It has nothing to do with TNT and how much money they can pay. Amazon offers a unique algorithm for gathering data and using that data to target consumers. The NBA and NFL want Amazon, because they can generate more and better advertising partners. If traditional media companies want to continue airing sports they need to ditch Nielsen and switch their research to Amazon, Google, and Meta.

That's a bunch of crap . The NBA are a Bunch of Greedy SOB that where never gonna give WBD or TNT a fair shake . And I hope WBD sues them for everything they have

It doesn't matter what they want, WBD has matching rights in the contract.

WBD had matching rights but that didn't mean the NBA had to accept their bid. WBD would have to go into more debt to match Amazon's offer which for them is just another day's worth of revenue for them.

The purpose of Max for the NBA is just to simulcast games that are airing on TNT and not making it a Max exclusive telecast. That’s why they lost the bid.

But if thats Cas why would the NBA be mad at that Games on streaming and cable as to just streaming

Instead of forcing broadcasters to pay $2B or more, the NBA, NFL, MLB, FIFA, UEFA, and many others should probably just set their sights on the sports fans that are also cutting the cord.

More people probably have Prime than basic cable(TnT) these days so i am cheering for Amazon. Amazon should then sign over Ernie and crew under their umbrella. they'd all probably make more working for Amazon too.
@Wolverine607
@Wolverine607 2 месяца назад
Thats probably true. Because Prime people have for the free and fast shipping from Amazon as well as movies. NBA kind of has a point because of that. If they just decided to put games exclusively on Peacock then they would not have a point as Peacock is just Peacock and not part of getting free shipping. Granted there will be some with Comcast and NBC, but lots if not most will be on NBC OTA network as well which is hard to compete with. If too many are on Peacock exclusive than TNT has more of a point though that is a different package which is the bulk of TNT old package. Amazon took away a small part of TNT's old package which TNT thinks and I believe they did have right to match. But TNT had matching rights and NBA cannot take them away from TNT which is why they are suing.

The MAX NBA streaming didn’t even work last season. I would try to watch the game on Max because I was going to watch something on Max after the game, but it just froze every time and I had to go watch the game on TNT. Max dropped the ball. Peacock streaming isn’t much better, but at least it works and they have iconic NBA on NBC music 😂
