David Esparza nothing he just went off the scene ever since g funk died out in the late 90s and early 00s but he's been touring tho , and doing his thing
*Damnnnn. I still get chills when I hear this beat come on. There's a certain special sound the 90s gave birth to that will never be duplicated. I miss it yo.*
Warren G is so super underrated!!! He's just as important to Hip-Hop as Dr.Dre and Snoop. His music stands on its own!!! Which is hard to do.. and his music was and is always so clear and clean just a whole vibe anytime of the year... it always feels like a summer party when Warren g is played
Listening to music like this reminds me of how great of an era the 90’s & the early 2000’s truly were! Every genre of music was at its pinnacle. There will never be music like this ever again. You can hear the art coming out of those speakers so well.. nowadays this generation is to worried about a check that they almost lost sight of the true magic that makes music what it’s suppose to be. I hope they find its roots once again. Until then..
This song has honestly been stuck in my head for about 25ish years and could never find it, as the lyrics were so broken in my head. A 25ish year mystery finally solved!
This shit dropped my senior year. 2022, still grooving to it. I still have my mix tape from 1994! Fuck, man, this still hits me in the chest. Those were the days.
@@luka1991 talking with homies about that this morning, he still got the shaft when 213 was brought to the table. snoop and nate were built up and got a lot more exposure for their time out of the 3. I didnt really know much about him until I started looking, but I'm from Canada and in my late 20's. Considering that, I had to delve into snoop/nate music in order to really recognize him as a teen. seems to be the same with a lot of people I've bumped any 213 shit with
I think a better term would be overlooked. if u aren't a hip hop cat, you know snoop and nate still. he himself has talked about how the limelight didnt hit him the same way it hit his counterparts from when "The Hard Way" dropped
These beats will never be duplicated again, This is how production became relevant in Hip Hop, Warren G, and his G-Funk, is like going to musical history class. 424 Warren G.
One of the best lines in any rap song EVER.. “The streetlights just came on and my mommas in the streets tellin me to come home, I hit the gate and i hops on my Schwin, and i tell the homies aiaght then, Yea” If that dont bring u back to ur childhood, rich or poor dont matter, then nuthin will
Warren G literally saved Def Jam back then. The label was dead in the water and on life support. His arrival ensured the continued success of the label. Been riding with Warren G since he broke through.
Why I keep coming back to this 30 year old tune ❤❤❤❤ Why I keep nodding my head to this tune ❤❤❤❤ fresh as ever in 2024 Warren G why this never gets old Why o why ❤❤❤❤
Damn man, I was 23 years old when this song came out. 26 years has passed by quickly, it feels like it came out the other day. Time has passed by quickly.
Man I remember being in my 4th week of basic training and not having heard any kind of music other than boot amp chants. Our drill instructor sent me to deliver some mail to another company that happened to be in their final week of basic. I get to their barracks and they're in there having a pizza party and this is the song they were blasting loud as hell! It made me happy and lifted my spirits. This was back in 94.
+HowToMakeBeats na he is a good rapper. Give credit to rappers who write their own shit. And don't need a ghost writer. Plus I don't think I've ever heard wareen used any recycled rhymes from the past
This track was out when i got my very first ride as a 16 year old...i got my very first sound system in my hooptie. I had 2 mtx 10" speakers in the back of my trunk. You talk about a teenager excited to play this in his ride...ah, man!!! That deep low bassline that hits the ground and when you ride was airtight making the quality sound better. I remember turning speakers in a certain direction of the trunk to reflect the sound better. I was experimenting with the sound quality. To put it short...this was a must in my ride back then. 😎🎵🎶😄😀
I'm from NY, but when I visited LA just 2 1/2 weeks ago, I loved it! In fact, I loved it so much, I extended my stay and stood for 11 days. Can't argue with constant sunshine, and an urban environment while still having a mountainous scenery. I never felt smothered, unlike in NY which is always dark, gloomy and cramped. My goal is moving out there when I save 30gs. I'll still be repping the NY, but damn! LA was fun
Fun Fact: This album runtime was only about 37 minutes long. This is still one of the best hip hop albums ever released in my opinion. Quality over quantity!
I remember it being 33 minutes, but you might be right. Nevertheless, one of the reasons it is a masterpiece is because it is short but sweet, not convoluted. Every track was at least a B, like The Fugee’s The Score, Dr. Dre’s the Chronic, Snoop Dogg’s Doggystyle, and Nas’ Illmatic.
dis song plus da beat just got me flashing back to when I was a lil nigga running around da projects with my homies having fun with no worries! was no social media drama back den! we was just free! no wack rappers rapping about being drug addicts, they didn't cross dress for fame & everything had a smooth melody I'm only 25 but my soul is old...dang i miss da 90's
At first I thought the OP was being sarcastic like me because of how dated the transitions are, but now all of you guys are being serious and making me think OP was serious too. Also Kriss Kross Tonight The Night has similar transitions just not as extreme
It's 2023 and I am still down with the G Funk Era!! Love this whole album. Still have the cassette that I bought back in 1994 when "Regulate" was the summer anthem that year. Good memories when I listen to this classic hip hop. Damn the 90's were so good!! Life was more simple back then ✌️
I love watching Warren G videos because they always give you a visual and mental picture of his life growing up and being in the rap game. Them G-funk grooves and his story telling skills was on point back in the 1990s.
zakaria chahidi hiphop didn’t die, but the term itself has come to include alot of stuff that isn’t really hiphop. That comercial junk is what the broad public tend to associate with hiphop nowadays, but good shit is still being recorded and produced in major volume my man. 🙌
I was 15 when I heard this song reminds me of the bank, West Bank, man I miss them days. My brother really manned up then, he didn't have to he could have had some real fun, with the rest of us in the friendship Centre group. I tried telling both my siblings.
+Osama Al Harbi Ive said this for years. He's underrated and under appreciated. DeathRow including his step bro Dre pretty much excluded him from the crew after all his contributions to The Chronic album and other projects, so he signed with Def Jam and made it on his own. No help from Dre or his boy Snoop. Go check out his wikipedia page and marvel at how much under the radar he is. You tube artists have more info on their wikipedia page than his.
As a guy that lives in Finland and came last week back from Cali, maaan i just wanna go back there.. i mean i remember just laying back watching the sunset in Venice beach ’bout to spark up a blunt with this song playing was easily the best moment in my whole life. This song just reminds me too much of the time i had back in L.A, San Diego and Vegas. After the whole trip i’ve made a promise that within 4-5 years i’ll be residing in California doesn’t even matter where. living in Finland is depressing, i mean literally everyone here is unsocial and the whole country itself is fucked up and negative in every way. For me California felt more like a home than my actual home does. Wish i can just live there and start my life all over again. Warren G is a genius and gives you the whole California vibes when his songs play.
