In my opinion, it should no longer be about these individual “changes”. It's more about the fact that we have companies that are willing to lie, deceive and mess with their customers just to fit a current, politically motivated narrative. It's just disgusting how everything we knew and liked is simply trampled into the dirt and anyone who doesn't want to accept that is portrayed as "toxic" and worse... This is a dark time we live in, and it's not really about a particular game or film, but we're now seeing this destructive behavior everywhere in the entertainment industry. This plague spreads like a virus and destroys everything that comes into contact with it. In the end everyone loses, the real fans and everyone who might have wanted to become one. And those responsible move on like locusts and destroy the next franchise.

Ah Grummz, you said everything the community was thinking. I had the same dam thought. The Sisters of Silence literally work in the Imperial Palace with the Custodians, the Sisters are literally walking talking anti magic beacons effectively blocking any supernatural powers or entities from ever entering the Imperial Palace.
They banned me on their twitter for posting 3d printers from amazon. Bro a 14k (that's right 14k) printer costs 800$. That's less than it costs for a Titan model kit. You can print one titan and get your money's worth. The 14k printers are as good as the injection molds from GW, lots of inexpensive print files are ready to go.
Do not forget that the printer is $800, then a cleaner for $200, another $200 in supporting accessories like cleaning supplies, gloves, a respirator to keep your lungs safe, a hot tent to keep your printer warm in the cold months. Then there's Resin and IPA. But still, it's cheaper than buying from GW and it is really satisfying and fun.
I'm planning on buying my own 3d printer to create my own non Woke models to print my own non Woke codexes and to print my own battlefield maps to keep the franchise alive and let GW go out of business. Any objections?
Something GW should consider: They are not Disney. They do not have nearly as much money to burn. Their customer service is *DOGSHIT* both in marketing and in software applications. They lock a great deal of their IP not just behind a pay wall, but one that requires they give specific privileges to a customer they deem worthy of their attention, and Warhammer 40k makes up a substantial portion of their revenue. Guarantee, they commit to going woke, they will sell off their ruined company in portions or lose everything. How do we know? Because we’ve seen it happen to Rooster Teeth, comicbook writers, we’re watching it happen to Disney. Budlight’s stocks are at an all time low. CNN has little to no viewers now. Journalists are being fired at a pace comparable to the number of psykers sacrificed to the golden throne. The woke burn pit is deep and more prodigal companies are tossed in every day. Not really. Their biggest consumers only care about model kits and playing the game; they have long since given up caring about the lore. The Primaris Marines broke the lore back in 2017, and yet the sales kept going up and up. It's the other way around. Marvel and SW fans are more than happy to tell Disney to get screwed. GW's consumers will stick by them until the end because only the loud ones who haven't played the game in a long while give a crap about the lore.
GW is even particularly stupid for messing with its customers... You can't print out beer and razor blades at home - but you can print out a codex or plastic figures. The people who actually give their money to GW to buy their products are doing so to support the company, even though they don't have to in order to continue their hobby. To then mess with these loyal customers... that's really stupid. And for what? To kiss Blackrock and Vanguard's asses? Pathetic.

Yes it does. It’s by Amazon. There won’t be a choice for it not to be. He will keep it as close to the lore as he can but if you think for one moment there won’t be extra time or heroism given to the female characters in the show you haven’t been paying attention. It’s sad I know I’m praying the TV show will be watchable but for the last 5-8 years now everything produced is infected with real world politically driven narratives and agendas that must be pushed. Look at the track record of every male role model in pop culture or gaming. There’s a reason they are remaking all these movies and cartoons from 25-35 years ago or buying out gaming studios and gender swapping characters… it’s to reshape the narrative and the ideas people live their life by, the things we pass on to our children and unfortunately the ones we all grew up with like male role models, strength, heroism, self sacrifice and bravery don’t meet the agenda they want for now and the future. I wish Henry good luck… I hope he does us proud but I’d love to know how much he ends up having to compromise in order to bring warhammer to live action.

They do avoid it in terms of being "forced" to do anything. The people talking about ESG are idiots who know nothing about literally anything and are repeating meme sheeple NPC BS. GW barely care about DEI. They have gone largely woke though but this is entirely down to the staff and company itself. Nothing to do with ESG etc. They chose this path freely.

@@addie30mg62 I imagined there are, my argument is more towards the introduction of female versions of brute/grunt warrior type characters like listed. Its a natural opposite of character design that you run into when needing to do forced gender inclusion with your characters. making it more feminine makes it more elegant, making it more brutal, makes it lose the feminine. A female variant fundamentally has to become a less intense version of that archetype. So when people see such a character, in this political climate its often much easiert to pretend that they don't rather than try to explain it like I tried.
Many Warhammer fans have been vocal about female space marines being the line in the sand they would not accept being crossed when Warhammer started going woke, they said they woul cut support if that line was crossed and Games Workshop crossed it.
Unfortunately, these investment companies have more money than a Saudi oil prince. They can have a chain of failures 30 years long and they'll barely be feeling then. I won't be around then, unfortunately.

