Really loved the way this was directed...it was very professionally done. I was inspired. I cried. The bottom line whether you believe in God or not. Whether you believed she heard voices or not. Look at her actions... Something and someone did speak to her to motivate her. For such a young person she was very disciplined, motivated and she carried out her task. How many of us can say the same about ourselves....to live and die with such fervor and zeal in what they believe.
Holy Saint Joan, compassionate to the sick and wounded, who, while on earth, nursed so many back to health, hear me. You who wished to see no one injured or in discomfort, pray for me and guide me through this difficult time. Daughter of God, wounded many times in battle, I petition you for healing: (Share your request…) so that I may be better able to serve God in whatever capacity He wishes. Intercede for me. It may not be in God’s will for my body to be healed, for my sufferings may help another or my own soul. If my request is not granted, help me to remain strong, and instead be healed emotionally and spiritually. Amen. Saint Joan of Arc pray for us
Joan of Arc is an inspiration. She remained strong and collected during those harsh interrogations. She is truly my favorite saint and person from history. =D
I'm not Catholic, but have great admiration for The Maid. I don't care where you go to church as long as God is served first. That is the message of Protestantism, as long as God is served first. I believe she was sent by God to all the people of faith. I don't care that she was Catholic, God speaks to all who are willing to listen. God can speak for Himself and He did to Joan of Arc. I believe her.
At the end, she begged for a cross, which an English soldier made for her out of some twigs. This she held. She also begged for a cross to be held for her to see while she died. As she died in the flames, she cried out the name of Christ. I do not think she is mad or delusional. I think she is the rarest of the rare..a true saint. Even though I am Orthododox, rather than Catholic, I love her.
we can all find this within us. Thank you for sharing. I love this documentary so much and find it so inspiring. i would love to continue being me and inspire so many. That's what my channel is about. ♥ Joan of arc. #joanofarc
What a great program to watch while getting prepared to go to Joan of Arc's parade, today on Kings Day, held in the French Quarter, New Orleans. The procession will stop behind Jackson Square for the blessing of the sword, and finish its journey in front of the cathedral where the King is crowned, and that is the beginning of carnival:)
With out truth I had no hope or honor Joan of Arc didn't die alone she cried out for Christ Jesus Christ held her hand in the flames and Calmed her soul ❤ AMEN👍
This documentary is the best interpretation of Jeanne d'Arc I've ever seen. It's like the real person is reincarnated to a flesh and blood human again! And it's truly horrible, although Jeanne is pretty much responsible, for what happened to herself after she helped the king becoming king. If only she had more self-critisism, and could estamate the value of the things in life, without allways wanting to explain them through God, she could've had a decent future. She was hotheaded & egoistic.
As Protestants, we do not revere people as saints, but we accept that God makes saints, that the sainthood is for all believers. If Joan is called Saint, it's because God made her one.
Of the 5 Women Warriors in this documentary the only one not forgotten is Joan of Arc. Her life and death inspired writers like George Bernard Shaw and Mark Twain to write about her life. The best film about her trial is the 1928 silent film The Passion of Joan of Arc. Brilliant performance by Rene Falconetti. A French theater actress who did light comedy! She only did 3 films in her lifetime. Film is based on the actual trial transcripts. Viewers will not be bored by the intensity of that film.
When Charles VII was crowned that was it Joan had served her purpose he didn't need her anymore so when she was captured he felt no obligation to save her she had served her purpose as far as he was concerned
He couldn't. Political and religious purposes, especially at that such critical times, must be prior to 1 death. Even if she hoped, she knew from her voices that she will die. He was the king choosen by god and restored a very powerful France after her death.
Every time I see or read about Joan's execution, I find myself imagining one of her followers walking out of the crowd, and climbing onto the already aflame pyre to burn with her so she won't die alone as a final act of loyalty, and friendship.
im a 14 year old duch girl, and Jeanne is the most inspiring and straight forward person ive ever herd off shes the person that was the most brave of all and also she kept her ideals .. i think she was great !
