Thanks a lot Garry, means a lot to us that the viewer enjoys what we are doing and how we show our hobby. Take care buddy and we look forward to seeing some more of your ACW project 👍😁
I recognise you from the old Triple Helix days. Good to see you've taken up youtube, it eludes me so far. Good review, good book & game, as you say - not too serious just lots of fun.
Hi mate, always nice to hear from a fellow gamer from Triple Helix. We took the plunge to join RU-vid about 14 months ago as an extension to our blog. We are soon shutting down the blog and move forward with our RU-vid channel. Thanks for your support in watching our video and hopefully we have others in the list you may find interesting, I know it’s a cliche but by all meansLike, Share and Subscribe to our channel 👍😁 Thanks for the kind words on our review, yeah definitely a lot of fun. 😁
Thanks Frazer, I think it’s an interesting game that has a lot of potential. I would look forward to see how you would tackle the subject. Take care mate 👍😁
Hi Jason, glad you like our brief review. I just hope I can get the ships to make up Force H, then maybe we will be able to have a game at some point. I’ll put a link to this video on the group page. We will have to catch up soon 👍😁
Thanks Dom, it’s a very nicely put together book with lots of scope to keep players interested. I think they will be a lot of fun to play. Take care mate 👍😁
Thanks for the flick through. I’ll definitely be picking up a copy when my local shop gets it in stock. I’m a veteran of the original game so hoping this will be the same.
you will not be disappointed mate, like you I played the first edition and this version is a bit of a tidy up but fundamentally it’s still the same game. 👍
Hi Peter, thanks for watching and I hope it was useful for you. I think Warlord have done a good job balancing background history along with the rules to play. I think you will enjoy looking through the book once you get it, I’m certainly hoping I can put together Force H to represent a family member who served in that group during the war. Tanks again and take care 😁
Thanks for watching mate. Yeah the book is really nice and has a lot to offer the hobbyist, even I naval wargaming is not your thing. A nice book just to have on the shelf. Take care 👍😁
Can you do RAN ? I know the Perth class exists and HMAS Australia and Canberra, but I want to do the scrap iron flotilla (I'll need a Scott class and 3 V/W class destroyers ) as well
Hi Mathew, thanks for watching. I’m away at the moment, but if my memory serves correctly, the V&W Class destroyers are listed in the book. The scrap iron flotilla sounds really interesting to game on the table 😁👍
Thanks for watching Lucian, it’s a very nice book. I think it’s a very difficult one to answer as we have the luxury of hindsight, but I can certainly see the reasons why the order was given. One being, we didn’t want the very newish French fleet to fall into Vichy France hands, which then means into German hands. It’s a very interesting bit of history that I’ve read about and it’s an interesting read. Take care mate 👍😁
The UK strategy was France handles the Italian navy and UK handles Japan's and Germany's. Probably quite a scare when instead off having the French to guard the Med and the potentially hostile Italian fleet the French where suddenly not even allies and Italy declares war. Churchill did blunders indeed but this was really at the darkest time in shock. Once the Royal navy had time to reavalute they did strike at Taranto gaining ½ year at least. At that a time crusial respite. IF Spain whould have buckled to Axis preassure for example.
Don’t buy it. It’s a bad poorly written rule set. I got a bunch of stuff and have been super disappointed, if you want to collect the models I think go for it cause they are amazing but again the game just falls on it’s face.
Hi Zachary, thanks for your feedback and I’m sorry you’ve had a bad experience with it. I used to play 1st Ed General Quarters many years ago back in the 90s and enjoyed those rules, before going over to 1st Ed Victory at Sea. These days I don’t get much time to game due to work commitments and so after playing the 1st Ed Victory at Sea with its very simple mechanics for a number of years, going on to second edition fits in with my time I have available. Your right about the models, I think the newer white resin is better than the grey resin they have been using. My only issue with the models is the base and the name on the side as I would prefer to have 3D printed name tags of the different ships from the class. Take care 😁👍
