Appreciate you sharing your experience. I narrowly avoided this on vacation in MB SC. Ordered tickets for a show online, and the website stated you will receive your tickets via email. Well, the email comes, and states you have to pick your tickets up in person. So we drive to the location given, and surprise surprise… it’s a counter with time share shills. They give you the tickets and promise you the world if you attend their time share pitch. I considered it for half a second and got the hell out of there. Thanks to people like you sharing their stories, my family and I were spared this nightmare. Thanks again!
The Hilton offered us $150 and a free week to go through this process. The wife and I went through it and didn’t buy. Price is outrageous. They wanted us to finance for 120 months after 6K down and with the yearly cleaning fee total would be around 93K. Time shares are a scam doesn’t make any financial sense to me.
@@johnpalomino2618 yes got both but for the free week you have to pay a non refundable deposit in advance when you sign up on the website. So just said screw it to the week. They are very very pushy.
@@user-zt6bt8dp2c I once went to one of these stupid sales pitches in Hawaii for Marriott Ko Olina. I didn’t buy but they offered me a “test drive” one week for $400 that covered taxes and resort fees. Catch was had to attend another stupid 90-minute presentation on the week stay. So took them up on the offer. A year later booked the trip went to the 90-minute presentation and they brought out the big guns. They couldn’t break me though and bought nothing. They were super rude the last two days and tried to charge me some BS cleaning and repair fee for $2000. Disputed that and charges were reversed. That was my one and only time going the distance with these stupid timeshare ripoff artists.
@@johnpalomino2618 man props to you that sounds like torture. The first thing I said when I sat down was “I feel like we’re gonna get scammed” the lady got all offended said “if this was a scam we wouldn’t be allowed to sell” but to pay over 90K in 10 years is definitely a scam. She was rude and sarcastic but trying to act like she was joking. I was irritated with her. It’s nice to get the free stuff but not sure if it’s worth it probably won’t put myself through that again.
@@johnpalomino2618 I guess they've increased the prices now as I was offered $799 for 5n in Kauai to attend their sales pitch. Planning to schedule the sales pitch on last day and say I'm broke and will watch out for BS charges!
If you find yourself being asked to sit in on this, just tell them you’re single. This works VERY well if you’re a guy. Timeshare sales people despise single men because they tend not to buy. This won’t work as well if you’re a single woman - they will still try to sell a timeshare to you. The main demographics for timeshare sales - Florida is for families, Vegas, Mexico and the Carribean is for single women or groups of women (girl’s night, etc) and for couples. The easiest way out if you cannot say no is to say you’re single and broke.
Don't judge, I wish I looked a timeshare tips before I went. Long story short I saw space center tickets for 100 bucks compared to 270 at the booth. I thought great deal, sit through a promotion at Westgate Orlando 90 min. Worst experience of my family's life. In at 1200pm and out at 5pm and I got suckered into buying a villa 😵😫. Even my wife could not say no, we felt trapped. Needless to say I read the contract the next day and thank God there is a 10 day rescission period. I already submitted my letter to cancel the contract. Yes, avoid the promotions at all costs, saving a little over 150 bucks was not worth it!!!
So what happened you send the letter certify? Within 10 days and that's all it took? I'm in the same boat I sent my latter 3 days after it should be getting there today. I put my contract and member number and the reason I was canceling it it should be enough right.
I have a friend that used to sell timeshares and she told me that if I were in front of her at timeshare sales pitch she would eat me alive. She said I would have no chance of not buying. I always think of that when people say they got suckered. I don’t think of myself as a sucker but they have a whole process to get you.
I willingly walked into a timeshare in exchange for a few days in Breckenridge. Spent an hour with a nice woman as she showed me the property. I showed no interest as I knew I could easily purchase on the secondary market.
😅😅😂😂😂todo traumado el Brother se ve que le arrebató la hoja del survey al vendedor que horror de persona ya me lo imagino todo psicótico 😅😂perdón le teníamos que dar tarima para que se desahogara 😅❤
I heard stories for those who say they are broke they even go as far as opening a credit card for you without telling you. They will offer you the world the first weeks waiting for the rescission time period to end which can be between 3 to 14 days depending on your state and once you are hook thats it they are no help after that all they want is their commission
They sell their timeshares over 100x more than they are worth. And your maintenance fees will be equal or higher than just booking a hotel. That is all you need to know if you want to destroy the person trying to sell you one.
@@ActorBryantTo We literally just sat through one at Massanutten Resort. It took me 45 minutes to come up with the best reason I could think of, "this is our last trip before I have to report to prison for tax fraud. We booked this because it was basically free and we don't have any money to spend right now, as it was seized by the feds." VERY EFFECTIVE. Also, we both knew what we were getting into. I LOVE FREE STUFF! But he did say something that resonated with me, he said, "if you could afford to go on vacation on and not sit here and listen to me, then we both know you wouldn't be here.... blah blah blah." And I was like, TRUE. So we likely won't use our next 'free gift of a 4 day trip'. If you want a time share, people are trying to GIVE THEM AWAY! And for reference, our offer started at $31,000 for a 1 bedroom 1 bathroom condo for 7 days every year.... to our exit pitch offer which was, "what about JUST $1,000? I can get you that same thing for that, what would you say then?" Be smart and beware!
This is all bullshit i went for a 7 night and 8 day vacation. My experience was the sales person pretended to be a managaer give us a good ass deal and she was way too friendly saying they trying to help you and tell you their experiecne, they gave us a price for 58k and if we pay an extra 2k they would double us the point somehow cause i had a discovery card. Well i said yes to that but now the association fee was double like $260 and the 16% interest bro turned 60k into 117k of coursethey go through the paper work as fast as possible trying not to show the othet price which goes with fees and other stuff they dont tell you about. I have done a lot fo resarch and some people attent to this things for the free stuff like vacations and all and it could be worth it maybe, youll have to be there 5 hours saying no but you get 7 days vacation that deal isnt as bad for me but a lunch it aint worth it. Well im still in the 10 days that florida gives you to cancel the contract, my letter should get there today hopefully im out of this ahit hole but at least i got my 7 night's i was offer. Also i hard someones story that the sales perosn got so mad that they left and didnt give them their voucher funny stuff
