Really plays into the Necrons being what a decent number of Mechanicus wish they were: truly immortal machines. I've always loved that dynamic of decent portions of the Mechanicus outright envying the Necrons while the Necrons laugh at the foolish upstarts who are meddling with things they are unqualified to handle.
3:23 this dragon is actually a chaos space marine war engine, fittingly called Helldrake. The vast majority of chaos space marines dont have access to a forgeworld of the mechanicus, so they have to be creative on how to get more heavy weapons. The Helldrake is a war engine shaped like a dragon and powered by a demon stuffed inside of it. Iron warriors engineering at it's best
Really? I though the lord behind helldrakes was that it was once a jet and the pilot fused with it because of warp shenanigans. I’ve never heard of it being a demon trapped in a machine. Isn’t that a forge fiend ?
They do make deals with the Dark Mechanicum (True Mechanicum) for weapons and there are captured Imperial Forge worlds but yes Warp fuckery and daemons do mess up their tech.
Honestly, the reveal of Mechanicus 2 just serves to remind me that the reason I love this franchise so much is that every side has a story to tell. Just because you’re the villains from the perspective of humanity doesn’t mean that WH40K will pretend you don’t have a reason for butting heads with us. Every side has desires, fears, passions, and goals. And this franchise is broad enough that it allows every side to tell their story, no matter how villainous they are.
I can agree with that. Doing evil for evil's sake is fine and all, but a lot of good villains have a reason that you can understand and maybe even relate to. There's so many different factions with different ideals in 40k that I'm sure there's something for everyone here.
Seeing this revealed made me start my 2nd play through. My first play through I had each tech-priest focus one path on particular before moving to a second one. This time, I turned up difficulty a little bit and built the best priests I can. Have one explorator focus, and everyone else is a combo of either Dominus+Tech aux, Dominus+Lexmechanic, and one secutor+dominus. Turns out, the medic path (don’t remember name) is useless when Tex aux can give free uses of a canticle that heals all and damage AND fills cognition gauge.
18:15 all jokes aside, horus heresy legions is a pretty solid card game with cool art and flavorful features with specific gameplay mechanics that are in-character with the faction you’re using. Not to mention there are hidden gems of great voice acting as well for some of the warlords!
So I'm guessing we'll have Necron Lords taking the place of Tech Priests as the characters you actually level up while everything else is a troop. Given that one of their generic characters on tabletop is a Reanimator who supercharges Reanimation protocols in order to heal troops, I suspect that could be the "Medic" type class to mirror the Enginseer. Also I'm hoping that Necrons will have Scarab Swarms as their starting troop option because I love those little guys.
I think after the Space Marine 2 Trailer dropped in the Stream they announced the only stuff you can pay for are cosmetic dlcs. No other Micro Transactions in it thus far.
Just a note with Space Marine 2, you're a primaris marine which kind of have their own wargear and for some reason first born and Primaris refuse to mix tech. But basically Primaris are better than first born in every way (expect combat experience for a lot of them) but they don't get Terminator armor. 2:25 the guy with the heavy bolter is in Gravis armor which is as heavy as they get as far as I know. Also in Deathwing you're fighting Genestealers which by themselves are very elite units. The common nid is a gaunt which is so weak the average guardsman should have no trouble killing one. To put it in Vermintide terms, Genestealers are like those Gutter Runner. The Skaven assassins. You would really lump them in with the run of the mill Skaven fighter as a threat. Most space marines wouldn't have a problem which most nids until you get up to what substitutes as vehicles for them or other commander or elite units like Warriors or previously mentioned Genestealers. But then again, the point is to swarm ppl so nids are not really relying on 1 single unit to get anything done typically. Plus, the main character is an ex-captain and power scaling with space marines, especially Ultramarines is all over the place. Which is what causes some of the hate around them. The Mary Sueism that chapter suffers from can be really trying......Looking at you Knights of Macragge....stupid book. But still they can be fun and have some good lore.
