A short Torah thought and Chassidic insight on the name of the Parsha - - with a practical lesson for our day to day life with Rabbi Moishe Kievman
Most of this years insights are adapted from Lekutei Sichos bit.ly/3FqRB1E. You can join us each Shabbos afternoon as we learn 2 amazing Sichas from the original text, first one right after Kiddush and the second right before Mincha. Another great resource is projectlikkute...

Behind the Name of the Parsha: Warm the Children, Softly
Emor means to speak softly. Rashi explains that the reason the Torah says it twice, is lhazhir hagedolim al haketanim - to teach us that the adults have a responsibility to educate the children.
Although the Torah is speaking in regards to the laws of a Kohen, the Rebbe teaches us that Torah is eternal, and therefore contains a lesson for all of us and for all times..
That every adult has a responsibility and obligation to educate the next generation. And of course the way to teach them is
1) Emor = in a soft tone
2) As Rashi explains Lhazhir which literally means to warn (that the adults warn the children), but it also comes from the root Zohar = Light up.
We must light up their path, showing them the proper way to go..
This weeks Parsha also contains the Mitzvah of counting the Omer, which is done every day of the month of Iyar - The month we're in right now.
This teaches us another important lesson in education. That when it comes to teaching children, you have to 1) show them by example - it's not just something for some day in the future. It's something we put into practice right away. 2) Education is something that is done daily, without missing even one day. 3) Whatever we learn has to be in a way that it refines our character. Each day becoming a bit of a better person.
May we all merit to have a part in Emor - to educate the next generation softly, lighting up their path, teaching by example and refining ourselves every day, in best of health, filled with happiness, nachat, prosperity, success and an abundance of all good things!
