A clarification for the army boxes. Yes, they do come with rules for playing THAT army. So, you can play straight out of the box with that specific army against the Bretonnian one for example
I am excited because this is THE game that got me into miniature wargaming properly. I'm also hoping some friends come and join me on this adventure so I have someone to play in a casual format!
Tournament play decides casual play. Not spending $500+ on friendly games where you're only playing because your opponent is letting you use rules without changes since release. And let's be real - GW don't play test their games. So they're going to be broken. @@BecauseOfDragons
@@kdhlkjhdlk if tournaments are that important, then this is likely not the game for you. It might sound harsh, but GW likely have good reasons for keeping certain armies as Legends-only for now. All the armies on that Legendary list can already be played as is in AoS. Chaos Dwarfs are the exception, but it's suspected that they'll be headlining the next edition of the game (after teasing and set up in 3rd). GW will probably want to keep a level of separation between AoS and TOW for as long as they can.
Ah awesome - yeah I am in the fence as to whether or not I go High Elves or expand the Dwarf collection. I do hope it's not tooooo long before we see the other factions get folded in.
I might buy the book, having come back to the hobby after old world died. I still really fondly remember 3rd and 4th. But there's no way I'm paying £80 for 8 mounted Squires or 20 pilgrims.
Yeah I can see a lot of folks looking to a LOT of alternative producers to get armies together. There are some great plastic miniatures out there and 3D printable options for people to choose from.
Probably would have been better for them to include everything within the two volumes BUT I don't see the Arcane Journals as being too much of a gouge. They're not needed to actually play your army once you have FoF or RH though. I know people collecting those armies WILL feel like they do need them though which is the kicker of course.
