Always the fun part of 3D prints. I understand you about the bases. We got so used to the injected mold bases after 20 years. Its always good to see more Warmachine channels on RU-vid. They do have quite a few weapons options with these newer guys. Its pretty nice.
Yea, i can't put my finger on it. It just doesn't feel the same. It's smart. Use the materials they have. But oddly to me it makes the product feel "cheaper" compared to injection bases. And they are the same size, hell the printed bases are heavier so it might even be better in the long run. Just feels wrong though.
@@UnderwhelmingUpkeep incredibly that is weird, since technicaly 3D printing with the current tecnology is more expensive by material, its not talked about but injection molding is actually the cheapest manufacturing method for products with current technology, IF you produce in large enought volume, it has very high upfront costs, but the price per unit and maintnance is seriusly low, but the 3D prints feel cheap, because we have acess to consumer grade, affordable home 3D printers, so we asociate 3D prints with "budget" DIY options
@@gabrieljusti1322 Facts. I guess thats why. Since I can do it, it feels like a cop out compared to injection molding that is much harder. Something about the injection molded bases just feel cleaner, slicker, just overall better but thats a personal view. To give credit, the weight and durability might be better. We'll see.
The magnet thing to my gathering is that the intent originally was to include them, but due to regulatory things on choking hazards and such with toys got in the way. This is why they don't package them in the boxes for starters anymore either.
So they never packaged them IN the starters (I've bought 4 kahdor, 2 dusk, and 4 orgoth starters and all of them came with magnets) they were always extra and outside of the boxes but were part of the purchase and if you bought from DGI or Mini Market or even PP you always got a set with your starters. The reason they were not IN the boxes was a UK regulation that magnets couldn't be packaged with the toys. You still get / got them for free with your starter. Someone commented already on this. They only do the magnets on release for the 120mm for free and make them a secondary purchase after the fact to help keep the costs down. 2nd hand info but it does sound right. PP wouldn't wanna cut magnets form the starters because that would seriously impact a new player and they really need to prioritize new player experience so they can start to grow the player base faster imo.
Comments on the PP Facebook page say that it & cignar are in the works next. They are being worked on at the same time. So it's a "race" the post said. You'll get it I'm sure
when i was doing research for my grymkin project i wanna start this year i found a few on ebay. Worse case I might buy a few scrap 120mms off ebay of FBMP or w/e.. and just harvest the OG bases.
Haha, i mean i've seen worse to be fair. And once you clean it up the model is amazing. I just think they are being more safe than sorry and need to dial in supports a bit better imo
