Warhammer 40K: Space Marine 2 - Let's Play Part 9: Defend the Reactor 

GOD DAMN. This video starts off strong! Blacking out the room and giving you a flamethrower to fight off a small hoard was an excellent bit of a game design. It looked so cool.

Pyskers are trained to resist the whispers of Chaos when they use the warp. An the only reason Titus was taken away is because he was ABLE to resist temptation by Chaos. An that his battle brother was adamant that NO ONE could have resisted Chaos like he did. So Titus must have some connection to the Warp, but since he has no training but his mind is strong, he is not able to wield the warp, but resist it. Take it like this, if you use the warp, Chaos powers can find you an try to take over your mind in whispers if your not trained to resist the temptation. This is just my take.

Not all warp-stuff is chaos, but almost all chaos shenanigans involve the warp.

Continuity and lore notes: Titus was referring to the fight at the beginning of the campaign where he was the last member of his Deathwatch kill team fighting alone against a Carnifex that mortally wounded him. Also worth noting is how Titus and his two companions discuss the motives of the Tyranids with his companions questioning why the Tyranids are impeding their mission with Titus simply stating that the Tyranids are not there to stop them from completing their mission but rather the Tyranids are there to only kill them. The Tyranids seek only to consume and evolve; they have no other goal or purpose and therefore cannot be negotiated with. Think of the Warp as a vast ocean of energy. Psykers can tap into that energy to use psychic abilities; however, there are also predators in that ocean of energy just like there are in Earth's oceans. These predators are the Chaos Gods and their minions, and they use the Warp as well. Only Inquisitors and their psychic acolytes; Sanctioned Psykers, psykers bound to the Emperor that fight in the Astra Militarum (aka Imperial Guard); Space Marine Librarians, Space Marine psykers; Astropaths, psykers used for intergalactic communications; and Navigators, a special mutation of human psykers that use their third eye to look into the Warp to guide space vessels through the Warp for intergalactic travel, are allowed to use their psychic powers for the benefit of the Imperium of Man. All others are collected and sent to the Black Ships to be taken to Terra to literally feed the Emperor as he requires 1,000 psykers a day to maintain what remains of himself and to power the Astronomicon, the lighthouse that guides Navigators through the Warp. Think on that last part for a bit. 1,000 people with psychic abilities are sacrificed each day for over 40,000 years; that is more than 14.6 billion people sacrificed so that the Emperor does not truly die. Weapons: The various bolt weapons in the game provide a wide range of profiles. The bolt carbine is essentially the SMG; the bolt rifle is the standard battle rifle; the auto bolt rifle is the squad automatic weapon; the stalker bolt rifle is the DMR; the heavy bolt rifle is the medium machine gun; and lastly the heavy bolter is the heavy machine gun. It is stated that the facility's reactor is a volkite reactor. There are volkite weapons that were used by the Imperium's armies in the distant past. In the current setting, such weapons are extremely rare. A volkite weapon is a thermal ray gun that causes the target to explosively combust.

Look up the Grey knights. They're a chapter of the space Marines that are all highly trained psykers.

I died about 4 times at the last part with those two flying dickheads. I knew I had to get rid of them asap but didn’t realise grenades were the way to go. Also there is a sniper that shows up in this phase and you can kill him in seconds by shooting the blue canisters beside him. Plasma sword is also your friend in this scenario. I’m sure many of you know this but for anyone that doesn’t try that.

Cowboy, search up Warhammer Sly Morbo. He is the biggest gigachad in a world of gigachads. He's basically Chuck Norris of Warhammer 40k. Sly Morbo trew a grenade, 50 tyranids died and then the grenade exploded. He's a Catachan, human warriors based entirely on 80's action movies, the stuff they do is insane, even by Warhammer 40k standards

It was warp energy. The warp and chaos are related.

Think of the Warp as a sea of infinite power and potential. It was originally calm and many races could control and use the power for anything they could imagine. Since feelings basically control the warp and negative feelings have more power the Chaos Gods were formed "3 main 1 forgotten" Later thanks to the Eldar Slanesh was born and created the great rift. Psychers are able to tap into that plain of power and use it for their own purposes. They have to be CLOSELY monitored!!! There is the Black Fleet that travels the entire Emperium to collect ANYONE that has ANY psychic ability to be judged by the Emperor. A Psycher that passes the Emperor gets trained in how to Resist the corrupting influence of Chaos. Psychers are a direct connection for Demons and such to Posses that Psycher and their power. They are Extremely Dangerous! But as long as they remain Pure, they are very powerful weapons against Chaos

Chaos IS a part of warp, sort of. Psykers are trained to control their powers, but there is always possibility to goes insane using warp powers. Psykers use warp-powers (you can call it refined), chaos sorcerers use raw warp magic from their patron Chaos Gods

Please forgive the newb question, but looking at the Power Sword combo screen page (as shown at 15:00 in the video), what does the broken shield icon mean in some of the moves? Example: The Power Rake says, "In the middle of the combo {broken shield icon}, hold right mouse button." What action does that broken shield icon represent? Does it just mean pause your inputs for a sec before pressing and holding the right mouse button?

When you hear people talk about "chaos" in Warhammer, it's referring to the malevolent things that exist within the Warp. Generally this pertains to the 4 Chaos Gods, which get called the Ruinous Powers. Some chaos cultists just worship multiple or the idea of chaos in general. Each Chaos god has its own domain and they each bestow various "gifts" upon those who serve them long enough. This is usually in the form of horrible mental anguish or mutations.

Cowboy what do you think the chances they show bloodborne remake for the new ps5 pro and it's a bundle at sonys state of play?
