So. The custodians actually DID run around basically naked. In early editions, after big E plopped down on the golden throne, his custodians got super depressed, refused to leave the imperial palace, and refused to touch their war gear our of shame. TTS didn't make it up, that (was) totally canon.
@@akumaking1 My theory was GW started changing stuff specifically to differentiate real canon from the most popular fan work at the time. The first thing they did was retcon the Guilliman's lifesupport thing. Though I appreciate that ressurrecting Guilliman actually did involve cutting off his life support, like Emps ordered. I don't know of anyone being forced. But a lawyer GW has on retainer might've chimed in and said "hey, there's an unoffical group doing more transformative work on your IP than you are, maybe get ahead of the curve before they have a legal claim to an IP they never licensed."
@@AzelasFromHyrule its one lf those grey areas that if you change enough of the original work it can be claimed that its a separate work from the original.
honestly this ice berg has made me realize im much more of a lore nerd than i thought i was, i always thought everything i knew was kinda mostly surface level
Me too, and I knew he was gonna mention neckbeards luckily I however don't fill any of this traits, cause all I care about is the lore for the most part, but my hair could use some work
You mean there is an entire Xenos race of weird ass snails that loves war and would go out of their way to do cool stuff during a war and not only there is no story of the fighting the Orks ad infinitum but we don't have a whole faction based around losing in style?
3:26 Teeth. Orks plaster the hulls of their ships with totems, runes and metal "teeth" to scare off warp entities. That being said, they don't really need to, since warptravel is always good for a laugh.
The Pillarstodes were a reference to old lore about how Custodes swore off their gold armour in mourning of their failure in preventing the Emperor from, y'know. So for the longest time, Custodes meant these buff guys in the Imperial Palace wearing black cloaks and leather thongs.
On the cog whisperer thing In the book trilogy that I don't remember the name of, but the first book is Priests of Mars, there is a character that is a menial on an Ark Mechanicus, and at a few points he unintentionally does what is essentially miracles. My best remembered one is a point where he fires a broken plasma pistol with neither ammunition or a power cell, something that is made very clear should have been impossible. It's also revealed that there is an entire order within the Adeptus Mechanicus dedicated to finding people like this menial, who can just perform miraculous things with machines.
One thing about the khan’s disappearance is that he might actually have been taken by the laughing god. Because the dhrukari have not mentioned or are not currently fighting against the khan it means that he is somewhere else probably in the web way. Source for this info, idk.
Bit disappointed with your cop-out over the Ian Watson novels. Sure, the Inquisitor Trilogy is the product of a VERY loose brief and a man having a mental health crisis, but you REALLY should read Space Marine, given your love of Marines and lack of experience around the old Rogue Trader stuff. I genuinely think you'd get a kick out of comparing and contrasting the journey from recruit to Marine Veteran back then as compared to now.
@@mr.ashenfire2624 Okay just for you. So if you remember the weird shit involving Rogue Trader, you can probably blame alot of it on Ian Watson, and i'm talking about REALLY weird shit. For example, Ian Watson is the one who wrote that the Imperial Fists spread shit on their food in order to test their super digestive system or whatever (Correct me if i'm wrong on this one), he wrote a tentacle rape scene on a Callidus Assassin, a description of another Callidus Assassin named "Mother Gullet" who vore-d a child (I WISH I WAS FUCKING JOKING) of a noble in order to have some leverage against them, weirdly sexual dialogue for almost half a 40k novel, aswell as just really mid writing. I have seen or heard nothing on the novel "Space Marine" that he wrote, but the writing style for "Inquisitor" was just terrible, and I can see why it was his last novel for GW.
I kinda like how funky the Inquisitor Trilogy is. It makes me questions what the fuck did I read and make me read the whole trilogy, twice. Feels like a fever dream
I read through a decent amount of the iceberg and I’ve actually recognized quite a few, but I also realize it’s a bit outdated and the lower parts are more on old theories
Rip tts, and i hope ian wattson never is able to type on a keyboard or use any writing utensil to write books again. i swear he's more demented than people care to admit.
