I accidentally bumped my Olight Odin on in my coat and melted a hole in the pocket. I smelled burning plastic and thought, "Someone's burning something around here", but it was ME! It was like a cartoon.
I use the warrior x pro for duty. Have had it for a couple of years now. I loved the magnetic charger because i can easily throw it to charge the same way i throw my radio to charge. I appreciate the usb charge if you need to top off on the go but i dont want them to get rid of the magnetic charge
I use a Warrior 3 on duty and own a Warrior x3. I fond the tail switch buttons to basically not even give the realistic option of a low mode so I prefer to use the 3 for duty as the side switch can be used for low... I love my EDC Warrior mini 3 and the new tail switch button struck me as necessary in any full size Warrior going ahead. I'm hoping this switch, which looks the same, handles the same way in which case this light will be a winner!
Warrior X 3 is hands down my favorite torch from Olight. What they missed from the new one is the warrior ring, one of the reason i like X 3 so much, it acts as defensive weapon and enhances the grip from the light. Those zirkonian beeds would have been nice on this model too.
I absolutely agree 👍 If the Warrior X 4 also came with a Warrior ring, heck if they somehow managed to upgrade the ring, I would've definitely considered buying one! I actually wonder if the ring would be interchangeable with the WX4. Hmm. Who knows? Until then, like you said, I love my Warrior X 3!
Thanks for the review. According to the Olight 2023 Black Friday - New Product Launch Event!!! announcement video at about 17 minutes, Olight Johnson states and shows that the C port is sealed, so the Warrior X 4 is still IPX8 with the ring open.
I don't like that you can't access strobe from both modes. I would much rather have it working like this: Regular mode - half press low, full press medium, double light press turbo and tripple light press strobe (or double full press). Hold on last press for momentary. Tactical mode - half press turbo, full press strobe
The warrior ring screams 'airsoft'. It's not a good impact weapon, will break your finger if you try to bezel strike with it, and you can't use it like a switchback. I think someone finally told them it was stupid, and they got rid of it. Just like the glow in the dark o-ring. The WX4 finally feels like a tool more than a toy.
I tried to go to seeker pro 4 to replace my original Warrior X as primary duty light and I prefer the warriorX in every way except no battery indicator. The seeker was actually a letdown for me. The 1/4 turn was a problem when you need light fast. I prefer a thrower to a flood for duty use. I have a warrior 3 for back up. This light might be a winner.
Can you do me a favor and try charging using a usb C to C cable? Previously they fucked that up on the Gober. They forgot to add internal resistors, so that they did not adhere to the usb C norms and charging did not work.
Totally random and unrelated to basically everything but you kind of sound like the lock picking lawyer it was driving me nuts trying to figure out why your voice was so familiar
How long is the hallway? I have the 3s and it’ll light up a good distance. The warrior x series will reach out further with a tighter hotspot but with good spill!
Olight has a video on this light and they show it under water with tge type c charging port exposed so I'm assuming it's water proof if it's cover is opened or closed
As far as the instruction manual said there is only two modes. And I didn't experience a third mode or a medium mode during my testing. Maybe their referencing to the step-downs when the light becomes hot.
There is a medium mode but it's within the tactical setting of the torch. The instructions state the torch must be turned on and the tail cap unscrewed until power drops off then retightened. Then you have only medium (1000 lumen) or strobe modes. Repeat to return to low/high mode operation.
There is a medium level : it is half press while in tactical mode (1000lm). Full press is 2600lm strobe. Normal mode is high (2600lm) for full press and low for half press (it's lower than medium but I don't remember how much). A selector switch rather than unscrewing it would have been way more pratical... Who's got such an idea seriously ?!
