To me it seems like the creative team at Tacticus needs a bit of a kick up the arse :- ) They seem to be good at creating fancy videos to promote the guy for potential new players, because existing players don't care about those videos. We want new campaigns, but from a SP perspective, there's little money in that. Why not making a Blood Angels vs. Tyranid campaign on a Space Hulk? That'd be pretty awesome.
A Space Hulk campaign would be awesome, but wouldn't it be Blood Angels vs. Genestealers? There is totally money in keeping your current players happy. Your current players buy Battlepasses, as well as buying easier access to LRE characters. New Players may buy offers, but they have no idea if they are worthwhile. I didn't but a damn thing until I was a month in, and I realized the daily Blackstone deal was very worthwhile.
I mentioned Space Hulk awhile ago. What if it was a flexible campaign that SP could change who the grind-able factions were? This would help with the need for creating a new campaign for each faction. Just throw them into the Thunderdome for a few months! Not only would this be efficient, but it feels thematic (think kill team and how they advertise the combatants, I think the same could apply with Space Hulks & tacticus).
They don't want to make a great game out of Tacticus, just a profitable one. It's really easy to get in a spot where you won't progress at good pace if you don't invest. We players get used to the grinding and find pleasure on those little upgrades per day, but a good game isn't paced that way In that regard, there are few good 40K games. That said, I'll pay 110 blackstone to upgrade Bellator to G1
SP has mentioned that campaigns are the most work for them to put together, but advanced players just blow through them once they get released. if you have a diamond character already to go, even the elite campaigns are trivial. It kind of takes the "strategy" out of the "turn based strategy" when your D3 Bellator carries you. It's a shame though because the storylines are the most interesting thing about the WH40k universe to me, and campaigns are the best way to tell that story
What they mean is they can't make as much money, as quickly, with campaigns vs making a new character and dumping him/her/it into a reskinned HRE/LRE framework. I imagine those $10-20 'short cut' packs are their biggest sellers outside of the hard currency sales. And if they were worried about strategy they could cap encounters the way they do with the hero quests and TA.
They will need more campaigns though because they are adding more upgrades with every new faction. Preferably you'd want an upgrade in multiple campaigns also as to not lock some players out.
@@fritzco55 I wish it was easier to alternate accounts. Since SP does not want us to actually play the game and I am, quite literally, always waiting to play the game because I can't buy energy or whatever event currency the game is hiding behind, I'd like to be able to switch accounts and play with another one. This is extremely difficult using an iOS device to the point where it's not worth it. But it's clearly a thing as all the blessed RU-vid content creators have multiple accounts. I guess it is an Android thing? Either way that would be another way to revisit old campaigns, by replaying them with another account. It would be fun to see just how much free shit the game throws at the new player on day one. I'd also purchase the Isabella offer on this account.
The problem with not making any new campaigns but still releasing new factions is that there’s limited space in the existing elite campaigns to have 100% drop rates for all rare items (since each new faction comes with their own unique items) and limited space for all the epic and legendary items to have elite nodes to farm on.
So there’s a super easy way to add campaign playability back into the game with minimal effort by SP. Once a campaign is fully 3 medaled…. Open restricted play through s, like legendary events. Ex: Indomitus elite but no summons. Add rewards to each node like the original play through. 3-4 restriction types per campaign and you’ve added 20+ new play throughs.
I don’t want to hear people sympathise for SP. They created campaigns for the first factions and then Saim Hann and mirror. No one asked for there to be campaigns at the start. They did it. And for each faction in the game should have its own campaign. No other game, whether it be mobile or proper game has characters/factions that don’t have their own part in a story. Secondly, it will get so hard farming for materials if they keep removing common/uncommon/rare nodes to replace them with the latest faction material like they’ve done with Blood Angels materials. Eventually they’ll run out of campaign space and you’ll only have 2 levels to farm each material. It will bottleneck newer players completely. They found the time to release all the campaigns thus far so shut up SP and dig yourself out of this hole. You make plenty of money to get more devs involved. I don’t want to hear “oh but older players will breeze through” That’s their fucking right as players who have given their time and money to this game. You’re saying they should be punished because they played the game?
