My Duke started having these focal seizures at age 6 about twice a month. He is now 12 and he only has one or two a year. Has never been medicated. He's never lost consciousness.
My dog had a seizure that never stoped. It took hours for me to found someone who could take me to the vet since I don't have a car. His seizure was still going and the vet couldn't stop it either so they had to euthanize him or else "his brain would had gotten to hot" as she said because his whole body was shaking. His body temperature was very high. I never got to know what was wrong with him, but probably a brain tumour. 😢😢
@@Blue_Lugiaexactly same what we've been through. Yesterday my dog got euthanized cause he had seizures for 8 hour straight. I think its all my fault that i couldn't be a good mom... I'm shattered
8 hour seizure, there's nothing you can do to know that before unless it's happened so how ur fault. Was it super hot outside? They happen when they want to. @SeaMistt
My dog just started doing this about an hr ago. He is 6 yrs old and out of nowhere wouldn't respond when I called him, laid on his side and was like he was slowly dying. About 1 minute later after we carried him back inside he threw up and was back to normal. Ive never seen him not respond to me calling his name or saying thw word ball but he was not responsive to any of that.
I’ve been trying to research these types of seizures, my baby recently started having these, and our babies act similar but my pup can stand up at all and tinkles on himself. It’s awful. If you have anymore info on these things please maybe let me know! I’m sorry for your baby though
How did you know he was about to have one? Trying to figure out my boys seizure situation. He’s 13-14 and has 6 grand mals a few days ago. We were at ER for 24 hours and I’m wondering if I’ve been missing little ones like these. He also had a fly bite one before grand mal as well.
We have a 15 month old pug with refractory epilepsy. He is currently hospitalized for the fifth (or so) time for some bad status seizures. We're starting KBr, as his 4th medication. We have maxed out everything else. I'm very sorry to see that your dog is also dealing with this terrible disease. I believe that is dog parents dealing with this should communicate our experiences since so little is known about refractory idiopathic epilepsy. Hopefully, one day there will be more medical knowledge on how to combat this, as it seems you have for a while judging from your videos. Best, Joey
How’s your dog doing right now? One of the vets I see suggested KBr and the other one doesn’t. I also feel like we’ve pretty much maxed out all the other options :(
My dog keeps having seizure. His lower jaw keeps shaking and he's been yawning. He's on some medications now. It's scary bec we don't know what's going to happen to him.
Hello SRaymundo, my dog has the same symptoms. Can I contact you somehow to see how it looks just to compare with my dog? We are now in process of discovering what it is
My little Chihuahua had a seizure about three hours ago and I don't want to do. He first clumsily crawled and fall over himself. Then he stiffened his legs and expression froze. I was scared. Now I'm just stressed! I don't want to put him on any harmful meds either, I had bad experiences myself. What should I do?! 😩
My 11 years old boston terrier is like this too, he had his 1st seizure 4 days ago, so this behavior is a heartbreaking so my question about your dog, did he get back to his old self yet?
My dog has this condition he has a mass on his liver and the toxics from his liver give him seizures he is on keppera but the vet put him on Gabapentin instead of taking keppera
my dog had seizures before until i changed his dog food , im serious i use to feed him other dog foods , then i started feeding him blue buffalo and they stopped it could be the same issues i was having so chemicals dog food companies use will cause seizures
@@shanks4391 all of these dog foods add things some dogs will react to .only thing i will feed my dog now is fresh foods its a steady diet of boided chicken and vetables like carrots broccoli
My 1 year old chiweenie has recently been sleeping and she wakes up out of a sleep she sits up stretches her neck up and around a little and then just start screaming and I go right over right away and comfort her and calm her down as she stopped screaming but her eyes looked delirious like she's confused or she's seeing blurry possibly.. I don't know if it's a seizure or a night Terrors or what is going on with her.. I know it's absolutely heartbreaking.... Is anyone else having this problem with their dog any ideas of what it could possibly be??
@@megandzoesmom6573 that’s good! We’ve since gone to the vet - my dog is 5 years old, and the vet thinks it is epilepsy, but it’s not a huge deal unless seizures become frequent 🤷🏻♀️
Why do people let dogs get into their beds they stink and shed hair plus drool just gross I don't understand that we couldn't even get on my grandmas bed
@@barbaraeddy5725 i second what you said. I have 2 lovely chihuahuas and this place is their home. While they are bathe regularly and don’t stink I would care less if they do but if they want to be next to me on my bed (their bed too) they go up. All beds in this apt have stairs just for them. We have window perch with stairs too for them, the apt was tailored to their needs and we have bought custom items just for them. The love you have for your dogs, such compassionate and loyal living angels words can’t describe.
