On Helldivers 2, Sony still hasn’t reactivated access to around 177 countries on PC. Which is why over 50% of the player base vanished practically overnight and still has yet to recover.

Helldiver 2's big issue is the they keep nerfing the 'good' options instead of buffing the bad ones. Its the exact wrong way to balance things. As for Warhammer I can't buy Space Marine 2 out of principle as GW has decided to destroy the core lore of the game to pander to an audience that doesn't exist. I will not abide heresy.

Yes! Finally someone speaking about the insanity in Destiny 2! I've been talking about this for months! And worse with Osiris and Saint 14 they retconned them. According to the original lore and the canon comic they were friends and brothers but you know that is impossible these days. They spent over a year focusing on their relationship in a FPS action game! It was so annoying. I don't play action packed FPS games for a cheesy romance. But then my issues go as far back as Season of the Splicer when they turned the Guardians into horrible oppressors of the Fallen. 🤦‍♀️ Or the stupid tea cup scene with Saint 14 and Osiris but left out any cut scene where they ended Lakshmi 2. But then I found an article that has said over time the original D2 writers have been replaced and right now the D2 writing team is made up of a lot of women. The most female department in Bungie. After I found that out I was not surprised by the changes.

It has been a few years now, that they tried to get rid of the word master in coding. But the git master branch is the master branch for a reason. And so is the master/slave pattern. They describe exactly what their purpose is. I now take extra care to always refer to these as master instead of main or whatever bad replacement people would like to take root. It gives me some goosebumps to see "racial" diversity in the same Astartes' chapter. I mean, it is not that I have a problem with it, in absolute. What tickles me the wrong way, is that you have this chapter- the Ultramarines- a chapter whose primarch is well alive and when you know how an Astartes is created well it bothers a wee bit.

You forgot to mention that while Sony removed the account restriction on Helldivers 2, they still haven't released the country lock on Steam. That's where a large portion of those missing players are. They're in countries with no PSN service, and Playstation has upheld the denial of service.

The issue I have with live service is that once the servers go down, the game you PAID for is no longer playable and essentially have had it stolen from you.

That Ashley lead writer you mentioned in the beginning already left Saber in May 2023 after being there for 1.5 years. It looks like this lead writer was working on Space Marine 2 for a year (Oct 2021 - Sep 2022). I wonder if there has been any re-writes since then (let's hope). Wokeness is always a slippery slope. Not in a logical fallacy sense, but in the sense the "some wokeness" doesn't simply "accidentally" get into the game. For example, if I created a video game, there would not accidentally be black characters in the game if the years and years of lore had none in it, in the same way that a white character wouldn't be in my game if there were no such characters in the lore. In other words, the injection of "diversity" in the space marines trailer, despite inconsistency with the lore, is intentional and absolutely a hint of more to come. These people play for keeps and will push as far as they can get away with. If they could get away with all black space marines, they would all be black. If they could get away with all black trans space marines, they would all be black trans. Absolutely zero doubt. And if there is not trans agenda in the game, then it's automatically "transphobic" or "anti-trans". If it doesn't glorify lgbtq identities, then it must be "hateful" and not "inclusive". It's always the same bull%&$# gaslighting

You're talking like this is now, but the writer in question left the Space Marine II's writing team back in Sep 2022 and left Saber Interactive entirely in May last year - this is clearly shown on her LinkedIn profile.

Epic's coding standard only applies to code that is going to be part of the Engine and engine source code. There's no way they can enforce it on anything else, and they know it. They try to control the way there customers code, and they lose those customers. The indies don't care, they won't follow the standards. And the big companies already have their own idiotic standards, and Epic's won't overule them. They can't even control the people who make engine plug-ins. As they're independent products done by independent companies. They can recommend all they want, but developers don't have to listen to them unless they work for Epic. Still I think with all the stupidity going on by the big developers, there's going to be a leveling of the playing field and the small indies who don't subscribe to the stupidity are going to emerge as the new players. I also see that with the gaming population growing older and seeing that the identity politics are invading the mainstream games that you'll see a shift towards the more 'mature' games. Going to a space where the people pushing the identity politics fear to tred (right now).

I would not claim Space Marine 2 is forsaking the agenda until after the game has come out. With everything going on with Games Workshop right now, this is absolutely NOT a pre-order game. Wait until it comes out and people have gone through the content.

