standing ovation for Jack Gleeson. he succeeded in making people cheering over a mother grieving over her son. that's how you know, he's done such a great performance as joffrey. Kudos Jack!
2:17 you know, I often forget about this. Audiences around the world have to come to love Peter as an actor and as a person, and it's easy to forget how much shit he has gone through in life. I read an interview with him somewhere where he describes how he refused to take roles that were demeaning to him - Santa's elves, etc, and as a result spent many of the formative years of his career as an impoverished actor. Much like the actress who plays Shae, the humiliations his character experiences must also ring true to his own personal experiences. He's done an amazing job to help us understand Tyrion, and of course, the best actors are the ones that can bring true emotion to the table without us even noticing. He's done so well in this role. He's earned where he is. It's just a shame he had to fight so damn hard to get there.
It's a really weird love/hate thing with Joffrey. On the one hand it's really great to see the loathsome character finally die, but it is also really sad for the cast and audience to see such an awesome young actor leave.
Crichjo32 The same thing can be applied to Iwan Rheon as Ramsay in my opinion. Yeah, we hate Ramsay, but Iwan does a wonderful job and it sucks that he not on the show anymore.
Let me start by saying: I have not read the books so i cant give spoilers towards that. I don't think he will die he is to smart and often to lucky for that. Yes once his luck will run out maybe but i think he will escapes this. I don't know how but he will find a way or something will find him. (and he is one of GRRM favorite characters :) )
Spoilers ahead: Well, I have read 4 of those books and I am done with half of 5ft book, and Tyrion hasn't died yet. I hope he won't couse he just gets more badass every moment. :D
I hate Joffrey so much, when i read the book i was so happy for his dead, but when i watch him on the show, was hard to see because when he fell was so human and shocking, i don't know if anyone felt that,. Anyway, Jack was a great and perfectly Joffrey and i will miss him as actor, but i won't miss Joffrey
I was so happy when I read Joffrey's death in the books, but I'm genuinely sad for not seeing Jack Gleeson on the show anymore. I hope we see more of him in more shows or films :)
It was a brutal death. And the shot that shows his face, when he is dying, it's just so shocking... I knew it was coming, but I felt really bad for him, to only be held by his parents, and in such a terrible way... Ugh... This scene made me feel sorry for that prick. Great acting, Jack!
Joffrey reminded my alot of Draco Malfoy.. I miss Jack Gleeson, and douchbag Joffrey, but loved that he finally died.. I think I have a douple personality in my
That's how it was in the book. It kind of shifts to a poor little kid dying a long, hopeless death while everyone just watches. I still laughed, though :/
It takes a great actor to gain such hate through a character he plays. To the extend that you just want to punch him in the face when you see him walking on the street. I loved watching him be the bad cunt that he was and I will never forget how great he was at it :P Love you man, hope to see you in other series/movies.
Joffrey was a monster but is this truly justice? Ned Stark would have never approved. Theres a saying in Westeros "the only ones that kill with poison are women and dornishmen"
Wielkoryb from rewatching the scene like 100 times it looks as if though the old lady posioned him right? with something from sansas necklace but were they all into it or were the other ladys clueless? im terrible with names and grammar forgive me.
Jack Gleeson you are TOO good of an actor to completely stop it... Hope you will find the joy in it again, cause you're fucking awesome at it. Would love to see you in more stuff in the future!
Jamie Lannister has been in the future! He's grown his hand back and bought coffee while at it 0:26 ;D I really loved this episode. You can learn so much from the great cast and crew, when you are in filmmaking yourself. You have my hat, dear sirs!
What a great actor! Even though Joffrey is such a contemptible character I will miss him in the show. There was always suspense surrounding him and his mood swings. It made you wonder what crazy, cruel thing he was going to do next. His death in the books and show was soooo anticlimactic, it made me hate him even more, haha. Great writing! I am glad they kept it relatively close to the book.
I absolutely won't miss him lol. Sad that gleason is out but i felt relieved when he finally died, and then tense again when tyrion gets blamed. At least not awkward anymore at joffrey's shit lol.
goodbye jack. we will always remember you as king joffrey, in all the days to come (seriously, this dude did a wonderful job, so wonderful that even in about twenty years i will forget his name but his character not) lol...
I even feel horrible for saying this, but I'm actually going to miss Joffrey simply for Jack's performance. I can only hope the best for his future career.
Margaery is like a bad-luck charm to any marriage where she's the bride. First Renly and now Joffrey. She's probably going all #doublewidow #getonmylevel right about now.
Harlan Pickrell Because now Margaery Baratheon-Lannister nee Tyrell is the new queen of the Andals, the Rhoynar and the First Men, Lady of the Seven Kingdoms and Protector of the Realm.
Wait a moment.. What??? A featurette from GOT channel with more than 30sec or a minute??? Great idea!!! Fantastic!! Never would have thought of that! More of that length. Perhaps i will start to watch em again..
I really couldn't imagine a better actor for Joffrey than Jack. Still I hate Joffrey but I'll fucking miss Jack a lot! And it's a pity that he died that early because I'd have loved to see anyone slapping him again.
