"Warm Up" #1 - Andrea Giuffredi trumpet 

Thank you so much Maestro, with all my respect and admiration. I'm learning through tutorials, of course yours are in the front. Have bought a cheap beginners trumpet to fulfill an old dream of my life. Progressing through tutorials is an interesting challenge, since I'm in the engineering and construction world, mostly in the middle of nowere, so no much time and possibilities are left for formal classes. By now, I brought my lips to sound and got the first lower and mid scale, note by note, valve by valve: For me a great achievement. Now fighting for the higher third scale on the mouthpiece, not so easy, other valve combinations. Your warm up excercises are of paramount importance , very nice too, by the way!!!

Took my trumpet out of its case after like 20 years. The jazz fest in Rochester, NY, gave me inspiration to pick it back up again. This routine seems simple but it’s challenging (at least for me haha..) for now 😠

I'm playing a kazoo does that count?

How do I reduce the amount of excess air that doesn't buzz? I get the notes buzzing but there is a lot of air that still comes out the mouthpiece that is fairly loud. I suspect this means the air is not efficiently being used, like I'm wasting air that's not turning into a clean centred sound.
