That Orc hero on Wyvern is a clear MVP. Everywhere he went stuff died. Also, the Chaos general needs new dice. That was a shocking amount of failed ordera on their part. They got out ordered by bloody Orcs!
I feel bad for the chaos chariots there. I don't know what could have worked differently. Using the hounds as a screen to absorb the orc charges? Ceding that side of the river completely? A lot of the goblin infantry stayed well-hidden in the woods for this battle. In the best of worlds, they might have trimmed off some orc boar stands before getting overwhelmed.
Yet another great battle report of yours, thanks for sharing! While not exactly pretty, I find your table setup excellent for this type of game: it makes "reading the table" really easy, which helps a lot when following the often complex turns. And while personally I could live with much less of the "voice acting" inbetween, it certainly adds some characterful bits. Overall an interesting back and forth, with an early lead and a final victory going to the mighty Greenskins. Waaagh!
Does standing on a riverbank grant units defended status from shooting as well? I can understand that a unit fighting off people forced to stand in the water are in a better position, but what would they use to cover from missiles?
You only get defended status if the enemy charge into you across the river and you are on the river bank. It is an optional terrain rule from the advanced terrain page in the compendium.
@@iainmstanding I like it, terrain does not need massive amounts of special rules. I know Warhammer could have some funky special terrain like walking forests and alien ice worlds.
Hi, love your WM Vids and Tutorials. I'd say, they are best on UT ! I have a question to you : I own literally thousands of 28/32mm Fantasy and historical Miniatures which I use(d) for Warhammer ( 3rd,6th - 8th Edition, WAP and WH CE ) and Hail Caesar. HC 2.0 for historicals is definively my cup of tea, Really like it. However, I am also a huge Fantasy fan since D&D in 1978. Now my idea is to use this "inventory" of mainly GW Fantasy miniatures to play the with Warmaster Revolution rules. My gaming table's dimensions are 180x120 cm ( Standard WHFB ) . If I'd convert the 10mm "rules" to my 28mm armies , each stand would be at minimum 10cm long and 4cm deep ( 10 minis in 2 ranks ). So one unit of Infantery with 3 stands would already take up 30x 4cm of Space. I think, way too much for my table size. In HC a unit of my 28mm infantery takes 16x4 cm and the rules use woundmarkers for any "losses". Now my idea is, to transfer this system to Warmaster Revolution in 28mm. So I'd use my typical WHFB Regiments ( Infantery in Minis: 5x4 or 4x4 resp. 5/4x3/4 large Inf., 5x1 or 5x2 for Cav. and 5x2 for Missile troops ). Instead of using stands, I'd use two dice behind each regiment tray showing the wounds/hits remaining..so starting out with 9 eyes for a unit of infantery, reflecting 3 stands of 3 hits each. In case I'd add a "stand" of skirmishers to the regiment, 'Id take a single base of 8 - 10 minitures in 2 rankes direcly next to the regiment and would give them their own woundmarker. Question : Do you think my idea is feasable or would waiving the 3-stands-system lead to tactical disadvantages in the game itself ? Thanks for taking the time to read my request. You can definitely try the ruleset at different scales. If you have enough models, it may be worth representing each stand of troops in a unit with several 28mm models. So 8 infantry = one stand, placed 4 by 2. 4 cavalry = 1 stand placed 2 by 2. 1 chariot = 1 stand. So a three stand unit would be 24 infantry or 12 cavalry. The movement ranges are fine as they are, as 20cm is 8 inches, 30 cm is 12 inches, which is roughly one movement phase worth of movement at 28 mm. Ranged weapons will seem a little short but you may get used to it. Give it a go and let me know what you think.

I think you tube restricted the video on confusion in certain countries due to the music. If you have access to a vpn you can change the ip address for your Internet connection to another country, eg UK, which will grant you access to videos restricted in your country.
