if they played a bit slower, it'd be a lot better. I'm in Pell City, AL's intermediate band, and we played this song at a recent football game. As a trumpet, it hard to play constantly and fast at the same time. Very high respect for this band. Amazing Job!
I don't rember if we had this tempo, but this had me winded when I played it for practice a day before the football game. (I play pea-shooter trombone.)
The Hey Song is my all time favorite song to play on trumpet, but this is different than how we play it. We play it slower. I go to Quapaw Marching Band
Great job. Takes me back 25 years when I played hs football in the great state of Texas. Small town friday night lights. The closest thing to going to battle, without going to battle. I loved hearing the band at our backs.
This is at least twice as fast as we play it, and with at least ten… fifteen?… times as many people as my school band has, but this is still one of my favorite pieces. (I happen to have the first trumpet music for this one, and though I think Rachel thinks I’m not ready, it’s what I played all of last year, and damnit, I love it.)
I put it to 0.75 and it sounds exactly like the speed my high school marching band played it, but we do play it quick if our school scores a touchdown, either that or our school song. Never this quick though, that was warp speed 😂
It sounds harder to play than it is but it’s really hard to play that well at that speed, my band loves it I’m in middle school we might do it for the band concert
I remember playing this in pep band a few years ago. This song was the bane of my existence. Generally, I wasn't very good at any song because all I practiced was Seven Nation Army, but this was the hardest even for the 1st chair trumpets.
If only there was an in-between for 0.75 and normal 0.75 seems bit too slow but the normal seems a bit too fast for how we did it in band and I was in band for 6 years but I guess everyone does it different
People saying there’s no sousas. If this is the same Warren HS I’m thinking of (Gurnee IL), there’s around 4000 kids in the school. There’s gotta be a least five or six (probably more) somewhere. This band is huge!
In my highscool we never had good instruments We never had trumpets and stuff like that Just drumms But we was one of the best band Even without all that instruments and i'm very proud for that
