I’m glad Yota had the idea to call the other store. Marc Jacobs has that same policy, I recently learned. You have to buy direct from MJ for them to honor the warranty (not department stores or wherever). Thanks for sharing! Peace and love..Suz What ☮️💛

Oh Cami I would have been irate too if Valentino had said they wouldn’t repair under warranty or at all. It doesn’t make sense. Wherever you bought the bag from it’s still a new Valentino bag. Thanks to Yota for advising you to call the other boutique. It just shows how easily we can be misinformed. It really does pay to double check with a situation like this. I purchased a mulberry bag from farfetch and it arrived with a cracked d ring but it was the last one and sold out everywhere. I spoke to mulberry and they were happy to repair it as farfetch is on their approved sellers list. Interesting to hear that the bags are handmade. Glad that you got yours sorted in the end!

i just got scammed from Farfetch, their partnered boutique which sit in Italy just sent me an old bag from Prada, there are even scratched on it. After i returned it they refused to refund my money and told that I wore and damaged that bag which is not true. Disgusting Italy scammers.

In the meantime, at a cobbler this would probably cost barely anything to fix. Farfetch is a little complicated because they are the middle man for many boutiques around the world.

I’ve heard that if you purchase a Louis Vuitton bag from a third party seller, LV won’t repair if needed. Definitely something to consider when buying luxury bags
Louis Vuitton will repair any of their bags if they don’t have cracked canvas. They will charge a repair fee. I had two bags that I bought outside of the boutique repaired. They will not replace a bag if there’s a defect and you can’t prove that you bought it within a certain time. If there was a recall, you have to take it in within a certain timeframe.
I don’t know much about policies. I should being that I spend a fortune on this nonsense lol. I’m just glad Valentino is taking care of it free of charge. TFW🙏🏻😊
Actually, you were very lucky that they will help you with the repair. If you purchase say a Hermes bag from another site and something happens , Hermes will do nothing for you. They won’t even authenticate the bag if you try to take it to the store to have them look at it.

I'm so sorry this happened to your bag. Did the leather tab rip or is it fully intact? If it's intact, I wonder if it wasn't fully installed like how mine arrived with the leather tab + D ring not installed. I was able to ship mine to a Valentino store after they ordered the replacement studs (because they would need to pull the bag apart on the side and it would destroy the existing studs). The wait for them to receive the replacement studs was about 4 weeks. Then they asked me to ship the bag to them and THEY then shipped the replacement studs and the bag off to their repair shop. The repair itself took about 4 weeks. I have no clue why they needed to have the studs shipped to them if they were going to ship the bag off to their repair shop. I didn't have to pay for the repair or return shipping, just the shipping to them. I LOVE this bag and am grateful to you every single time I look at or use the bag for sharing your unboxing and review.
Thank you for watching and sharing your story. The leather piece was intact. I sent the extra studs just in case. They told me 2-3 weeks. But you’re right, they probably have to pull the bag open on that seam to reconnect the tab and D ring. We’ll see what happens. 😊
You’d hope that a luxury brand would stand behind their product, but it’s all about the money today. So glad that Valentino is doing that, but Far Fetch is pretty shady in not revealing their policy when people are spending considerable amounts of money on the items they promote. You can always count on Yota for good advice!😊

I admire your tenacity. I probably would have given up after the first phone call. I’m glad Valentino is taking care of the repair. Keep us posted on the progress. When they repair the bag, tell them to check the other ring, in case it’s a defect.
