Iron warriors do not even seems to love it. They very bitterly do it. Their true love is building and making machines.

As said before, the fists love wartime construction. The iron prefer general construction and innovation. That's why Rogal was big E's go-to for building fortifications. Not because he was better at building, but because it was his and his sons' preferred specialty. The Iron Warriors couldn't avoid the warfront, though. And the only option left in their skill category was siege construction. So that's what they did. A better use of their skills would have been working with the Ultramarines to build proper infrastructure and civilization across the expanding imperium. However, Big E was never the one for that type of thinking. The Primarch's mother was the one who mainly thought that way, more long term organization and stable. Everything would have been a lot better for the imperium if she waited 2-3 years and talked things out with Big E about her opinions and issues with how he was doing things, instead of selling their children to the chaos gods and ruining humanity's development cycle.

...considering she once one-shot a fully armoured World Eater with a FREAKING LAS PISTOL, I'd be scared too.

As far as I know theyr powers affect reality itself wich also includes things that are not them or theyr tech. Of course it's the moast effective with themselfs bevause well....it's what they see. But as far as lore goes I belive if enough Okrs belive that he is a fellow Ork he should literally become one. Or at least that is how I understand theyr powers to work. Just think of it this way you mentioned theyr tech but it is not actually theyr tech but put togheter parts of tech of theyr oponents wich also shows that they can use theyr powers on the oponents tech. Furthermore if theyr powers only would work on them how come that they than don't just dominate evry single battlefield they go to? And finally they allways belive theyr oponents are strong because a fight with a weak oponent isn't fun and sinve they belive it so it happens. I know the last point is a bit weak but Lorewise I think that is how it is explainghned.

But the machines and the laws of their universe like Yarrick normal laser eye became a weapon of mass destruction because the Orcs believed it or how they see blue as a lucky colour so the Space Marines are somehow winning despite all odds.