Winston Churchill is said to have made the remark that Joan was more powerful in death than when she was alive. What really gets to me is that the English wizard "Merlin" for told of Joan a few hundred years in ADVANCE, And he was an Englishman!. It's not like the English weren't warned.
The Brits certainly were frightened of her. They reburned her charred remains a second time out of fear that the Catholics might try and recover her relics.
Amen! Christianity was corrupted and still is!! People have forgotten that it was improvised by the Roman Emperor Constantine to appease the population so he could have complete control over it. People do not realize that the bible is also a weapon.
Joan de barc. ...stop it not ! did you walk the roads did you ride the horse did you battled for freedom? religion religion religion Prof brought Joan of Arc before the bishop deny to see the Popedenied...denied to be buried on sacred grounds...forced to put back on men's clothing rape and beat by 5 guards and captain were you her in the dungeon alone...did you feel her shame and guilt because of religion was the purpose of it all ! were you the one running tears down your eyes burning your cheeks ? were you the one put in the fire for the love of God and to only believe in his demands and commands ? I don't think you was until then you should not represent my name Joan of Arc because I encountered it all...the smoke the fire the flames is there anything else I need to remind you of ? only she knows about her walk on this earth and I don't think you took her steps....so don't you ever speak to me about religion.....I take my commands from my father God Almighty and my Savior Jesus Christ
, a lunatic is that reference to someone crazy ? Oh and you very hydrated educated... You studied Joan of Arc you studied every breath she took every step she took every teardrop that fell from her eyes.. Oh I see you studied her but was you her? If I recall I think they called Jesus Christ my Savior lunatic crazy! Well we used to those names because we know the truth and you only know what you read.. Do you find it so hard to believe that Joan of Arc. Has returned the same as Jesus Christ has returned... Because if you do then you do not know the powers of God do you think I am a amateur in a world of professionals ? I Know Who I am and Who I am is what I'll be I know many have claimed to be Joan of Arc imposters I know they're not because God only made one Joan of Arc and she still has the same soul heart and memories and as I said do not represent my name unless you know me on personal basis and you don't you're just like the ones that judge me before as delusional because miracles people as you sound like represent nothing to me I know the miracles and I am one.. So call me what you like if you think that makes you more smarter and educated.. I have been called worse on my journey of life but I know more then your mind ever expand to know... And religion is just a word so many use for wars... As Jesus Christ says I'm not here to start a war I'm here to finish them and for the New Kingdom of God it would be best you get down on your knees and pray before you tell others what to do because you not dedicated in the spirit of Christ.... And as I said don't represent my name because you don't know me Saint Joan of Arc Sincerely Yours
Joan of Arc surely survived the stake by the help of her only true friend Gilles de Rais, Marechal of France. He made a deal with the British, rescued her from the stake and made her a Commander of one of his own Regiments. She fought well at the South West of France, and even in Alsace and Germany. She married later a french Nobleman, lived a Family live with 2 sons and a daughter. She died at least fighting at the battle of Castillon in 1453, where she saved with her last breath once more the french Victory. That was the one and only reason for her King to reopen the process 3 years later. Friedrich Schiller was right in this way in his his playwright. He had known something more then the crowd.
Oh, come off it. What right do you have to judge who someone else admires? There's no proof that she was schizophrenic, and even if she was, what she did was pretty amazing. You just don't like her because she was Christian and brave enough to stand by her beliefs.
I was a Catholic girlbut as of today I claim no religion my Holy Father is my religion my power and my strengthand I will not be defeated welcome to Revelation the end of the old world and the beginning of the new o
Don't forget what some children did to some priests. Have you ever heard of a Cry Room? It's an enclosed silent room next to the pulpit for mom's with noisy ass babies who won't stop crying to go into, so the rest of the congregation doesn't have to hear that constantly... or if you're a priest, every damn sermon... lolz. I know this because even though I wasn't noisy, I spent some time in there just because I was a kid, watching all this pulpit nonsense unfold. Back then I thought, hey, if you want to find any god, you won't find it here... go out into the forest like I do...