I'm new to the Warhammer miniatures side of the hobby and even then I've heard for over a decade about how shit GW is to the 40k IP fans, they recently raised prices for their already overpriced minis so I'm not hopeful for a good Space Marine game

Persistant Company owned online servers werent neccesary in the past... to claim that they need to have paid for cosmetics because they need to have servers is simply huffing copium. Also I have heard that the developers are incredibly woke so I think they will kill off Captain Titus and have you play as a female guardsman for 99% of the game and one shot a Swarmlord with a touch because Woke. 2: Henry Cavil issue: we know he is not happy with what’s going on but remember that he is under contract from either Amazon or GW so it is not like he can say much about it.

Gender identity isn’t really something a normal minded individual would want to make public anyway. They would rather tell someone they trust like a close friend, parent or a teacher/counselor that they feel like they can talk to. I don’t see why mainstream media keeps saying “you want this and you’re going to like it” when people just want something they can genuinely enjoy.

The female Custodes bothered me so much because it breaks the immersion of the universe - lets say they did make one, which would never happen, but if they did, to make the perfect warrior (which Custodes are) you must remove all female characteristics - breast are literally dead weight, gone - female hips? Slow and inefficient, gone. Female fine bone structure? Weak, gone. Female dainty features like small hands, narrow shoulders and generally smaller upper body? Weak, gone. Female facial characteristics? Fine jaws are gone because they affect skull structure and reduce fortitude, men have 12-15% bigger brains to control that extra body mass, so female smaller heads? Gone. There won't be a single female characteristic left, you wouldn't be able to tell they were female without taking of their armor and looking at their crotch - post conversion they would look exactly like dudes because male features = strong features. And the idea of Custodes wearing make-up, growing long hair, or dying their hair is so laughable that I'd instantly drop any media that even tries to insinuate that this isn't entirely insane - it goes against everything they are and always have been. Then there's the fact that female Custodes would never get made in the first place, the Imperium doesnt care about DEI, they arent going to waste extra effort using female bases for Custodes to get a result thats the same or inferior, learning to deal with an entirely different chromosome and a weaker base for no gain when they can just use men who are a known quantity to get the same result or better, Big E isnt a 2020s American Democrat... its nonsense. I love my female characters - a chubby black chick stood up to Valdor and lead a rebellion against what she determined was tyranny (Grand Provost Marshal Kawandire) - thats awesome - grizzled nuns with guns that freak out dudes because their instincts tell them that women shouldn't be this muscular and rugged is a cool concept in general, them being there because of a legal loophole regarding "men under arms" not being allowed for the imperial cult and enabling the Ecclesiarchy to have soldiers is a great idea, and even better is their power through faith and characters like Celestine - they stand next to Space Marines on the battlefield and play to their own strengths, with Sisters of Silence next to the Custodes with their own reason for existing that makes sense in lore - women being more likely to be blanks is a great idea, and fits with the SoB and the cultural idea that women are more connected to the supernatural and the divine - hell, even the recent CIA leaked docs on ESP and other mental powers all say women were more capable on average, this isn't a new idea, and since the "witches" of antiquity this has been a thing I have no issue with female or even trans characters if it makes sense - you have an entire faction of transhumans on Mars that cut parts of themselves off on the daily, if one of those guys starts saying they arent male or female anymore, I'm not gonna be too upset, but the idea of anyone from the rainbow mafia running around flaming out on Terra without instantly being thrown off a building for it is laughable, this a theocratic totalitarian dystopia, you can't also have it be the "utopia" you want to create where everyone is using the right pronouns or going to jail for transphobia - that's nonsense, and let's be real and admit that anyone who's entire self-worth and identity is entirely centred around the weird places their put their sex organs, or their modifications of those sex organs, they'd be Slaanesh cultists within 24 hours... TL;DR - you can create any character, but it has to fit the setting, female Custodes dont make any sense, and they actively damage the integrity of the setting.

A thing that Destiny 2 LF taught me is that NB means "developmentally stunted", Nimbus was a "super soldier selected to protect the city and instead of being someone with seriousness and resolve, he (yes, he has a wang marked in his leotard) he instead is basically a child. And you see the "NB" characters in media and they're all like that.
