah imagine like a whole different game mode. Where you can buy defenses, guardsmen and vehicles. Maybe more space marines aswell. While tyrannids are rushing you and increasing in density round by round.

ooo yeah like in some of the gears of war recent games where you can set up barbed wire and turrets etc. Would be REALLY cool to get a mini strategy game inside of a 3rd person shooter
