One of the most difficult things to do as a professional voice actor is to choose the microphone that best fits your voice and the type of work you do. It's hard! And since these things are so expensive, it's not like you can buy ten and try them all out. You can't rent them. You can't borrow them. It's almost like marriage - it's a commitment! My favorite voiceover mic has been the EV RE-320 for years. I had a Neumann U-87 and a TLM-103 and I hated them both. For my voice, I felt it made me sound muddy and I had to over-EQ to compensate. Heard some good things about this U-87 wannabe by Warm Audio. And TL/DW: it sounds pretty nice over a wide range of voices with a little processing. Have a listen and let me know what you think.