Blood Angels v Tyranids would have been a great campaign. Also, a great mirror campaign setting a few months down the road...the fact that we did not get one under these circumstances (GW release synergies...) indicates we aren't ever going to get a new one. I mean, never say never, but they must not have one on the road map or they would have teased it. I was hoping some of you SP approved YT voices would comment on the anniversary 'deals'. People are *not* happy with them.
Well there is an event that starts next week ? Like yeah the deals sucks like last time with Actus, but the Actus event was great and if I remember correctly we got showered in gold and other rewards through the event chests ... Why would people expect deals like we datamined to be what should be expected for free ? Like it's a gatcha still ..
@@MidnightHozz The Potential to move this game forward into so much Lore ;for 37 years, is insane. If Snowprint does not utilize what is right in front of them they can lose the game very fast.
@@lewishorsman2219 they will? Like there is an actual anniversary event next week, it's not just those bad deals... It will probably be the same as Actus event during Christmas last time but regarding sho'syl this year
I personally enjoy the campaigns over other game modes but I do think it is a problem that once a mission is 3 starred you will never do anything but raid it. I think implementing a system where manually playing would give you better drop rates or use less energy would see them played alot more. It is also one of the core reasons to collect and invest in non meta characters and feel the game would lose a fair chunk of its appeal if it steered away from lore based campaigns.
More campaigns = reason to level more characters / buy the BS bundles for energy. Seems a bit shortsighted to not have more... even if people only playthrough once.
I think regardless of whether they bring out new campaigns, all characters need a way to be grinded. Too much rng with obtaining characters and they do not give enough value when you buy reqs imo. Also they pollute the req pool with MOWs and Orbs and the only people that are benefitting from the req track are content creators and whales that spend almost $3000 to buy all the reqs.
I just want a way to acquire the unobtainable legendary characters like Ragnar. I think maybe having a blank base campaign to be able to take certain factions that can yield potential rewards opposite from the characters you’re using, like mirror campaigns, but with more freedom.
This can destroy the game as a whole if this does not become a priority. The Lore can be used to create campaigns. All Three Super Factions of Chaos / Imperium of Man / Xenos can be utilized to create campaign stories for ALL characters in this game. The Lore of all Three Factions is so vast that Snowprint needs more Game Programmers within their company to really embrace this concept. Taking away campaign would be extremely detrimental to the lifespan of this game.
My expectation is that there will be a Blood Angels vs Nids devastation of Baal campaign announced later this fall based on all the artwork the last month or two. Incursion is sort of a campaign where you don't need a storyline and the materials are focused on one faction. The problem is that you'll never get enough from chests. I think they intend Incursion to be a more monetized version of campaigns (IE: bring your group against a set of enemies for medal rewards). Which is unfortunate, as the game is already extremely monetized.
I love the campaigns! I wish we had more. It makes grinding more fun because you can get your favorite characters as the reward. Plus, while they were simple stories, I still really enjoyed them.
I played Marvel Strike Force for 3 years. Players eventually made a list of unfarmable characters (the equivalent of requisition scrolls was not considered farmable). At some point, we had 30+ unfarmable characters. More were being released monthly than becoming farmable. They need to be pressured to release a schedule: after x months, this char will be added to war store, after x months, this will be added to guild store, new campaign will be added x times(1-2) annually with nodes for a whole team that is more than x months since release. Other hero collectors have these schedules. Without them, you will end up with a release schedule like MSF where more than a year has passed since a character’s event and they are unobtainable outside of requisitions. Normally isn’t too consequential UNLESS the character is key for certain game modes (like legendary events). The game company has an incentive to make them real money or requisition only. It was often hypothesized that characters were only becoming farmable after the undisclosed sales numbers dropped below a certain figure. I don’t believe they should be concerned with how quickly players complete a campaign. Punishing players for years of grinding your game is a bad policy. Although, some alternative would still be preferable to month/years of unfarmable characters. Again, I’ve seen it. It doesn’t feel good to have 4 of 5 for a team and not have any pathway to get #5 without regard to how much you play.
@@Cagedslinkygaming there's onslaught but with how time gated the ticketa are and how hard the later levels get it's not exactly the best source. It is helpful though
@@simonmasset2238 that doesn't even make sense. Yeah you unlock them, how are you getting shards to upgrade them to gold if you have no source of shards, Other than spending money.. that's the point. Clearly you misunderstood.