This is super fertile ground for creative types that are not on the side that destroyed everything. People are starving for games, movies and books with strong male, beautiful feminine female in age old stories that are relatable. Just need a few to break through then all the lemmings will follow suit and we will have a huge selection again.
I’ve been in the hobby since 1996. I’ve seen GW at there worst and best, and this is a new low lore wise and the way long time fans are being treated. I’ve spent thousands of pounds over all because I loved the product. No more, the wife has just gone halves on a 3d printer which I can print amazing models for cheaper. I’m just done.
They did the Sisters of Silence dirty…. I read the Watchers of the Thrown novels and I gotta say, Sister of Silence need some love. And they don’t even ask much as a faction since they are blanks and have to speak in code. I’d pick SoS than Femstodes.

They could've just continue the story instead of changing the Past that justifies inclusion. Like the Soviet Union in WW2 for example,originally their military is just for only for men until they're running out of it,later Nazi Germany (known for strict Racial Policies) adopted that custom which also included Elderlys,Handicapped,obessed & young children but not for sake of Diversity but out of Desperation for manpower shortages.
In addition. Being heavily genetically augmented It would be simple to justify women among Custodes cause they can modify them as so augmented that they can be on par with men. Even a player of 40k like me can write a better way to introduce females in Custodes
@@riblo72 That is impossible. According to the lore, most men can't become Space Marines. They die during the process. Only about 1% of those that are even selected survive the process, the rest is simply too weak. There is no way to make a female "on par with a Space Marine" as it is not even possible to make a big strong man into a Space Marine in most cases. And Custodes are even bigger and stronger, more selectively bred and more augmented than average Space Marines. Maybe about 0.1% of selected male stock will survive that process.

This Is because the Custodes are selected from the children of the nobles of Terra. Their lives are so valuable and they are so few that the Imperium doesn't want to wast their lives

Well, the Custodes were never really much in focus before now. It is hardly the same as ( non-mutant ) female Space Marines, say, or ( non-mutant ) Adeptus Astartes with sex lives, for that matter.

You know what's ironic? By doing this they will lose those clients that spend hundreds (or even thousands) to either collect the squads, make their favourite army, or simply meta chasers. And all this... To pander for an audience that most likely will never buy anything from them.
Speculation is that Amazon pushed Games Workshop into this. Everyone knows that Henry Cavill is a 40k lover, and that he specifically plays Custodes on the table top. This is, if anything, starting to look more like a direct kick at Cavill than anything else...
Let's be real. Men love tall women. Lady Dimitrescu caused an absolute tidal wave of simping and content on r34. Female Custodes are basically dreams come true for these people, and if anything Warhammer needs to take it further. Make them like sisters of battle, but ^10. Dual-wielding chainsaw great-swords for everyone. Give those Khone Berserkers a wife in golden armour. As for lore puritans I do feel bad for you, but let's face it Warhammer has been doing retcons forever and I don't think anything will ever match the sudden introduction of Primaris space marines.
I am quite new to WH40K, since I heard that Hennr Cavill will leave The Witcher for this, and since I bought couple of games from the universe - I feel the pain of this betrayal. But it's nothing in comparison to fans that know the lore and buy figurines: I salute you! Be strong and just wait for this moment when you won't feel anything when you hear about this franchise, because it'll be like a blessing!

This is because 40K's real consumers don't give a rat's ass about the lore. They knew they could get away with it, because the people who buy their plastic crack in bulk didn't care when the Primaris Marines broke the lore, so Fem Custodes breaking the lore won't matter either. People in my hobby club who looked at me with surprise three years ago when I bought a 3D printer bought their own printers this week. People who told me about the need to support miniature creators are now changing their minds. If this isn't a sign of changes for the worse for GW, I don't know what is. The truth is that there is no way for GW to win here. Producers of other games are already waiting for new, former GW customers. And most importantly - everything that players have bought so far - belongs to them. And they will do with it whatever they like. They can continue to play in the 40k universe using the battle systems from other creators (for example One Page Rules). Or play the older 40k versions, which were much better than the current one anyway. In other words - This is not the video game industry - the game creator cannot simply shut down the server and take away everything we spent our free time on so far. Players will keep playing. Hobby will win cause We are the hobby not the stupid company.
GW had the genius idea of pandering to a minority which fundamentally hates the universe and setting because it completely goes against their cult, I can't how that could end badly..
What is hilarious about this is that like two months ago the made a female Bretonnian knight in the old world (Which is Warhammer but a fantasy setting) Before this, only men were allowed to be knights. I think what hurts the most is the blatant like that the official channel delivered to us. Like, its not the fact that its a woman. There are plenty of women in 40k who are badass. Some lead armies of men and women... Once we start getting female space marines what then would be the point of the Sisters of battle? Lastly. why would they start taking in consideration to change warhammer/40k to appease the people who will never play it? If you couldn't get into warhammer because there were no female space marines or Custodes then it is clear you lack the ability to actually appreciate the game and the lore.
I'd love to know what GW thinks a win here looks like. Crushing the people who pay for their games and driving them away is winning the battle, but losing the war. If I was a shareholder, I'd be going berserk.
