Great video Motorman, I too am guilty of the "too slow" maneuver, especially in a parking lot with other vehicles around, not so much out on the street...I need to remember to keep my head up and turned towards where I want to go, at times I find myself looking to far into the turn, and that's when I get that off balance feeling...I'm 65 years old, been riding since 1972 and still learning things from your videos that have made me a better rider...Thanks.

See, Jerry makes mistakes... he stuck the camera in his pocket without turning it off first... A little bit of pressure on that on/off switch insures the camera goes off but not enough pressure and... well it’s gonna stay on...

Yes. I will never teach proper camera techniques. Nor would I ever be dumb enough to comment on a professional photographers how to, youtube channel just because I own a camera. Unlike some of the people that somehow find their way to my channel to tell me what I should be doing with my students.

Didn’t spot as single one of em. Got the video, done some practicing, Florida to far away, did an advanced class locally today, Pleased to say, I avoided riding like a duffuss, Different cone patterns, Same three techniques. Fun way to spend a day with a diverse group of riders. I might even be a slightly better rider. Pretty sure the practicing helped.

Great video! Quick question. You mentioned before an ideal psi front tire inflation is best for manoeuvring rather than the HD manual recommendations. I just wanted to ask why? Thanks
@motorman857

40 psi makes it easier to turn the front wheel and stops the front wheel from wanting to flop to full lock.

Man Jerry, am I glad you make these videos. I was out riding yesterday got a couple miles from home and realized I forgot sunglasses. So, I ducked into a parking lot to make a U turn. It wasn’t pretty but I did it. Went home, got my glasses and made another U turn in the driveway, it might have been 20 feet or so. I was shocked I did it. I need to practice. After watching your video, I see what I was doing wrong. I was definitely not turning my head and handlebars fast enough and I too kept raising my shoulder. It’s such a natural reaction when turning. Ugh!! Oh well, luckily, there are lots of empty parking lots so as soon as I get a free minute, I’m heading out to practice. Thanks again for doing what you do.

Thanks Jerry, returning to riding after 24 years, absolutely shocked at what I didn't know, first bike when I was 9 (ct70), last was a V65 (and I survived), pride and joy now is a VT1100C2 Shadow ACE Cruiser in Pearl and Black that somebody before me spent a ton of coin on tasteful accessories... studded everything! I can now turn her easily within the 18 foot and I practise every time I'm out, have to work on the stopping stationary thing, but I'm amazed at the confidence low speed proficiency gives you on the everyday ride, put 1800 kms on it since buying it last fall, been watching you and Kevin Morris on mcrider.com all winter, and since heading out in April (which is early here in Nova Scotia) I've racked up another 1500kms. Watching these videos I know has made me a much safer rider, plus given the knowledge of lean angles, counter steering, friction zones, etc. I am truly getting more enjoyment out of every trip... You gotta come to Nova Scotia and experience the road to Advocate from Parrsboro in Both directions (Tail of the Dragon but in Canada) and the Cabot Trail in Cape Breton, I'll personal escort you on both just let me know. Thanks again, we're learning as we go! Mantra for everything right? Take Care and Stay Safe! Thanks for your service.

@@motorman857 Jerry, this "blind corner" is a sweeper on a 55mph zoned major two-lane that is blind on the vertical plane, and is a heavy trafficed deere alley as well.
