The universe of Warhammer 40k is totally unknown to me. Only reason I bought this game is because I like CRPG, Owlcat and played tons of both Pathfinder. I have NO idea what I'm getting in.
@@TheDragonfriday Everyone in WH40K are the good guys. They are good guys by keeping their race alive and destroying other races and getting new planets and resources for their race.
The tabletop version is great, owlcat did a great job making the game feel like a literal video game version of the tabletop 😅 you’re basically the GM playing the game on your own but in the tabletop, the rogue trader could be an NPC and everyone plays as lowly crew members accepting orders from the rogue traders. Classes are now implemented in your companions so you won’t really miss out on most builds from the tabletop.
@@crow4936you may’ve already seen this (and I may be misunderstanding it), but they’ve announced a DLC that will let you have an assassin in your party I think
@@Unblacklievable yeah a death cult assassin , I was looking more at the others and also maybe genstealer cult stuff but I guys the games not big enough.
For what its worth - Crime Lord works alarmingly well with a forgeworld warrior Assassin. Good god the amount of movement speed and dodge (and dodge rating is damage for Assassins) the Locomotion forge world trait gives is absolutely insane and power weapons sheer through armor like nothing else. You are basically pulling stunts from The Matrix, in universe you are basically an unsanctioned Ad Mech Sicarian Infiltrator/Ruststalker - YOU FAST BOI.
Bounty hunter is crazy man, both savour the kill and trail proc every "at the start of your turn" "at the end of your turn" abilities/talent, and cassio is very happy whenever my bh proc extra turn outside of officer skills
Mines a psycher that's fallen to the warp but isn't brainless enough to just attack and kill everything I'm slowly planting seeds of corruption across the expamse6
Depending on the range of the Biomancy abilities, you could do a ranged combat medic like build. Heavy armor and some sort of melta/ high damage gun raining death while buffing and healing in the middle of battle.
@@shadowmarine156 I already did see videos that confirmed that the biomancer is a pretty strong melee build. Other builds are hopefuly viable too for the biomancer.
@@sagittariusa9012 I'm hoping for a build where i can stand mid line so i can buff and heal the front line while also absorbing any damage that would normally go to the back line/castors while still occasionally melting targets with a heavy gun
Note on the regimental tactics ability, some difficulty options affect minimum damage against enemies, there is currently a bug in the game and friendly fire is affected by these settings so if you have any of these minimum damage options on, default with normal difficulty, then even with protection from friendly fire your allies will take this minimum damage.
Great video. Like you, I am a novice with regard to WH40K. I have read a couple of the books, but I have never played the game. I appreciate your time and effort on this video. Thank you! It helped me! Minor nit: I am an engineer and a nerd, but the grammar school marms did right by me. 😃 1:35. "They are not all created equal." It should be "created equally", as equal is acting as an adverb here.
It's actually a great RPG! So I think you should choose your character based on your personal tastes, not of which one is better. And system works perfectly here! Made a Commissar from hive-world, who uncovered a plot in his regiment and was nearly killed in the outcome.. so most of this results in perks, abilities and penalties)
I love this game. My first play through had too many bugs and the patches didn't help. I restarted yesterday with all of the patches and it's super fun. Hive World crime lord soldier has such fun gameplay and dialogue.
I love all the difficulty options I freaking love owlcat for giving options in their game...I love the genre but find it a bit frustrating often....but OC really really loves to give me options to customize my experience
I think multiple operatives have synergy. Pascal and Idira are operatives. They stack exploits passively. They don't need to be fully built operatives.
Started fresh with a crime lord, soldier, fortress world.. so many options.. The big one for me witch to go for between heretic, dogmatic or iconoclast.. leveling would be a chore if not for all the cool options.. can respec before leveling next class so don't sweat it too much
So happy, I always wanted to get into warhammer 40k and now i finally found the right game to do so.. i believe ima get my ass kicked first time around but cant wait to learn this game in time. I definitely cant wait to get into the lore of this game. Wish me luck!!!
Started yesterday im lost af. Basically jst movin n attacking , no idea about anything else. No clue what im leveling up either. Haven't played DD since the early 90s.
20:00 the pyro isnt worth picking. tried it and was out damaging its abilities, at power 4, with my sniper. i really hated its attack options, either a single target which does nice damage but again sniper keeps up with it or a line which you rarely have enemies in place for multi hits with a line and this was disappointing for a class described as one of the most destructive types of psykers.
Thank you for the video. Gonna say I would really like to play this game, but I feel that I would just be overwhelmed with everything in there. So many talents to use in combat, with multiple characters, doesn´t that become exhausting very fast?
love 40k, nice to actually have a good computer game from them as they have so many bad ones through the years. think earliest good one I played was shadow of the horned rat if not including good old chaos from spectrum.
Woah woah woah now "Codyak"? I did not expect to run into anyone who used the same pun name as myself, and even better than it's the other spelling. Alright then.
You know what...you're right. No idea why I've just assumed CRPG meant classic-RPG. To be fair, Computer-role playing game might have made sense when consoles didn't have similar capabilities, but it certainly seems like an antiquated term now.
Forge world is a good homework origin for warrior if you want high armor rate based on toughness. They get a passive that boost Power armor gear as well. Death world is also a choice since it focus on Berserker and survival style traits. Navy officer is a more tank focus profession origin as well.
Dont get how Regimental Tactics works... Allies being adjacent to me makes sense, but do enemies have to be adjacent to me (or adjacent to an ally, that is adjacent to me to get that bonus damage?), considering it seems to encourage a RANGED character. With the way its worded, it seems like it will only give a buff against enemies that are adjacent to a character benefiting from this ability... which makes no sense. Allies having to be adjacent to the character giving this ability to benefit from it is fine and makes sense, but with the way its worded it seems like a melee range ability... on class that seems to encourage ranged.
it says all your allies (if i'm not mistaken so not the ones next to you) Your party deals bonus dmg against all enemies standing next to one of your party members It removes friendly fire dammage (you still hit but do 0 dmg) So example you have a melee guy surounded by 3 dudes, you pop this and now those 3 dudes take extra dmg from your guy standing next to them and they take more dmg from your ranged guys, you can trow grenades in the big melee blob or bbg the whole area and you wouldn't hurt your own guy
IDK, it just feels like a shitty, useless ability. If it only increases damage for melee (effectively) then it needs to be reworked IMO, since that makes no sense from a design perspective. Ability that only helps melee, on an origin that wants you to build ranged. Terrible IMO. Thinking of restarting just to get an agility that has any use.@@Dorphin01
@@hansyolo8277It does what it says. Pop regimental tactics. Lure enemy into melee (trap). Open fire on them. A 30% bonus to damage at level 1 is enough to one shot most enemies, and kill the Chaos spawn in a single turn on Unfair difficulty. The melee dude is just the bait for the trap for everyone else to blast the mob/high value target. Edit: Run Abelard in. Use taunt/wait until enemies are surrounding him, or target a boss you need killed/pinned in place. Regimental tactics for damage buff and so Abelard doesnt get team killed. Argenta uses (rapidfire)Burst > Run and Gun > Burst. She shoots 15+ shots at Abelard who just sips tea while holy bolter fire turns everything around him to bits. Abelard is completely unharmed.
So, I watched the whole video, but I spent 3 or 4 hours looking at the character creator and watching someone else play through some of the starting game. I've still got no idea what is good or did you try and say it's all good just pick right. See I'm still an idiot.
blahblahblah nothing really important or substantial to say just hyping the game yaddayaddayadda if you're looking for superficial jabbering, you're at the right place...for ppl looking for real information, you won't get it here.