They could bring back old character quests. Maybe skip grindable characters and add a quest per month permanently. Keep the rewards for each quest and let the levels use energy. Make it so you can grind the epic and legendary levels 3 times a day. Give the legendary level a drop chance for shards. I think an average of 10 shards for 21 tries a week would be a good grinding pace. Somthing like this would be a win win situation imo. Try a character you don't own. Little work for SP. New rewards and the posibility to play content you missed.
My favorite mode is LRE, not for the character, but the challenge. My second favorite mode are challenging campaigns. As someone else has pointed out D3 characters blow through the campaigns when they are released. Perhaps they need to restrict campaigns to the Subfactions involved, or restrict Rarity like in Hero Quests. If they released a new Xeno vs. Xeno campaign such as Votann vs. Drukharii then no one could blow through them. They could also artificially slow campaign progress by only allowing you to complete a certain number of new missions per day. This could be a money maker as they could sell access to extra missions. Similar to Energy, but specific to new campaigns. Probably best not to do to starter campaigns.
I think the campaigns are the best feature. Most wanted is tau campaign but I’d also love some of the og unfarmables with sororitas and plague dudes. Always loved starting the game and seeing locked buyable campaigns but then they were really accessible and that’s rare.
One thing I wish is that they added new types of maps every 4-6 months, it's been like a year and a quarter since they added maps in arenas etc. by Saint Ham, I think they should move more since they are stagnating a lot in modes like Onslaught but with small variations.
I like campaigns and think that they should make all the characters accessible through a campaign grind, or maybe some kind of arena shop currency. Thanks for what you do! 🍻
They completely failing since month to maintain the Game, do Balance and refresh the old things. And every Month they wait its getting worse to keep up. Ork Rework takes no over 7 Month its ridiculous how they screw up. Super sad to see this Game going down like this... i really enjoy it because of my Guild i am since almost 2 Years. Without them i would be gone long Time ago.
First, if money is an issue for any gameplay additions, IMHO, they should upgrade the battle pass to entice players to buy it each month. I don't know how many battle passes are needed to sustain this game, but I feel like we can get pretty close by making the battle pass a better investment (think of it as your monthly "membership" to play the game). Once income is secured, then SP should put in campaigns and character events: * Campaigns - At least once a year. Doesn't even have to be a new faction. Also, as other comments have pointed out, just make the campaigns level gated on the first run to prevent veteran players from steamrolling it if its a problem. * Character Events - Its in my opinion we should have consistent, weekly character events/quests made for shards. The monthly character quest, as we see it now, doesn't cut it. It's been years since I could actually unlock a character in the character quests; it should go back to this. Additionally, we could have grind-able character events on specific campaign tiles for a set amount of time. I don't suppose this would be hard to implement, and would allow much more flexability for providing players access to shards. Either way this was to change, new players are getting walled so hard its unfun. Not to mention the amount of requisitions hasn't gone up much. How can you expect a new player to keep up when most of the roster of characters is locked behind requisitions?
Yeah, they should make a Tau vs Tyranids campaign. Xenos are disadvantaged in that you can't use them in campaigns unless they are the exact faction, whereas for Imperial and Chaos you can have any character from any of their factions. With a Tau campaign and Tyranids as mirror, that'd be all Xenos able to be fielded in a campaign.
Baal campaign seems to have a good chance. Last battle passes were Tyranids so many players have access to now. Blood Angels coming out would be the grindables and it would explain why there has been such a long gap, as Snowprint tries to synchronize their releases with what GW does.
with the character bloat i can not see them not making more campaigns and just having events. we also see more and more different material needed to upgrade characters and we get those in campaigns. but yes the campaigns are trivial to advanced players, but they are necessary to newer players. personally i enjoy the campaigns and the PvE things in the game, it it ends up being just another PvP game i will stop playing.
I actually just told my guild that I’m planning to bow out soon so they should start to recruit a replacement. The economy of the game is a joke. The anniversary rewards are pathetic even in the purchase packs. I’m level 52 and I can’t level any toons higher because the lack of tomes. I’m stuck right now taking the last 10 bronze toons to silver and for what? I don’t use them. The incursions I did the first go around but not the second because my mow is useless. I just think for me it’s time unless there’s significant changes and I know many people in the past year that said the same but quit waiting and left already. It’s a shame, it’s a fun game. But the pay to play is too expensive for not enough return.