@@Ultrama-ri7pz It's in a weird in-between spot. Whole story is Primaris use new fancy Mark X power armor is modular. So it can be configured into a normal, scout, or heavy configuration which is called Tacticus, Phobos, and Gravis respectively. Thing with Gravis is it's way more versatile than Tactical Dreadnought armor. Like the jump pack in this trailer is using Gravis armor. It's also used on heavy weapon squads (which is more segregated in primaris ranks). However, you don't get that ability to shrug off just about any type of ordinance. Like Terminators have taken plasma cannon shots and kept going pretty consistently in the books, Gravis, that's nowhere near as sure a thing. It's kind of a misconception Terminators are slow, they're not, their clumsy but if they get going the can seriously move. Al least in most books I read. But Gravis is always described as being more cumbersome than any normal type of power armor but still light enough you can strap a jump pack to it and fly around. Or rundown someone if you need. But with Primaris kit, yeah they kind of explain it by saying first born just been using their stuff so long they don't want to change and the same for primaris but really it's to sell models. It makes little sense in universe. Like the Bolt Rifle compared to the Bolt Gun just has flat out better range and damage. Not enough to matter in table top but it's stated equivalent equipment on the primaris side is just flat out better. So heavy bolt pistols, bolt storm gauntlets ect. really should be passed around to everyone and primaris should have terminator armor but not a single one has put it on and there are no rules for it as far as I know.
@@dagonofthedepths They at least started to try and walk back on the whole "Primaris are just better" on the tabletop and in some of the recent lore because of both the early fan backlash and because....they don't know how to do anything interesting with Primaris Marines in the books outside of like, one character in the Plague Wars series who's a Primaris Marine assigned to the Nova Marines. They even backtracked on the whole "Primaris Marines all had their geneseed flaws fixed". Now it's just "Welp, Cawl thought he fixed things like the Black Rage, but it turns out it was just waiting until they joined the existing chapters to show up".
I believe in SM2 you play as a primaries marines. Basically just bigger, tougher versions of space marines. I think lol Also, don't sleep on RT. Owlcat games are all amazing rpgs. Wrath of The Righteous is still my all time favorite crpg, even after BG3, just because of how amazing the rp is with the mythic class fantasy of your character becoming a lich, or a demon, or an angel, ect ect... highly recommend it and Rouge Trader
For me, I'm just not a fan of those "you can just cast this Spell X times every day" mechanic. Also a reason for me why BG3 never catched me. Rogue Trader does not have such a system, which is way better in my opinion. There are still instances, where using psychic power is almost imposible because of high danger of the warp from the start at some Battles (this System is still much better for Me). On the other hand, Rogue Trade can be overwhelming and lacks a lot of quality of life features and has a big focus on battles.
@@sagittariusa9012 in WoTR with mythic progression you can unlock a lot more spell slots as well as making them last for 24hrs. Abundant casting and enduring spells mythic lines are a must have for any full spell casters. You can literally buff your entire party (plus pets) with op buffs that would normally only last for a few rounds, but now last 24hrs. It's amazing.
While Space Marine 2 has a lot of potential, it also has several tiers of releases with an increasing amount of content ranging from $60 to $100, a season pass and the ability to play on the actual release date instead of four days later, and cosmetic microtransactions of an undefined nature (but it'll likely be for multiplayer). So hold your horses for now.
The fire breathing dragon is a Helldrake, basically a chaos space marine aerial support, a war engine with its pilot meged within it. Incredibly cool miniature, but the f*cker fights you every single stage of the process: a metric ton of trims to paint and it stabs you with its countless spikes no matter how you try to grab it.
I don't recommend trying the Inquisitor. This is a Diabloid, which, for the sake of one line of dialogue, asks you to personally kill a couple of legions of traitorous Astartes and a small army of Tyranids. It's fun for the first 2-3 hours, then it gets boring because nothing new happens. I bought it at a discount and still regret the money I spent. No mysteries, important decisions, investigations or intrigues. You came to the location, killed everything that moved, completed a task like bombing a bunker, getting samples or killing the main demon, received armor that was worse than the existing one as a reward, returned to the ship, listened to the dialogue (optional), and repeated. This is the whole game.
In most ARPG's like Diablo the interesting part always starts in the "endgame" and that also includes Inquisitor Martyr. That is even the moment when the "real" game starts for most ARPG's. But Diablo also have somewhat good Story/Campaign which makes the entry more enjoyable while Inquisitor Martyr has pretty much no Story.
