You played that 2 Glory end phase card correctly. Spawnmaw's attack is range 1 so it counts :)

Also, I believe the rule for spells being cast is that if they are a spell attack action they have to do damage, if they are a card you just need the success.

Great show of game mechanics, finally the figures doing what they are suppose to do! Anyways, I'm asking yt hobbyists if they'd make a word bearer for April with the themes of birds. Also New F.O.W.W. recast in better stuff (hopefully).