They meant not that she supported the protestants, but that the protestants adopted her as a saint after her death. In life Joan probably would have been horrified, true, but an inspiring story/figure can be adopted by anyone. After all, it was the English who canonized her waaay before the French.
charles really in turns out to be a very ungrateful man. Not only did Joan of Arc fight so he ould be king she made him the king only to have him betray her and not only allow her to be kept in prison but to be burned as a heritic and then years later have the nerve to say that she was a divine messenger just to keep power...I guess history just can't always have decent people in it.
This video contains a number of things that have been refuted by historians. It admits that Cauchon (the judge) was an ally of the English - in fact an advisor to the English occupation government - but ignores the fact that all the other French members of the tribunal were also pro-English, and many of them later admitted that the English dominated the trial, as is also proven by English government records. The video makes it sound as if the issue came down to Joan opposing the Church, based on misleading quotes from the transcript which the eyewitnesses said had been deliberately falsified by the tribunal. The eyewitnesses said Cauchon was trying to support the English cause by discrediting Joan, rather than seeing her as a threat to "the Church's power" as this video claims. The video also ignores what the eyewitnesses said about her "relapse": they said she had been forced to give up the soldiers' clothing which she was using as protection against rape since this type of clothing had cords that could be laced through eyelets to attach the different parts together so her guards couldn't pull her clothing off; hence when she was forced to wear a dress - which left her vulnerable - she was subjected to attempted rape in what seems to have been a deliberate attempt to force her to "relapse" by going back to the soldiers' outfit. The bailiff later said the guards finally left her nothing else to wear. Marina Warner claimed the fire was pulled back to "prove she was a woman", although this was in fact simply the standard procedure to prove to the crowd that the person was dead, just as in cases of beheadings they would hold up the severed head. It claims that her family exploited her for money simply because they mistakenly thought that Claude des Armoises was Joan until proven otherwise. Families often cling to hope when they didn't personally see their loved one die, and are then duped by an impostor who physically resembles their loved one. it claims that Charles VII overturned the verdict after the war to benefit himself, when in fact her family petitioned the Church to investigate the case, which led the chief Inquisitor, Jehan Brehal, to conduct an investigation which overturned the verdict and declared her a martyr on 7 July 1456.
@nodinitiative well its just unfortunate, that bloody french bishop who was supposed to help her spell doom for her, i wonder what english would have done to her if she kept on her decision of accepting the guilt...good that she reciprocated and beleived in herself
I did not fight far my country....because they deserted me in the end I did not fight for the feminine I fought as a mother would 4 her lost child as a father would 4 his lost son my biggest battle 2 fight for was love to love and be loved and I was so rejected as Christ was rejectedbut do the grace of God and the blood of Christ I am back and Christ blood never dies and I will share love and receive it thank you Sincerely Yours St Joan of Arc
in the video it says "first protestant saint"? St Joan despised heretics e.g. she dictated a letter sent to the bohemian heretical followers of john Hus, saying she would lead a army against them. St Joan even express a desire to lead a crusade against the Ottoman Turks and Hussite heretics. She was no protestant but catholic.
@02Blackbeard crazy? why? becoz she chose death over compromise ? people having urs mentality must be around her that time and ordered her to execute. really if God has made the most beautiful thing which is mankind, its supposed to be the ugliest as well...RIP joan..where you are.
Charles VII was such an ungrateful asshole. He used Joan to get crowned as king of France and then did absolutely nothing to help her when she needed him. What a selfish bastard. Even if his political tactics had changed, he shouldn't have left Joan to die such a painful death. Regardless of whether or not you believe she heard divine voices, I think we can all agree that she was an amazingly strong, brave woman for what she did and has rightfully earned her place in history and legend.
