For anyone interested in the Lore of Chaos vs Order. The Undead ultimately turned out to be an order faction. During the endtimes Vlad von Carstein and Nagash fought with the good guys against the Forces of Chaos. The Skaven on the other hand are in fact worshippers of Chaos. Their main god the horned rat is considered to be a minor chaos god and they helped Archaon and the Chaos Forces during the endtime, apparently in Age of Sigmar the horned rat was elevated to a main Chaos god but I don't know much about that. Skaven are essentially beastmen who are also a Chaos faction.

I had heard rumors of that slaanesh was locked up and replaced by the rat. Weird world

@@LordForwind Yes I have heard that too, however the Age of Sigmar wiki says there are now 5 chaos gods, so she was not really replaced.

archaon is the everchosen, he is granted power by all four chaos gods equally. he is their guy to lead chaos to corrupting and destroying the world. be'lakor is the first daemon prince and the only undivided daemon prince. he was originally chaos's guy but he became overly ambitious and wanted to become his own chaos god. that is why they can confederate unlike the others.

I know your comment is two months old but Archaon has the best Aspiring Champions which under him turn into meat grinder units. His champions get the marks of all 4 gods, on top of that Archaon himself is one of the best hybrid lords in the game.

I really do think that the three Slaanesh lords should get Blissbarb Archers and Blissbarb Seekers, maybe even allow them in the upgrade system armour, AP, magic damage upgrades.
@LordForwind
@LordForwind Год назад
But then they would have to give chaos factions some ranged beyond horsemen! They dont seem to want any non-tzeetch chaos faction to get range.

@@LordForwind Considering Slaanesh factions main Champaign mechanic relies completely on the vassal system I'd argue at the very least N'kari needs to get these two units if not all three of the Lords. CA's brilliantly designed vassal system for N'kari really leaves much to be desired imho.

So basically you need to hold most settlements because when I was playing even minor settlements give benefits in some way, but you get more income if you feed them to your subjects or vassals. I guess what I'm asking if all settlements give some kind of benefit how do I know when to draw the line. Resource buildings give no income whatsoever....I've heard they boost your armies in some way or faction benefits. I got to a point where I was only holding dark fortresses......it was getting way to tedious trying to micromanage between what settlements to hold, and which ones to feed....save for dark forts.
@LordForwind
@LordForwind Год назад
I gave all away except for the forts and did fine
@kevinharvey9500
@kevinharvey9500 Год назад
@@LordForwind ok that's what I do....and you're my go to guy. I see people playing these guys and holding all the settlements....or sometimes they'll give their vassals or subjects 1 or 2 settlements. It always confused me. I thought the more settlements you feed them the bigger their tribute is to you. In one of my campaigns my subjects and vassal tribute is almost 3000. I do always keep the dark fortresses tho. Most of my income is from sacking.

@darksidecookies2145
@darksidecookies2145 Год назад
@@kevinharvey9500 I'm actually playing a Be'lakor campaign now. I was kinda in the same boat as you, confused as to exactly which settlements to keep. This is my strategy: - Dark Fortresses: Obvious. These are your only "true" settlements, and they can net you some nice coin/Favor once upgraded to tier 3 or 4 (boosting to Tier 5 just for the income is not worth it, the # of turns to recoup the expense is too long) - Minor settlements with resources: These will boost your armies' stats a bit, but not exactly a game changer. If it would be a pain to hold a resource settlement, just give it to a vassal or ally. The only exception for me would be Marble, this reduces construction cost for buildings. Just 1 or 2 of these can net you some nice savings. - Ports: These provide a bit of growth, so they might be worth hanging on to in the early game, or in provinces with an undeveloped Dark Fortress. That said, the Gift of Nurgle that gives growth for every battle won makes ports and growth buildings obsolete. In the long run, these are much better given to your Norscan vassals, which make good money from ports, which in turn helps you. As far as vassals, it's ok if they start with a bunch of settlements when you take their main Dark Fortress. Norscan factions will basically never betray you, and the more they have the more you benefit. You can also pretty easily steal settlements from them if you pay or trade another settlement; this is useful if a vassal is sitting in a Dark Fortress. I usually gift settlements to those who will pay the most $$$. Throgg, Wulfric, and other Chaos factions you must beat them down and take their last settlement in order to vassalize or confederate them. I suspect Throgg and Wulfric benefit more from having larger empires due to being playable factions. I forget which turn I'm on, probably about 80, but I have about $10k in vassal income thanks to their empire sizes, and the Undivided Gift that doubles vassal tribute. This is about 1/4 of my settlement income with the Slaanesh Gift that boost income. Not a lot, but it's something.
@LandofMert76
@LandofMert76 Год назад
I have to disagree with the point of their faction. While fluffeise, they are supposed to be the bad guys and fight the good guys, their faction mechanics really want them to ignore the good guys and take over the lands of each other. Most of the Dark Fortresses that you need to be viable are owned by other bad guy factions. So in order to grow, you need to eliminate all of your allies. There is very little reason to expand south at all.
@LordForwind
@LordForwind Год назад
I think you miss the point. The idea is for you to have 1-2 max armies and attack the world with them. Taking over more fortresses delays your invasion and allows the order factions to get strong. Honestly each fortress is almost useless in what it gives beyond economy which you get more of from fighting anyways.

I think it just depends what you're going for. You can get a short campaign victory by doing the strat he recommends. I went with world domination on my play through and it's definitely nice to have all the dark fortresses to hub out different zones and give more of that upkeep economy coverage.

Im not a warhammer lore guy. But i don't think it's about bad/good, rather, about order/chaos. For instance, Malekith was the first choice of Asuryan for the Phoenix king, he just didn't have the balls to wistand the fire. Tyrion isn't particularly good either, he goes mad in the end times. Same for the empire, an awful place to live as a commoner. There is also no real clue about the reasons for the old ones to move the planet, set the races, let chaos pour in and just abandon everyone.
@LordForwind
@LordForwind Год назад
Well there is good and evil but they all oppose chaos and then there is the neutrals which go any which way. As far as I understand it from comment on the channel
@jarlwilliam9932
@jarlwilliam9932 Год назад
Order vs Chaos is literally just another way of saying good vs evil. The order factions are usually good and the chaotic factions are fundamentally evil. The difference in Warhammer is that the good guys will kill other good guys if it benefits them to do so.

You mean the Norsa ones? or actual chaos ones? If Norsca, you are limited in your settlements and they do a better job owning the land than you do. If chaos, you'll then get a chance to get more legendary lords.

are all these extra mechanics supposed to be fun? all I want to do is wage war across the globe and spread corruption for my empire....lol....all this extra crap just seems like stuff to slow you down. I miss the old total war games where it was purely conquor and control. is there any mods that simplify the factions where you can just invade and conquor everything?

Nope, not that I know of. You'll have to go back to shogun 2 for that and even there you have corruption aka religion.