Too many characters are ungrindable and the ones that are... take way too long to grind. Roswitha came out almost 2 full years ago and is still not grindable.
The biggest problem seems to be that the target is moving farther away. There is no way they will be able to release campaigns fast enough to keep up with the new character releases. The req pool keeps getting diluted as well so how are people supposed to catch up?
I expect a new campaign to be released after SHME is done. Hopefully Devastation of Baal which coincidentally would be right after the 3 HRE of the BA.
Snowprint need to keep making campaigns for the new/ unfarmable characters and spots for new unique faction upgrades. They need to add a setting to replay the campaign text. They need to put something in for the Whales to use their D3 content against each other. Guild Wars may do that. My guild is too under levelled to know. Just because Whales breeze through the campaigns doesn't mean the rest of us should miss out. Afterall alot of us use the monthly base battle pass, loosing us to the grind and absence of point will leave the whales nobody to measure against.
Here is hoping they don't fk up this up coming req rework else u will see more player bitching and probably leaving. And most new players will just end up not staying because if they join now and wants WE nids admech ect. they are all fresh out of luck.
With Tyranids still incomplete and Blood Angels just starting their release, I would like to and could see there being a Devastation of Baal campaign between these two factions, as it occurred in the same rough time period as the other campaigns (I think as far as time can be judged between distant systems, chronologically after them) and it'd be a perfect way for tyranids to get a legendary character introduced, as well as having a key storyline place for the Death Company. And with three Blood Angels yet to be announced, there's plenty of options to go with. Dante is the Legendary character that would be expected, especially with Calgar and Azrael represented then Blood Angel fans would be livid if he were absent. But with a last Dark Angel to come as well, and no legendary so far, it's possible we could see three named characters for each faction - Belial could well be a legendary, even if Azrael isn't, as he is arguably a bigger force individually in battle, and another terminator character would fit with the lore of the Dark Angels. I'd like to see him as a Calgar-style buffer and damage dealer, even if he only buffs Dark Angels as they tend to be insular. The Templars and Ultramarines do only have two named characters each, but they also both have a legendary character which the Dark Angels are missing. I would guess if three named characters appear then we would see a Death Company Chaplain like Lemartes released, potentially as another summoner who brings Death Company marines with him, but as they already have a summoner in the faction and because he's much much cooler I'd rather see Astaroth make an appearance, with an aura effect that should affect allied Blood Angels and/or nearby enemies. And an epic single hit axe attack. The Death Company could alternatively be represented with an unknown Death Company marine, that would likely borrow from the World Eaters style skills, maybe with an aura effect affects nearby Blood Angels that is greater the lower his/their health. Mephiston, Mataneo, almost certainly Dante and a Death Company character known or otherwise leaves one spot and I'd expect to see a member of the Sanguinary Guard in the final slot, with their stupid shiny shiny armour and jump packs with pretend wings. Despite both Dante and Astaroth/Lemartes having jump packs (assuming they appear) and Mataneo's jump pack already known, 3 or 4 of the Blood Angels having jump packs would fit with the Blood Angels (especially recent) lore in the same way two terminator characters would be an appropriate representation of the Dark Angels based on their lore, in the same way having three of the four using plasma damage is appropriate (though I'm hoping the Ravenwing might be represented I think Azraels active will be the extent of the Ravenwing representation, as he could've had any active skill and summoning a watcher in the dark to absorb damage for a turn/until dead would be much more relevant than calling in a Ravenwing airstrike 😢) I hate the sanguinary guard, with their sculpted muscles that they do not have, but if they do make an appearance then I'd like to see a complete opposite skill set to the rest of the Blood Angels, still a solid melee hitter but given their role in the chapter and the general lack of defensive characters in the game so far I think it would be cool to see them have a bodyguard dynamic in their skills, almost something like Celestine's Geminae but a controllable character who absorbs damage, or switches places with an adjacent character to take the hit similar to Mephiston's active. Could even count as a charge attack from the guard, if the attack is melee and he is protecting a fellow Blood Angel, so combining defence and attack like the bodyguards of any chapter would do. Well this went way beyond the comment I intended to make and the on a tangent from the speculations/observations in the video, but once I started speculating on the campaign that led me to wonder about the remaining characters for both incomplete chapters and here we are.....