Idea: Vashtorr has been influencing the Cawl Inferior, monitoring Cawl and Guillimen's conversations, and at some point is going to possess the Inferior to surprise sneak attack Guillimen
Wait a mo, have we had the identity of the machine spirit yet? - naughty Dragon, don't be Chaos, be a good boi like Daddy mech wants you to be. Also, have we had the whole anti corruption thing of the Dark Angels... ya, you're not brainwashing these dudes, they're already hardcoded.
I like the idea of all the primarchs returning, but rather than consolidate in the Imperium they splinter the remainder of humanity into factions to further drive home the struggle of the setting without giving Chaos or xenos too much of an upper hand.
I want to see another Imperium Civil War with different Primarchs in their own domains carved up and fighting with each other because of countless reasons
I am not one to insert corrections, but this one involves the death of baribus dantioch and the sadness of his bestest friend Alexis polux, the only book in 40k to actually make me shed tears. The device was on Sotha, but it's not called the sotha device. It's called the Pharos Device. Ugh I had to shake off that gross feeling of correcting someone who is doing an awesome job. Sorry about that bones
@SeanCrosser true. I just want to distinguish myself from that whole culture of people who watch these videos with the purpose of correcting lore content creators. Lol I find that to be annoying. And I have become fond of Mr bones here. He does tend to acknowledge his own errors, and I find that endearing. That said, it's the pharos device and my dude dantioch died there and broke my heart
There was a wacky theory bouncing around, circa Third Edition, that the Tyranids were created by a C’tan known as the Outsider. The Outsider was driven out of the galaxy by the other C’tan at around the close of the War in Heaven, and the Outsider developed the Tyranid Hive Mind and loosed them on the galaxy as his revenge. Just like the Necons were the perfect weapons, so were the Tyranids. All of this is massively outdated now, but it was a personal favorite theory of mine back in those days.
the only thing i read with doombreed in was in the 3rd ahriman book, where ctesias -a thousand son sorcerer- unleashes him against a daemon possessed warlord titan
The Sanguinor is Azkaellon, founder of the Sanguinary Guard, this has been known for years, it should be way higher up the iceberg like tier 2 or something, his identity isn't a secret, Azkaellon is likely the same kinda being as Celestine now seeing as there seems to be a whole "Emperor's Realm" in some little pocket of the Warp now and Imperial Demons if you wanna use that name are basically all but confirmed to exist Also if Genghis Khan became a Demon Prince but yet Be'lakor exists and is said to be the first of ALL demon princes is there any speculation on who his human identity could be like someone even older and possibly more evil than Genghis?
This shouldn't spoil anything for Genefather because this is stuff we kinda already knew about Cawl, but warning none the less There is a part in Genefather when call talks to his Cawl inferior about the message from Guileman. The last part of the message was big g asking Cawl to stop requesting to be fabricator general, as in he thinks Cawls been constantly spending a request alongside any reports he'd sent already. Cawl denied wanting it and so did he side of cawl inferior
21:00 in the book Titandeath (towards end of the HH series and into SoT) There is an Archmagos i believe that serves as the interpreter, I can't remember if they use the term cog-whisperer but, the interpreter for the machine spirit of titans. It does point out that his whole figure has spider like feet that end in rounded tips lined with rubber so as to make absolutely no disturbance so he doesn't miss the most minute or small detail in the titans' "demeanor". jus thought it was cool
yeah... no. the warp god theory would've had the chaos gods eat the primarchs in the gestation pods to directly fight the emperor instead of manipulating them. Especially since they're more interested in "the great game" and turning 40k into a farm for the emotions they feed on then anything else.
Cawl. Is. The. Omnissiah! I will accept no evidence to the contrary. (He also DEFINITELY made female space marines. He had 10,000 years and he gets bored a lot!)
Now we are starting. My fav theories are: Tau are Necrontir, Sanguinius killed Horus and messed up Emprah, Sigmar is a lost primarch and god Emprah is in fact Void Dragon. Anyway, keep it up man.
I started to get a bit confused on parts you were talking about on this one. But it would be interesting to see more human historical figures as Demon Princes.
I had to take a break from it, because the parts were getting pretty intense to work on! there was so much research to do that I actually had to take a break so I didn't fall behind on other work! They will be coming out!!! I'm planning on releasing the whole 5 parts as a single video someday (hopefully) this month!
Hey I’m a loyal subscriber I enjoy your videos but this one was a bit confusing wish you would take a little bit more time to explain in certain instances before to the next thing
