The Thunder Bolt is my favorite fighter. Dan's Double Eagle shows them off great.

A flying brick, like so many other Imperial ships. I'm amazed it can get off the ground, but impressive, never the less.

Love how it looks like a BF-109 WW2 German fighter from the side, a stuka or a 1996 Sukhoi 47 from above, and a Battlestar Viper.

Even dough I personally am more of a B-wing (SW) and viking (SC2) guy, I do have to admit that thunderbolt is beautiful. The beefy design and good firepower, if I’d be unfortunate enough to end up in 40K I wouldn’t mind getting into one of these, It slightly reminds me of American WW2 era thunderbolts. And i like how everyone here tries to compare it to one of many ww2 era aircraft, as everyone sees the craft differently.

Definitely buying the new aircraft lines from Warhammer and painting them as historic liveries of P-47s in WW2!

The Thunderbolt is really beautiful.

I think that the Thunderbolt was created from the German late-war jet fighter-bomber Schwalbe/Sturmvogel with its side engines, central cockpit and general functions. Also, if I had to redesign it, I would draw heavily on the Schwalbe for a more streamlined silhouette and replace the double autocannons with rotary guns (basically, a gatling gun on each side) because there's no reason it shouldn't have them.

GrimDark Narrator yeah a bomber will more than do. bye the way. what weapons do hive cities often have for defense. i think i read somewhere in damocles that hive cites usally have macro canons. but i don't know if that is the only weapon.

Promethium is jet fuel as well!? What isn't promethium used for?

Jesus Millan I think they just refine promethium different like we do petroleum, to create different uses.

Spitfire with Jet ????nice armour....new Lasplasma cannon's 2/4 set, 2 storm bolter????plus small wing! It needs to get off the planet unless its a home world "no space marine"??