Wow that is a comment dude lol and all are valid points they have some great factions to be able to make some amazing lore campaigns just hope they do and agree Dante has got to one of the future characters I think everyone would be disappointed if not but thanks for your thoughts 😀
Slinky I think your idea of Incursion for characters could be a great option. Surely it is easier on the dev team to tackle that compared to creating new campaigns by many factors?
I legit need them to drop real authentic campaigns! We need a minimum of three more to drop but they also should consider making the difficulty a bit harder to making take longer to progress through!
You forgot the death guard and most of the sisters of battle. But yeah its really annoying as this game should be based around the campaigns with this other money making events being every few days it feels
If it weren't for the campaigns, I wouldn't have upgraded some of my factions. Orks for example, I upgraded them so I could get the elite campaign only 100% items for my Black Templars.
I honestly thought when I started playing that this game that it would be more campaign driven the base campaigns were waaay to easy to complete and the elites were really way hard wasn't much of an in between I really think they missed an opportunity on doing the burning of prospero wolves vs ksons and done something different with the aeldari perhaps vs Tau to bring balance and allow farming of all factions
I think it is sad that it appears we are not getting more campaigns and even if they are shallow, non voiced and felt a bit random, more stories. then again sadly the „story“ part is only playable once. would love to be able to replay the story parts every now and then. why not put a toggle for that in the options menu? The incursion events were quite a bit of a disapointment. Reusing the identical map and opponents just with more damage and hit points was a true lowpoint, don’t you think? on top it appears the maps are getting smaller and therefore less options to actually do a tiny bit of Srategy/tactics (hint look at the name odf the game). the number of ungrindable characters is growing and that is not acceptable For not getting something out of buildiong campaigns… sorry that is not a valid argument. the way they designed the ressource economy people still would be pushed/enticed to invest money into their toons, maybe not directly for shards, but Orbs and XP, tomes are rare as fuck. and for certain faction (imps) even badhes become a hot commodity…
They add BAs and we had a lot of Nid BPasses... MAYBE Devastation Ball is comming? I realy hope so, but must say i doubt it is. Stillz i really hope we can get more campains, as they add always a fresh new things to play with, especially new enemy npc's. AND they got one NPC for BA already.... so maybe... and Nids have 4... so maybe there is some hope?
I believe the campaign format will change, and also, the PVP scene will come into light, TA will no longer be an event that comes and leaves, but will come to stay, a game without PVP always dies, SP knows that
@@seangrady1195 everything is susceptible to change, the game in its current format will eventually die out because everything will become boring after a while, so change is inevitable
its not about what they can squeeze most money out of, its for keeping the game alive. they are so damn greedy. this aniversary proved that. pushed many updates that we were waiting for and what we got was a 15 days of shit deals and nothing more. campaigns are needed for farming nodes, for grinding characters, for Requisidion aquisitions. elite campaigns had legendary books on 2 starring. these kind of things are needed. but they want us just to buy everything. campaigns are needed for us to have direction for building teams. they are NOT finished fast. how long did it take you to finish Octarius elite? or fall of cadia elite? or indomitus mirror elite? these were hard campaigns that needed months to complete. about 10 months. they are just LYING. they want easy money that is all. and were are not COWS we are players. if you remove playable part from your game and leave just purchases, what would i purchace anything for? for Mortarion?
It is a mobile game. We will only get what is profitable for them, & they will abandon Tacticus when that is no longer true. Seriously, 16aud for a mobile 30 day battlepass!
Snowprint is becoming GW, plain and simple. I bet GW is trying to slowly convince them that they should go full subscription to squeeze more money out of whales and long timers who really enjoy the game.
I think this is just a simple way to make people buy more Blackstone for requisitions. If campaigns are hard to make, and not as lucrative, then why bother?
I get where you are coming from. I come from a very respectable guild and it just feels like another job at this point. Taking time away for bit is very much understandable. Hoping more campaigns are released in time.
