i personally don't get why it'd be such a big deal wanting female characters in things like the Custodes, when the Sisters of Silence, who last i checked work with the Custodes anyway, exist, and i'd say the Sisters of Silence are a bit cooler, just because they are Blanks, not just more powerful versions of space marines, plus, the Adeptas Sororitas exists for those who would want something at least similar to a female space marine chapter

@@micah5918 The issue has never been the fact that female Custodes exist, it was how they were implemented. If it was about being progressive we would have gotten more than a paragraph of lore about female Custodes. Right now as things are, there was exactly 1 female Custodes that did anything of note in the last 10k years, compared to all the male ones we have had until now (which are quite a few). So kind of the opposite of the inclusive message.

sisters of silence... so you know how psykers have a heightened connection to the warp? they basicly have a field around them that nullifies or lowers the connection to the warp(like psykers, its a massive gradient, some people with this mutation are more potent than others), making them not only feel soulless to the average person, but psykers being ANYWHERE around them will send the psykers into an immense amount of pain to the point where theyd rather you off them to make the pain stop than being anywhere near them...

They are talking about the Sisters of Silence. Like the Culexus assassins, they are all blanks and are anathema to psykers and those with presence in the warp, be it chaos-aligned or not. Their presence disrupts psychic activity and is immune to most forms of psychic assault. Their primary purpose is to seek out and apprehend psykers. As psychic nulls, they can't be targeted by psychic powers and can prevent nearby psykers from attempting to manifest their powers. They are Silent because of the oaths they take. However, some can amplify their blank powers through speech, like how the Culexus assassin can amplify their power through their headgear. So quite literally some sisters can say, "Good morning, have a nice day" to a bunch of psykers or chaos aligned enemies, and in turn those enemies would wish they have never been born due to the agony that comes with that power. It makes them feel as if their very souls are being sucked out. So when a Sister speaks in combat. RUN.

There is a canonical reason, it says in the 7th edition of the Custodes codex thar they are recruited from the SONS of nobles. Sons, not children, not offspring, the SONS of nobles.
