I have some units painted with the new Warlord miniatures sprues from wargames illustrated.
I talk about what I have done to deal with some of the uniform niggles.
it's also my last wargaming video of 2020. So I would like to thank everyone who has supported the channel, and I look forward to doing more next year!!!
Paints used:
Confederates. I undercoated with Corax White Spray.
Contrast for uniforms: Gryph Charager Grey, thats the light grey, Snakebite Leather for the browns and the dark grey is basilicanum grey.
Regular Paints.
XV88 for the rifles, with iron hand steel for the metals.
Light blue trousers i painted over Basilicanum grey, Calgar blue, and highlighted with a touch of fenris grey.
Corvus Black for the blacks.
I used steel legion drab for the beards and hair.
Over the none contrast colours other than blacks, i put Agrax earthshade. This darkens it down, and also blends where 2 colours meet. I also dabbed it in any place my contrast hadn't covered and a spot of white was showing through.
Finally Flesh. I painted the flesh part Wraith Bone, then used Contrast Guilliaman flesh over top.
Union.
Sprayed Corx White.
Top to toe in Ultramarine Blue. My normal method is painting over black. This gave me a dark base to work from, and the jackets were done.
The trousers was calgar and fenris blue. I know people have used Talasaar blue contrast, its too vibrant and otherworldly for my tastes.
Other than that, most things were as above for the confederates.
Blanket rolls i did fenrisian grey, agraxed earthshaded and a touch of highlight.
